LOGAN'S POV

I walked down to the training grounds where Len was training, with all the anger in him. His knuckles were red, but he was still punching like his life depended on it. I watched him hurt himself, before I finally took the time to walk over to him, and held the sand bag away from his reach.

“What is wrong with you?” I asked, and he frowned, trying to take the bag back from my hand.

“I'm not giving you this bag until you talk to me,” I said, and he finally exhaled, as he bent over, holding his knees to catch his breath. I could tell that something was wrong. “What's wrong?” I asked for the second time, and he finally stood upright.

“I'm just getting worried about Selene. Constantly. The wedding is still going to take place. Any time soon. I know that was the reason why Zach was here.”

I swallowed hard. The wedding was the last thing that I wanted to think about. I didn't know why I had even gotten excited to the extent of trusting her, and giving her an access to me all o

ANA'S POV It was too late to start hiding my face as Logan walked in. He frowned as he saw all the scars on my face. He walked over to me in two strides, and held me in his arms, with his hands around to run through my face. He held it in the air, and I looked up at him. “What happened?” I asked. I was already craving his touch. “It would sting, Selene. You're bleeding.”I closed my eyes. I turned around, looking in the mirror. He was right. “What happened to you?” He asked, narrowing his eyes at me.“I woke up like this,” I said, not even bothering to lie. “Alana gave me a muffin, and I slept off in the process. I woke up like this.”His frowned deepened. “What are you talking about? How can you wake up like this?”It was useless hiding this part from him. He was the only one I could talk to about this one. “You remember the last time you came and my feet were bleeding?” I asked, and he nodded immediately. “The same thing happened this time.”“Are you having any kind of dreams wi

LEN'S POVI tried to get myself out of the room, but it wasn't even working. It was almost like I was stuck to the bed. I was sweating profusely. The drug was doing the opposite of whatever it was supposed to. I could barely even move. My throat was parched, and I couldn't even call for help. There was a knock on the door, and I opened my mouth to tell the person to come in. But I couldn't even do that. The knock came again, even more persistent. The door slowly opened anyway, and Alana walked right in. There was a small smile on her face. “You haven't been able to stand up?” She asked in a worried tone, as she walked over to me. She chanted a few spells, and then she took a step back. “You can stand up,” she said calmly. I attempted standing up, and she smiled.“You had to wait for a few more hours before you came to check up on me?” I asked, getting angry that she knew about the effects of the pill. She just decided to act nonchalant about the whole thing. She looked like she t

ANA'S POVI couldn't get rid of the feeling that there was something wrong. Even after talking to Len. His behavior had been off the whole time. And there was no way I was looking past that. I wanted to talk to Rowan about it, but I couldn't have him knowing about everything that was wrong with me. Selene might have been extremely comfortable with him, but I wasn't. It was something that I was still trying to learn. Even if Rowan had claimed to buy time for me from Zach, it didn't change the fact that Zach was still there. He was still going to keep visiting. He was still going to make my life a living hell. And I was sure that I couldn't tolerate any of that. It wasn't going to be long until I broke. After Alana had made the joke of putting something in my muffin, I knew that I had been taking things a little seriously. I didn't miss the hurt look that she had on her face at the accusation that she had done something. I wasn't taking things easy on any of the people that were arou

LEN’S POVI was this close to telling Logan about everything. But then I couldn’t. I had already promised Rowan. And I totally understood why he didn’t want me telling anybody else about it. We knew the woman that we were dealing with. If Selene did as much as get a whiff of everything that we were doing, she would never agree to cooperate. If Rowan was going to tell Logan about everything himself, then that was absolutely fine. I had barely trained for thirty more minutes when Logan returned to the training ground. There was something calmer about him. It was almost like I was seeing the old Logan again. The one who was calm just to allow me to become fierce. “Are you okay?” I asked him, and he nodded. “Did Rowan tell you everything you need to know?”Logan shook his head. “He didn’t tell me everything. But he told me that the both of you were handling everything. I think that was all I needed to know after all.”I waited for him to tell me that he didn’t know what I was thinking

ANA'S POV I held my breath as I followed Zach down the halls. There was confidence in his shoulders. I wasn't imagining it. Could it be that he and Rowan had done something? I was trying hard not to mix things up. Len asked me to trust Rowan. He only had nice things to say about him. It wasn't like I was forced to like him. My spirit genuinely liked him. I pushed Amy kind of doubt out of my mind, and tipped my chin as I allowed Zach to lead me towards Rowan’s house. I was even glad that I wasn't asked to lead him there. How was I supposed to tell him that I didn't know where my uncle's house was?I felt someone watching me, and looked up immediately to see Len narrowing his eyes at Zach and I. He attempted to move, and I gave him a small nod of my head that made him stay back. “You need to speak with your betas. They barely know their places,” Zach said, without even turning back. I felt like strangling him from the back. He finally stopped right in front of a house, and raised hi
