ANA’S POV

I slowly pushed the laptop away from myself. My eyes were hurting. I’ve been trying to be the perfect Alpha. It wasn’t like I was going to sit the Elders down and explain everything that has been happening to all of them. They wouldn’t even listen to me. In cases like this, I was only wasting my time and theirs.

I knew that they still had their eyes on me like hawks. And they were never going to leave me alone. Not at a time like this. I was still trying to prove to them that I was the perfect Alpha. That I didn’t need to get married to a man named Zach.

Elder Adrian was the only one that I didn’t have to prove anything to. But the rest? They were waiting for me to establish the pack and make significant changes within the blink of an eye.

There was so much going on, and I hadn’t even learnt how to become the proper Alpha towards my pack. There was so much going on. Selene was silent. Too silent. She was watching me. It was becoming scary. I had to call out to her occ

ANA’S POVI wanted to stand in a corner. I didn’t want to be part of anything that was going on. The kids had arranged a little dance, and even Anna was part of it. She was getting good at keeping secrets. I wanted to be sad at the fact that she was learning how to keep things from me. But I couldn’t deny the fact that I could see the evident excitement on her face as she danced and twirled around the stage. All eyes were on her. She hurried down to where I was standing, and I squatted to her level. “You didn’t tell me about the dance,” I said softly, and she nodded, making her little curls bounce around her face. “The teacher asked us to keep it a secret. She said I could surprise you with this. And I liked the idea.”I leaned in as I kissed her forehead. The person that coordinated the dance came, and slowly took all the kids away. People were randomly coming to touch my shoulder and tell me about how much good I was doing in raising Anna. It genuinely made me proud of whatever I

ANA’S POVI opened my mouth to say something, but what could I say? I had no idea about the whole thing, and Selene didn’t say a word about the whole thing. She still didn't answer me. “The Alpha had been through so much,” A voice came from outside, and I was more than relieved to see that it was Logan. He walked into the council hall, and all eyes were on him. He gave me a small look that told me that I shouldn’t bother about the whole thing. He was there to handle it. “Maybe she can't remember the details, but we both went over a few things that were going to happen.” The Elders finally had their eyes on him, and their attention was off me. I couldn’t be more glad.“The Alpha had suggested the ceremony happens next week. The theme is white. The rest of the plans will be sent to you. But you don’t have to worry, preparations have begun.”I could see the shame on Elder Xavier’s part. “If you say so, then there’s nothing that could be more perfect,” Elder Adrian said, looking over a

ZACH’S POV“And Alpha Selene finally sent him out of the pack,” Oscar said, finishing with a smile. I allowed myself to lean back in my seat. He had come that evening. Even if I wasn’t in the mood to meet anyone after the disgrace that Elsie had caused me for the second time in a row. The only visitors that I was getting were the ones that wanted to know why I was using Alpha Selene’s name as some sort of click bait to try to get people to come over to my party. I was annoyed. But I had already punished Elsie once for the same issue. I couldn’t give her the same punishment twice. The only punishment that I had never tried with her was crawling through the gravel stones that were in the courtyard. That punishment was strictly for Ana. No one had done it after her. And I wasn’t going to let anyone do it. I could still see her fry blood coated over the stones. I didn’t want anything to replace it. especially not Elsie’s blood. I looked back at Oscar, narrowi

LEN’S POVThere was no way I was giving up on Selene even now. I might have made the mistake of doing it the first time. But that was only because I wanted to finish up with rubbing the ointment. I want to actually make her fall in love with me. Just the way she was supposed to. But obviously, it wasn’t going to work that way. I tried catching up with her but damn, her tiny legs strode fast. It was hurtful watching her walk away from me when all she had done for the most of her life was run towards me. Lean on me for support. Now, she was doing the opposite. “Selene” I called out to her, as she made her way towards her room. She didn’t turn back to answer me. It was only when I grabbed one of the vases that were in the hallways that she finally answered me. She turned back to look at me, with her eyes wide. It was that look that I hated to see on her face. One of shock. One of mild hatred. The last way that I ever wanted her looking at me. But then, it w

SELENE’S POVI could feel Len running after me, and I found myself running into another corner. The last thing I wanted was for him talking to me at that point. I knew the kind of power he had over me. But then, what excuse did he have? He was practically there on the bed, stark naked with Alana straddling over him. How was he supposed to explain that? She was running her hands over him. Running her hands over what was supposed to be mine. At that point, I didn’t know if Len was still mine. The feeling of breaking the mate bond came stronger than ever before. I didn’t know how I was supposed to keep the feeling away at that point in time. Logan might have talked it out of me the whole thing the first time. But now, I didn’t know if I had made a mistake even listening to him the first time. I stood right in front of a pillar. I could only hope that he didn’t see me. Even when I had turned to Selene, Len was the first person that I had seemed to connect mor
