I woke up feeling very well rested. I looked at the clock on the night stand and saw that it was 10am. No wonder I felt well rested. There was a soft knock on the door. I knew it was my grams."Come in." I said. She entered the room with a cup of coffee in her hand. I was really hoping it was for me."Good morning dear. I brought you some coffee. I made some breakfast and as soon as your done eating and ready we need to go to the pack house. Alpha Simon would like to see you and discuss your wolf. If she is like your mothers was then she is very special. I know we were going to work in the bakery today but this is more important. And we will still go shopping after." She hurried out. I giggled a little bit at her trying to get it all out, maybe afraid I might protest or something."Of course grams. I'll get dressed and be right down. Thank you for the coffee." I smiled at her. I sip at the bittersweet liquid while she leaves the room. Getting out of bed, I stretch and find my bags so I am put on some comfy clothes. I chose a pair of black sweatpants and a red tshirt. Not a lot of point in looking to fancy if I have to shift. Something I can get on and off easy is better for that. I pull my really long blonde hair up into a messy bun. I hope the alpha isn't offended that I am not going to look all fancy and such.I head downstairs and to the kitchen. The delicious, sweet smells of crispy bacon, sausage and pancakes reach my nose before I enter the room. My stomach starts to growl and I then notice how hungry I am. Being a wolf shifter we have very big appetites and can eat a lot of whatever we wanted and still be thin. We had to train so we could be in shape and learn to fight otherwise we would be weak."This smells amazing grams." I said as I sat down. She put a big plate of pancakes, bacon and sausage and a bowl of fruit in front of me. She also set down a glass of water. We chatted some as we ate, avoiding the topics of what led me to being here and what was in the future plans. I know my grandparents would let me stay with them for as long as I needed or even wanted. And I considered it too."We should. So far I like it here. So much space to run." Haven said in my head. I couldn't help but agree with her. But I knew I would have to meet the alpha first, not his dad who is acting alpha while he is away. I had heard some rumors about him being ruthless and it scared me a little to think he might turn me away. But I knew my grandparents wouldn't let that happen. We finished eating, did the dishes and then headed out to the pack house. It was a beautiful fall day. The leaves were just starting to turn on the trees and the tempature was that perfect fall weather, not to hot and not to cold. The air smelled of the forest surrounding the pack. I was itching to run and I knew Haven was as well.As we walked to the pack house my grandmother pointed out a few things a long the way. The training grounds, the road that led to the little town they ran, the school and a few other places. I briefly remembered some from when I would visit as a little kid. That didn't happen so much after mom passed. That thought made me sad. But I brushed it away because I couldn't think of things like that right now.We approached the pack house which looked like a multi-level mansion almost. I knew like most pack houses that it had a ballroom, a kitchen, a dining area big enough to fit the whole pack and then some, the alpha floor, meeting rooms, offices, a livingroom where people could lounge together and a game room. There were also guest rooms as well.We went inside and I marveled at how beautiful everything was. It all seemed to be made of wood, like the inside of a log cabin. We walked down the hallway to a door that read alphas office on it. Grams knocked on the door."Come in." Said a male on the inside. I guessed it was alpha Simon. When we went into the room alpha Simon and alpha Jack were both there. Looking around the room I noted that it was very homey. There was a fireplace on one wall with a couch in front of it. Another wall was covered in bookshelves that were completely full of books. Behind the alphas desk was a massive window that overlooked the training grounds. It was a beautiful room. There were pictures around the fireplace. One had alpha Simon, his Luna and someone I was guessing is the alphas son. He had these bright green eyes and brown hair. I felt like I could get lost in those eyes. It was weird. I had to make myself look away."Good morning! I hope you slept well." Alpha Simon sat down in the chair at the desk. Beta Jack stood behind him."Yes, thank you." I said. I sat in one of the chairs across from them, my grams in the other."Well I guess we should just get down to business. No point in dragging this out. I remember your mother very well. I know how special her wolf was and it was hard when she left the pack. We protected her when she was here. I'm so sorry for your loss." Alpha Simon said."Thanks. I barely remember her wolf. She wouldn't shift a lot. Something about being unsure if it was safe." I thought about the times when she was alive and if I ever saw her shift."Well. Tell us about your wolf then." Alpha Simon smiled at me. It was a comforting smile and something about him made me feel safe."Well, she is massive. The size of an alpha. And she's pure white with bright purple eyes. Her name is Haven." I said."Just like your mothers. Hers was named Alexa." Grams sighed. I knew this would be somewhat hard on her as well."Well I will let you know now that you will be safe here in this pack. As long as you want to stay. I will discuss it with my son as he is the one who is the alpha of this pack but he remembers the stories of your bloodline. It shouldn't be a problem." Alpha Simon said. That was a bit of a relief to hear. I think I would like to stay here for awhile. I feel somewhat more connected to my mother being here. It's where she grew up and lived until she met my dad."I would like that." I said. Grams smiled wide. I knew she would be happy about my staying here as well."I think we should go out and meet haven if your okay with that." Alpha Simon said standing up."Yes, she is just begging to get out and run." I said, standing as well. We all headed out of the packhouse through a rear door and towards the training grounds. I could see a group that looked to be about the same age as me training. A few stared at me as we walked by but they just went back to training after we passed by. We walked to the other side of the training grounds and into the woods for a bit."Alright. This will be a good place. You can shift first so we can meet haven and then we will shift and run with you so that you can see where the borders are and so no one gives you trouble. Although if she's as big as you say I doubt anyone would mess with you." Alpha Simon chuckled.
MARKI couldn’t believe it when Rebecca told us everything that had been happening. I was happy for her that she had found her mate. I loved when my pack members were happy and I had a feeling her mate would make a good addition to the pack. I was going to have to take care of this situation with Serenity before it got out of hand. She had gone to far. I just wasn't sure yet how I was going to handle it. I would be having a meeting later with the beta and gamma couple and my own mate and parents and we would have to figure something out together because I had never had a situation like this before. I had to much going on with the vampires and rogues to deal with her petty jealousy. We all got up and headed over to the pack hospital. When i checked to see about visiting I was told he was all patched up and resting. A few days and he would be fully recovered. Maybe with his mate he would recover faster. I could only hope that he would accept his second chance mate and not reject her out
OAKLEYWe walked into Marks office and I was assaulted with the scent of my mate and I felt myself melting onto one of his couches in front of the fireplace. I didn’t realize how tired I was.“Are you okay?” He asked me. I wasn’t even sure why I was so tired.“Yea. I am just tired for some reason.” I said. He chuckled.“I think because you have been doing a lot these past few days compared to what you were doing before and it might all be catching up to you. Tomorrow is a Saturday though so we get a day off.” He sat down next to me and pulled me into his lap. I snuggled into him and his warmth. I knew I couldn’t stay there or I would fall asleep.“We can’t just take a break. Not with a vampire camp on our borders and rogues trying to get in here.” I said, sitting up. Before he could say anything there was a knock at his door.“Come in.” He said in his alpha voice. The door slowly creaked open to reveal Rebecca standing there.“Come in and close the door. Have a seat.” He told her, ges
OAKLEYWe reached the pack house and had just enough time to shower before lunch. We made our way to the alpha floor. I started thinking about that rogue in the hospital and how much I could relate to what he went through with his rejection. I knew how hard it was. I hoped he had a second chance out there.“What are you thinking about?” Mark asked. We had just gotten into our room and I realized I was just standing in the middle of the room. I moved towards the closet to pick out some clothes for after showering.“I was thinking about the rogue and his rejection. I know what it feels like. We should let him join the pack if he wants. I wouldn’t force him to go back to where he came from. At least give him some time to heal and get on his feet. Help him to see that there are good ones out there and that life does go on. Maybe he will have a second chance out there. And he doesn't have to stay here forever. But being a part of the pack until he does decide what to do is better than bein
OAKLEYI remembered what my mom and Selene had told me in the dream about my dad getting a second chance mate. I was happy it didn’t take long to find her. He deserved to be happy. I watched as he walked down the hallway following the scent of his mate. I followed him while the others took care of the kid.He stopped at a door that opened at the same time he arrived. A woman in a doctor coat with a stethoscope hanging around her neck stepped out. she was pretty with long curly brown hair, brown eyes and about my height. She looked at my dad and her eyes widened.“Mate.” She whispered. He nodded at her.“This can’t be. I had a mate. He passed away in a fight against rogues.” She said.“I lost my first mate as well. You’re my second chance also. Perhaps you would like to get some coffee and talk?” My dad asked her. She nodded and they headed off towards what I was assuming was the cafeteria.I turned around and made my way back to where everyone else was. I didn’t want to impose and I c
OAKLEYWe waited in the meeting room for everyone to join us, we didn’t have to wait for very long. Once everyone was settled mark got right to it.“So as all of you know the rogues demanded to speak with me last night at the border. They wanted me to give Oakley to them. They said we had a week to turn her over or they were going to take her by force.” He said. Once he finished everyone either started growling or making comments that insinuated they would not let that happen. I was happy to know that they all would fight for me but I also didn’t want them to have to do that.“Settle down everyone.” Mark said. He waited for everyone to calm down. Then he continued.“As you know they have vampires working with them. Or actually they are working for a vampire who has sent some of his people to make sure they are doing as he tells them too. We have contacted a friend of the family who is a vampire. He will be here this evening to assist with training. While a lot of us have never fought
MARKI awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside. I noted how it had been a bit since I had been on a morning run. But I felt like the reason I hadn’t was absolutely worth it. I looked over at my mate sleeping soundly. kissing her forehead gently so as not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving myself and brushing my teeth I went to the balcony. Sitting in one of the chairs I remembered what had happened the night before, before my mate went into her heat. When the rogues demanded they speak to me. I didn’t want to worry my mate but I knew I needed to tell her what had happened. How they demanded I turn her over to them or they would attack. Of course I had no intentions of handing her over. I knew that we would be able to come out of an attack against them with minimal damage but if they had vampires on their side then it would be harder. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear my mate approaching.“what’s wrong? I can feel your troubl
