I couldn’t believe it when Rebecca told us everything that had been happening. I was happy for her that she had found her mate. I loved when my pack members were happy and I had a feeling her mate would make a good addition to the pack. I was going to have to take care of this situation with Serenity before it got out of hand. She had gone to far. I just wasn't sure yet how I was going to handle it. I would be having a meeting later with the beta and gamma couple and my own mate and parents and we would have to figure something out together because I had never had a situation like this before. I had to much going on with the vampires and rogues to deal with her petty jealousy.
We all got up and headed over to the pack hospital. When i checked to see about visiting I was told he was all patched up and resting. A few days and he would be fully recovered. Maybe with his mate he would recover faster. I could only hope that he would accept his second chance mate and not reject her out of fear.
Once we arrived I had everyone wait in the waiting room while I went to talk to him. I didn’t argue when I realized that my beautiful mate was walking beside me, I knew it would be pointless, I just took her hand in mine and we headed to the room together. I know on the door when we got there.
“Come in.” I heard from the other side of the door. I opened the door and it was dark. The curtains on the windows were closed and the lights were off. Sam lay in the bed hooked up to an iv.
“How are you doing?” My mate asked him softly.
“I don’t know. I don’t know if there is really any point anymore.” He shrugged, opening his eyes. They had a hollow look to them, like he was giving up. I could feel his wolf so I knew his wolf had not given up yet.
“What if you had a second chance?” My mate asked him.
“Second chances are rare and not for people like me. I’m a no one.” He told her. I growled low, not liking his tone. He just shrugged. I did not like his disrespect but I understood why he was feeling the way he did and I was not going to call him out for it.
“Well you have a second chance and she is here in the hospital waiting to meet you.” My mate told him. she was starting to get snappy and I could tell she was getting upset with his disrespect also. He looked at her like he didn’t believe her.
“I didn’t want to do this like this but since your choosing not to listen to us and it’s the only way that will open your eyes to see it then I guess so be it.” She said and she stormed out of the room slamming the door behind her. I stared at the door in shock, unsure of where she was going but before I could even register that I should follow the handle turned again and in came my mate followed by Rebecca.
I looked at Sam and saw his eyes widen as he breathed in her scent.
“No way, it’s not possible.” He whispered, his eyes beginning to mist. he stared at her as if she was going to disappear on him.
“It’s possible. my mate is my second chance. I went through something similar to what you went through.” Oakley told him. He glanced over at her and then at me, I nodded to confirm and then he looked over at Rebecca. She hadn’t moved from near the doorway, looking timid and unsure.
“Hello.” Sam said to her.
“Hi.” She said back.
“I think that we will let you guys have some space to talk and figure things out. Sam, we wanted to let you know, that should you choose to pursue the matebond, you are more then welcome to join the pack. There is a place for you here.” I told him before heading to the door.
“wait, should I choose? Of course I would choose too. A mate bond is sacred and a second chance is rare. I would never reject my mate. Not by choice. So if this wasn’t pursued it wouldn’t be by my choice.” Sam said confused.
“I want to pursue it. You don’t have to worry.” Rebecca responded, crossing the room and taking his hand. She smiled at him and he smiled back. We performed what was needed to be done to add him into the pack and Rebecca’s parents came to the room. They were incredibly welcoming and inviting with him.
“you may want to give your own parents a call.“ Mark suggested to Sam. He grimaced and nodded.
"They will want to come here and see me. They probably think I am dead right now. Unless someone told them about the rejection they have no idea what has happened to me. I am their only child. They will be devastated." He said.
"Oh my. We can help you make that phone call and help you with anything else that may help that easier." Rebecca's mom told him. I nodded to him so that he saw that i agreed.
"They are more than welcome to come here. Just send me a link or a call to let me know and I will make sure someone meets them at the border and escorts them to wherever it is you are. In the meantime, my lovely mate and I will leave you guys to make that call and figure out what it is you want to do next. I am assuming you will need to be in here for another day or so." I said.
"Thank you so much. I truly appreciate everything you have done and I will make sure to stay away from Serenity." Rebecca said, giving my mate a hug and a wave goodbye. We made our way out the door and then started down the hall. Oakley was walking a little slow and it looked like she was looking around for something.
" Are you okay?" I asked her, stopped and pulling her to a stop next to me.
"Yea, I was just looking for my dad. I haven't seen or heard from him since we were here this morning and he met his second chance. I wanted to make sure he was okay." She said looking up at me.
"Oh. Well we can head over to the cafeteria and see if that's where they are." I told her. She nodded. I took her hand and we made our way there.

OAKLEYWe walked into Marks office and I was assaulted with the scent of my mate and I felt myself melting onto one of his couches in front of the fireplace. I didn’t realize how tired I was.“Are you okay?” He asked me. I wasn’t even sure why I was so tired.“Yea. I am just tired for some reason.” I said. He chuckled.“I think because you have been doing a lot these past few days compared to what you were doing before and it might all be catching up to you. Tomorrow is a Saturday though so we get a day off.” He sat down next to me and pulled me into his lap. I snuggled into him and his warmth. I knew I couldn’t stay there or I would fall asleep.“We can’t just take a break. Not with a vampire camp on our borders and rogues trying to get in here.” I said, sitting up. Before he could say anything there was a knock at his door.“Come in.” He said in his alpha voice. The door slowly creaked open to reveal Rebecca standing there.“Come in and close the door. Have a seat.” He told her, ges
OAKLEYWe reached the pack house and had just enough time to shower before lunch. We made our way to the alpha floor. I started thinking about that rogue in the hospital and how much I could relate to what he went through with his rejection. I knew how hard it was. I hoped he had a second chance out there.“What are you thinking about?” Mark asked. We had just gotten into our room and I realized I was just standing in the middle of the room. I moved towards the closet to pick out some clothes for after showering.“I was thinking about the rogue and his rejection. I know what it feels like. We should let him join the pack if he wants. I wouldn’t force him to go back to where he came from. At least give him some time to heal and get on his feet. Help him to see that there are good ones out there and that life does go on. Maybe he will have a second chance out there. And he doesn't have to stay here forever. But being a part of the pack until he does decide what to do is better than bein
OAKLEYI remembered what my mom and Selene had told me in the dream about my dad getting a second chance mate. I was happy it didn’t take long to find her. He deserved to be happy. I watched as he walked down the hallway following the scent of his mate. I followed him while the others took care of the kid.He stopped at a door that opened at the same time he arrived. A woman in a doctor coat with a stethoscope hanging around her neck stepped out. she was pretty with long curly brown hair, brown eyes and about my height. She looked at my dad and her eyes widened.“Mate.” She whispered. He nodded at her.“This can’t be. I had a mate. He passed away in a fight against rogues.” She said.“I lost my first mate as well. You’re my second chance also. Perhaps you would like to get some coffee and talk?” My dad asked her. She nodded and they headed off towards what I was assuming was the cafeteria.I turned around and made my way back to where everyone else was. I didn’t want to impose and I c
OAKLEYWe waited in the meeting room for everyone to join us, we didn’t have to wait for very long. Once everyone was settled mark got right to it.“So as all of you know the rogues demanded to speak with me last night at the border. They wanted me to give Oakley to them. They said we had a week to turn her over or they were going to take her by force.” He said. Once he finished everyone either started growling or making comments that insinuated they would not let that happen. I was happy to know that they all would fight for me but I also didn’t want them to have to do that.“Settle down everyone.” Mark said. He waited for everyone to calm down. Then he continued.“As you know they have vampires working with them. Or actually they are working for a vampire who has sent some of his people to make sure they are doing as he tells them too. We have contacted a friend of the family who is a vampire. He will be here this evening to assist with training. While a lot of us have never fought
MARKI awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside. I noted how it had been a bit since I had been on a morning run. But I felt like the reason I hadn’t was absolutely worth it. I looked over at my mate sleeping soundly. kissing her forehead gently so as not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving myself and brushing my teeth I went to the balcony. Sitting in one of the chairs I remembered what had happened the night before, before my mate went into her heat. When the rogues demanded they speak to me. I didn’t want to worry my mate but I knew I needed to tell her what had happened. How they demanded I turn her over to them or they would attack. Of course I had no intentions of handing her over. I knew that we would be able to come out of an attack against them with minimal damage but if they had vampires on their side then it would be harder. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear my mate approaching.“what’s wrong? I can feel your troubl
