Chapter 3

When I woke up again, I found myself lying on an incredibly soft and large bed.

Some unknown wood was burning in the nearby fireplace, releasing a warm, comforting scent throughout the room.

I then twitched my fingers and discovered that all of my injuries had already healed.

"You're up," a deep male voice suddenly said.

I turned around and saw two wolves looking at me.

They looked identical to each other, both strikingly handsome with an aggressive edge to their looks, their eyes as deep as the cold nights in the north.

The only difference was that one of them was dressed in black, his aura as cold as ice, while the other was dressed in white with a hint of a smile on his lips. Yet, the second wolf somehow looked a lot more frightening and menacing than the first.

I stared at them in shock.

"W-Who are you?"

"We are your new mates. I'm Kyle Grayback," the first wolf said, introducing himself before pointing at the other. "That's my younger twin, Ryan Grayback."

Ryan walked to the other side of the bed and sat down, observing me with interest.

"We're the Alphas of Snowlight Pack."

Snowlight Pack?

That was the name of a mysterious pack that dwelled in the coldest part of the earth in the north, and their Alphas were some of the most powerful, pure-blooded Alphas ever known.

Legend had it that this pair of Alpha twins were exceptionally brutal, having mauled countless she-wolves to shreds in bed.

"New mates?"

I shuddered and instinctively reached for my neck, immediately feeling two distinctive marks there.

They'd marked me!

"How could you!" I exclaimed, glaring at them angrily.

"Because we're your true fated mates," Ryan said calmly. "The Moon goddess guided us to you. You don't belong to that stupid fool anymore."

Fated mates?

Almost instinctively, I sensed within my body that my wolf, who was still in deep slumber, was actually responding faintly to them.

Kyle approached me and handed me a piping hot bowl of venison stew.

"I know that it's a little hard for you to suddenly accept the fact, but it's fate, and also your wolf's choice.

"Our wolves resonated with you like never before as soon as we found you under the snow. You are a gift from the Moon goddess to us twins."

I stared at the venison stew and didn't take it from him.

Seeing that I was still apprehensive of them, Kyle didn't push it and just placed the bowl on the bedside table instead.

"Your body is still weak. You should focus on recovering for now. It's safe here, and no one will be able to hurt you."

Then, they turned and left the room.

My mind was completely blank.

To think that I had suddenly become the Luna of these two legendary, violent, and bloodthirsty Alphas! Was the Moon Goddess pulling a nasty joke on me?

[3rd Person POV]

At the same time, back at Redstone Pack, Chase finally finished dealing with a pile of backlogged tasks and rubbed at his aching temples.

Three days had passed. He had thought that Daisy would have given in a long time ago.

How could that she-wolf, who'd loved him to the core for years, possibly be so stubborn about everything?

"Alpha."

It was Liam Barker, his Beta and best friend. Liam entered the office with a grave expression on his face.

"Is Daisy finally willing to admit her faults?" Chase asked without even looking up.

"No, Alpha. She… She's disappeared."
