SARA’S POV

I woke up in the morning with Lilly’s one leg over me and the other on Kane’s chest. I chuckled and got up then placed her properly on the bed. “Leave her be” said Kane with a sleepy voice as he turned to the other side.

I went around to check on him thinking he was awake, but he was not. The next thing I knew little snores came out of his mouth. I shook my head smiling. I went into the shower and stripped then showered.

I looked at my hands and I saw the missing fingers. Fear rose from the depth of my stomach at the sight of them. tears fell from my eyes as I silently cried feeling more alone than ever.

This life has been cruel to me, first, my uncle conspired with the rogues to have my parents killed. Then my cousin came back, and I was treated like a slave. She took my hope for the future.
