Madison Young stared at me, stunned. "What did you just say?"

Under the weight of everyone's stares, I repeated myself slowly and clearly, "I said, I'm willing to marry Grace."

Madison's neatly shaped brows pulled tight. "Caleb Vaughn, have you lost your mind? You really want to marry a blind girl?"

Connor Vaughn let out a laugh. "Come on, bro. Even if you're mad at Maddie, you don't have to throw your future away on a blind girl."

I stared coldly at both of them.

Madison and I had been close since we were kids. For the longest time, all her attention had been mine until Connor showed up and disrupted everything.

In my past life, when the two of them started pressuring me to marry Grace as a joke, I got into an argument with them. They had stormed off, their faces dark with anger.

I'd known, even then, that Connor had been sneaking around with the heiress of the Young family. He was never serious about Madison. I warned her not to get close to him, but she turned her back on my father's business partnership. As a result, our company's cash flow collapsed.

I still remember her standing tall in front of me, eyes full of disdain. "Caleb Vaughn, when you tried to stir up drama between me and Connor, did you ever think you'd end up like this?"

I had gone pale then, my laughter hollow and bitter. That was the day I realized she wasn't the same Madison who used to love me and wanted nothing more than to be my wife.

After our family went bankrupt, my father, Harlan Vaughn, ended up robbing a store to survive and was thrown in prison.

As for me, I got into a car crash.

Neither of us made it out okay.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the day of my 22nd birthday. I looked at their smug, sneering faces and clenched my fists silently.

This time, I wouldn't plead with anyone. I would stand by and watch Madison break when she found out the truth.

I reached for Grace's hand and led her toward the exit of the private room.

Madison stepped in front of us, sneering. "I get it. We haven't set a wedding date, and you're getting impatient. So now you're saying you'll marry Grace just to provoke me?"

She waved her hand toward the table. "Fine. I don't like games. I'll give you a way out. Drink the wine Connor brewed for your birthday, and I'll pretend I never heard a word you said."

Her finger pointed to the wine bottle on the table, Connor's so-called birthday gift.

Everyone in our circle knew I was allergic to alcohol. I never drank. And now Madison was telling me to down it?

"You're insane." I shoved past her with one arm.

Her face hardened instantly.

I tightened my grip on the blind girl's hand and kept walking.

Behind me, Madison's voice rang out, furious. "Caleb! If you've got the guts, then really marry that blind girl!"

I didn't flinch or look back. I just walked out of the restaurant with Grace beside me.

My assistant, Nico Hayes, pulled up out front and stopped the car. I helped Grace into the backseat gently.

Only then did she speak for the first time. She told me her last name was Bellamy, and that she'd lost her vision in an accident a few months ago.

Bellamy?

In Riverton City, the Bellamy family was practically royalty. Everyone wanted a connection to them.

Coincidentally, this poor, blind girl shared the same name, but she could barely move through the world on her own.

I looked at her blank eyes with pity and spoke softly, "I'm Caleb Vaughn, from Vaughn Enterprises. I'm sorry for dragging you into that mess today. I can get you the best doctors to treat your eyes, but only if you agree to marry me. If you're willing, just nod."

She nodded.

I didn't make a show of it. There was no need for dramatics.

I wasn't marrying her on impulse. I needed a wife. Otherwise, Dad would keep pushing Madison onto me.

"Alright then, Miss Bellamy," I said gently, "Let's go pick out a wedding dress. Today, we'll get it all settled."

The car pulled into traffic as I picked up my phone and dialed Dad.

It rang for a long time before he finally answered.

"What is it?" he said.

Grace's security team had already locked down the entire perimeter, prepared for anything.I stood on the stage, my eyes lowered, and met Grace's gaze in the crowd.Steady. Deep. Certain. For a moment, I reached out my hand to her as an invitation. She stepped forward, about to take it when a voice tore through the hall."Don't marry her!"Madison. She was dressed in a white gown, clutching a bouquet of roses as she ran toward me.A team of security guards scrambled to catch up, trailing behind her.Whispers swept through the guests like wildfire.Madison stood right in front of me, holding the bouquet to her chest."Caleb," she said breathlessly, "I've known you for over a decade. We grew up together. No one knows you better than I do. I admit I hurt you. I've made mistakes. I'm sorry. I really am."I know you're still mad about what I said, but please, don't throw your life away on a stranger you've only known for two weeks."She held out the bouquet with one hand. With

Grace looked at me, a smile tugging at her lips without her even realizing. She told me that back in high school, she had transferred in as the new kid. Quiet, withdrawn, and never one to socialize, she didn't fit in. It didn't take long before the class started isolating and bullying her.People threw trash at her and carved nasty things into her desk. She never really cared, she said. None of it ever meant anything to her.She never expected a boy to actually stand up for her and scold the bullies, just for her.She gave me a long look. Suddenly, the memory came rushing back.I remembered that moment. I'd just started to come out of my shell back then. Walking past another class, I'd seen a girl's chair being tossed out into the hallway while everyone jeered. For some reason, it reminded me of myself. Before I even thought it through, I stepped into the classroom and yelled at them.I got lucky that my voice was strong enough and my anger loud enough that they backed off.Now

"You… you hit me," Connor choked.Madison's face was stony. "You're damn right I did. Don't think I don't know what you've been doing to Caleb behind my back."Connor's eyes went wide. He turned to me, furious. "You! You piece of shit! You turned her against me! You just can't stop poisoning Maddie against me, can you?"He lunged toward me, fists clenched. Fortunately, before he got close, Grace's bodyguard shoved him aside.Without even a glance back, Grace grabbed my hand and strode toward the exit with me.Neither Connor nor Madison showed up again for the rest of the engagement party. Clearly, they knew how much they'd embarrassed themselves.…With the party behind us, it was time to plan the wedding. After that disaster, every time Connor saw me, he ground his teeth. The bathroom was pitch-black. I couldn't even see my hand in front of me.Strangely, it reminded me of another time I'd been locked in a bathroom back in middle school. A group of classmates had stolen my uniform and tossed it into the girls' restroom. They dared me to go in and get it myself.I went, and the second I stepped inside, they slammed the door behind me.Back then, it was Madison who had broken down the door and pulled me out. Now? She was probably sitting next to Connor, whispering and laughing with him like nothing ever happened. The air in the room was cold and damp. I sank down beside the door and closed my eyes for a moment.I didn't know how long I sat there before I heard footsteps outside. I immediately slapped the door and called out, "Hey! I'm locked in here. Can you help me get the door open?"The footsteps paused. Then a familiar voice, which was shaky and uncertain, answered, "Caleb? Is that you?"My hand froze mid-knock."It's me, Madison. Don't worr

I thought I was just getting married. It turned out I was marrying a hidden powerhouse.A moment later, a hand reached past me and quietly closed the window. The cool breeze vanished.I turned to Grace. Her eyes were still lowered, and her expression was calm."My vision should be fully restored in about a week," she said softly.I nodded."Then we'll hold our engagement party a week from now," I told Nico. After dropping Grace off at her home, the car circled back to the Vaughn estate. As soon as I stepped inside, I spotted Connor sitting in the main hall. He looked pale, but the moment he saw me, his eyes reddened with rage. "You piece of shit, Caleb!"I snorted. "You embarrassed yourself, and now you've got the nerve to curse me out?"He crushed the cheap plastic cup in his hand and growled, "Don't think you're untouchable just because you latched onto someone rich. I stole Madison from you once. I'll do it again with Grace."His shamelessness actually caught me off guard

Everyone in the boutique was staring at the woman beside me now with stunned expressions.Connor’s face twitched. "Mr. Ward, you’ve got it wrong. She’s just a blind girl. She’s not a Bellamy.""Shows what you know." Mr. Ward shook off his hand and snapped coldly at the staff, "What are you all standing around for? Escort these two out. Now."A group of store employees stepped up, surrounding Connor and Madison."Sir, ma’am, please leave."Madison frowned. "But Connor’s ring really is missing. Even if you’re kicking us out, shouldn’t we at least try to find it first?"Mr. Ward’s face flushed red. "Are you implying that Miss Bellamy would steal your cheap little trinkets? If you don’t believe me, we can pull the surveillance footage right now!"At the mention of "surveillance", Connor’s face went paper white. "The cameras... I thought your cameras were broken?"Mr. Ward shot him a withering look. "They've been repaired days ago. This is a high-end store. What kind of place wouldn
