Talia’s POV

"What are you doing? Don't call him over here!" I hissed at her.

"I'm helping you get over this awkwardness," Della responded with a grin. "I'll prove that he likes you."

"No, wait, Della," I started but the damage was done. The guards had already opened the gate to the rose garden to allow Nolan in. He moved with his usual calm stride. He scanned the garden before focusing on us. I forced myself to look indifferent.

“Alpha Nolan,” Della greeted first.

“Good afternoon,” I greeted,

Talia is too stupid. She continues to allow Jason to get close to her, after calling her all kinds of pathetic, degrading names, and trying to forcefully mark her. He also told her, after his failed attempt, that he would have her; which means that he won't stop until he has her, one way or another.

  • Second Chance for the Barren Luna   CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED & SIXTY EIGHT

Talia’s POVThe first thing I noticed was that I liked it here.It felt strange. Every room looked like I had chosen it myself. The colors, the heavy curtains, the low furniture, and the reading chair in the sunny corner were all things I would pick. Even the hallways felt right. I waited for something to feel wrong, but everything fit.“Who decorated?” I asked, glancing around the room.“You chose the main rooms, the colors, where everything goes. You spent your first year here rearranging everything,” Nolan explained. “You said it was no longer a lonely bachelor’s pad.”“Was it?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.“Yes, you were right,” Nolan agreed, giving me a small smile. He led me out the back and into the rose garden. This was where I had hidden when I first woke up.“This too?” I asked, looking at the garden.“Yes,” Nolan confirmed, staying back and letting me walk ahead. "You once told me your father’s garden at Silverfang was the only place you could really think. You wanted to ma

Talia’s POVAfter breakfast, we walked to the border to say goodbye to everyone. The cars were packed and most of the Alphas had already said goodbye. I waited until Solon came over before I spoke.“I want to come with you.”Everything stopped."To Silverfang," I said, since nobody else spoke. "I missed his funeral. I think going to his grave might help me remember. Silverfang is the only place I can recall. All my other memories are blurred or gone. If my memories come back, it’ll be there."Solon looked at Leslie. “It wasn’t…it wasn’t like that, Talia. I don’t think…”“Then what happened to him? How did he die? Why does no one want to tell me?” I asked.“Not yet,” Solon said, then sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “You need to stay here in Bloodmoon.”“Why?”"Because you’re taking things too fast,” Solon replied. “I know you want to get your life back on track, but I’m worried about what will happen if you rush things. You need to take it slow and not overexert yourself.”“I’

Talia’s POVI opened my mouth, but no words came out.I couldn't tell a five-year-old the truth. I don't know your father. I just met him this morning. He's a stranger who's been kind to me, but I can't be alone in a room with him at night.Nolan got there first."Your mum's been asleep for a long time," he said. "She needs peace and quiet to get better. It's easier to rest when she's alone.""Oh," Nyla said.I nodded like it was obvious.Elian wasn't having it."But that's not fair," he said. "When I can't sleep, you lie down with me, and then I fall asleep.""That's different,” Nolan said."How is it different?" Elian asked. "She can't remember anything. If she's with you, maybe she'll remember sooner. You're her mate. That's how it works."He stood there looking up at me, waiting for me to agree with him, because he had worked it out and it was obvious and all I had to do was say yes."I still get bad headaches," I told him. "I need some time to get used to everything, and then we'

Talia’s POVEveryone at the table was watching as I took a bite.No one tried to hide it. Clara stood with her hands folded, the girl next to her froze, and even Della stopped talking, which was always a rarity.I took the spoon from Nolan and then placed it in my mouth. The stew tasted great."Clara, this is amazing," I said, and everyone visibly relaxed.Clara sighed in relief. “Thank the Goddess your taste buds aren’t ruined.” She then hurried back to the kitchen, with the girl following. They returned with drinks for everyone and a plate of sweets. After that, they kept refilling drinks any time my cup was half empty. The room became noisy again as everyone talked to each other instead of just focusing on me. I finally felt like I could eat in peace even though I still noticed a few people staring at me. All I had to do was keep it together until I could get to my room."Henry’s not here tonight. He left with Arya earlier,” Nolan said as he started up a conversation."Henry? Alpha

Talia’s POV“Yeah, I’m hungry,” I said, and the kids cheered.Nolan smiled and walked me to the dining room. “Clara went all out. She made your favorite foods as soon as she heard you were up.”Clara. The name caught me off guard. For a second, I remembered a girl from my past. My maid in Shadowclaw was also named Clara. It was probably just a coincidence. Clara was a common name, but it still made me uneasy. The Clara I knew had betrayed me, so it couldn’t be her.I watched kids run around as more guests arrived in small groups. Some walked in and looked right at me. They already knew. Others didn’t, and I saw it happen: someone whispered in their ear, and then they’d turn to stare at me.People kept whispering and glancing at me, but when I looked back, they’d quickly look away. I couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone knew something about me that I didn’t. It wasn’t lying. It was just something everyone else knew except me.I tried to remember. It was like poking a bruise to see

  • Second Chance for the Barren Luna   CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED & SIXTY THREE

Talia’s POVThe nurse’s hands shook as she apologized. I shook my head and forced a smile. Everyone looked tense, waiting to see what Nolan would do. He was known for being strict. I didn’t want anyone to get in trouble because of me. “Thank you. You’ve all taken care of me for years. Please don’t blame them, Nolan.”Solon looked at me and gave a small nod, showing he approved. Colin squeezed my hand to reassure me. Nolan stared at me for a moment, then nodded. “No one will be punished,” he said, sounding gentle for once. “Doctor, check her first. Then everyone can go back to the party.”Everyone relaxed a little. The doctor, a middle-aged woman whose name I couldn’t remember, led me to an exam room. Solon and Colin followed, staying close. Solon leaned in and whispered, “Don’t worry about Nolan. He gets protective.” Colin nudged my arm and grinned. “Yeah, and he needs to learn to relax.”I felt the pack’s mind links buzzing with worry and questions, but I pushed them away and focused
