Chapter 4

Olivia's POV

And again, I woke up to sounds of beeping but this was more than a machine. I felt different tubes connected to my body and there was an oxygen mask on my face. "She's awake. Call the doctor." I heard a voice say and a few people in white rushed in.

"Miss, are you feeling any pain?" The man asked me as he checked up on me. I slowly shook my head and he took the mask off my face. My breathing was slow and it took me a while to finally get used to breathing.

It felt like I hadn't done it in years. "What happened?" I asked.

"You were hit by a car and you have been out for over two days." He explained to me and I looked at him, stunned. "A young man brought you here. He isn't here at the moment but he paid for all your medical bills."

I looked around the room and just by the look, I could tell it was a VIP ward and would have been very expensive.

"Since you are not feeling any pain and just went into a shock, you should be okay in two days and be ready to be discharged." He said, some nurses taking down notes.

"May I ask where I am please?" I asked softly and he smiled.

"Vile hospital, miss." He said and my jaw almost dropped. This was one of the most expensive hospitals in the whole country. I didn't have any money to pay back the person who brought me here and I didn't want to be in debt.

I just smiled at the doctor and he left with the rest. Slowly, the memories of that morning came back. I remembered the person behind the wheel was on his phone when he hit me.

I leaned back as I tried to think of where I would go after I left this place. Maybe a homeless shelter till I earn enough money to find a house to live in. I sat there for hours, thinking till I heard a knock on the door and I looked up to see the most handsome man I have ever seen.

I thought Liam was handsome but this man here looked like a freaking Roman god. His long, dark hair was neatly styled in half ponytail and his ice blue eyes looked like ocean waters.

"I hope I'm not disturbing for coming this hour that you should be resting." His calm voice came to my ears and it was even more compelling than his looks. I nodded gently as he placed the basket of flowers he had brought on the table, before sitting next to my bed.

"I brought you here and I am sort of the man who you walked into his car." He said, leaning back in the chair.

"Thank you very much. I'm so sorry if I caused you any stress damage or trouble. I wasn't looking where I was heading and I was so worried and…" I paused and looked at him. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine Olivia. I am to blame for hitting you so, we're even." He said with a sweet smile that made my insides melt but when I remembered Liam, I got a grip of myself.

"If I may ask, why did you bring me here? It's very expensive and I won't be able to pay you back because I have no money or nowhere to go. Not even someone to borrow the money from to pay you back." I said, looking down at my fingers.

"Consider it taking care of what I caused. No need to pay me back." He said. "And did you say you have nothing? If you don't mind me asking."

"I don't mind," I said with a small smile I didn't know if I should tell him what happened or not. I don't even think I can trust anyone after what Stella did to me.

"If you don't want to talk about it, no problem…"

"No, I do. I'm sorry for cutting you short. It's just, after being married to the man I thought loved me for five years and being made his punching bag every single day, I find it hard to trust anyone. He caused my recent miscarriage and just two days ago when you saw me, I just left his house after meeting him in bed with who I thought was my best friend since I was young. He divorced me right there and now I have nowhere to go, no one to turn to." I explained to him with tears rolling down my cheeks.

"I'm so sorry to hear that." He said, holding my hand. "No need to worry, I will find something for you, okay?"

I nodded gently and he smiled back. We spent the evening talking about random things and he visited daily with gifts and snacks till I got discharged.

He was nice, calm, loving, and had everything any woman would ever dream of in her man. He drove me to the middle of the city and I wondered where we were going before he stopped in front of an apartment building and took me in.

"Here, these are your keys. I bought you an apartment." He said and I turned to him in surprise. I didn't know what I did to deserve his kindness and I just burst into tears.

"You didn't have to do this. If it was just a little job to pay rent, it wouldn't have cost you much." I said and he just smiled.

"It's fine. I don't mind at all." He said, brushing the strands of hair from my face before leading me into the well-furnished apartment. I was surprised by the beauty, fitting just my taste. "Everything you need will be supplied to you monthly so just earn some money and save up for yourself. I got you a job too."

I didn't know how to react and I just threw my arms around him and kissed him. Everywhere was still for a second as we started at each other in shock.

"Open this door, Olivia." A loud voice shouted from the door.
