Chapter twenty

Caroline's voice was heard looming over the whole place. I finished slicing the vegetables and placed them in the kitchen unit where other food items were kept.

I know that the reason for her outburst was a result of how I replied to her, she sure wasn't expecting that.

Not knowing what else to do, I sneaked out of the kitchen to go look for clothes in the rummage bin.

That's where I do get a change of clothes from the ones that people might have outgrown or thrown out.

Walking through the passageway that leads to the rummage bin, I noticed someone too familiar striding in my direction.

"Allen," I smiled at the sight.

But something got my attention, he doesn't look that happy. He had his hands shoved inside his pants pocket with his face glazing in thoughts that he didn't even know when he did walk past me.

I stopped and turned, I wanted to call for his attention but I couldn't. I stared at his back as he continued walking.
