“I always wanted him to stay around longer than he used to. He usually came home on weekends to spend some time with us and I can never forget shedding tears all the time, begging him to stay for some more time” I laughed.

“Daddy’s little boy!” Someone screamed from the crowd, while others laughed.

“But then as I grew, I got to understand him better. He did all that to lay a solid foundation I could build on”

“I mean, he could have just relaxed at home all those times if he wanted. He never really loved the fact that he was always away from his family, but then, he had to keep on to secure a future for his kids”

I felt I was already boring the guests with my long speech. It was written all over their faces that they couldn’t wait to get to the main event. I had to cut my speech short.

“I can see a lot of you are eager to get this whole thing started. I understand the whole speech is boring. Who cares about some long emotional speech, huh?” I said sarcastically.
