Again, Zach stretched his hand to her, and out of habit to be polite she took it this time, regretting it instantly. But it was too late now, he was already grabbing her hand firmly. she gripped his much larger hand just as tightly, and at that moment, it was as if they both needed to prove that they didn't mind being in each other's space like right now. It was almost amusing to her though, even though it was nothing but nonsense, and she wondered what he would do if she hadn't taken his hand in a shake, or if she was to pull hers suddenly away from him. Chloe's hand was still on her, firmly that she couldn't take it off when if she tried, but she could see that he wasn’t really focusing on their shake anymore. It was something else that took over his attention, but she struggled to understand what it was. Everything about him was hassling her, even his eyes mocked her. It was as if he could tell that she had butterflies in her belly right now, even though she was giving off a not
“Oh my God, it’s finally lunchtime. I thought I was going to have to gauge Mr. Romero’s eyes out with the hunger.” Hailey said as she opened the door of the cafeteria and they walked in. “I know right.” Chloe agreed as she followed her in, her stomach rumbling. She was talking to Hailey but her eyes roamed the crowded cafeteria for Zach, hoping he wasn’t there, and wasn’t coming. Well, one prayer was answered because he wasn’t here, but she hoped the other get answered as well. "I didn't have breakfast, had to break out of the house from the chaos my brothers thought was funny to make after I made breakfast.” She said. They walked to the line and thankfully, the queue for food wasn’t that long, so they got their food almost immediately. They started to walk to the empty table at the corner end of the cafeteria when a voice stopped them. “If it isn't the new slut!” someone said and they both turned around to see Dana sitting with some Barbie-looking girls. Chloe frowned in confusion
"You didn't tell me it was this small when you said you had something I can manage!” Chloe said, staring down at the cloth she had in her hand. “Yeah, the keyword is manage, Chloe,” Hailey said, lifting her shoulders in a shrug. Chloe sighed. The cheerleading clothes were just going to be too small, but right now, she wasn’t looking as if she had much of a choice. She certainly just had to get out of this. She started to walk down to the bathroom that was at the far end of the hall, the one people rarely use because of the graphic words written all over the wall. Hailey followed her, and she started to talk her head off. "Oh, damn. I don't think these clothes of yours can ever be saved. It's just gone I'm so sorry for it. You should have duck or something, but damn, that Dana. That girl is just batshit crazy. When she hung with us that day at the cafeteria, I was surprised, but knowing her, I was half expecting her to do something crazy, like maybe sneak in poison into our food or
One thing Zach was looking forward to was going t the cafeteria after the period was over, so when he was finally able to walk inside, he did it with a smile on his face. He was happy he would be sitting with Chloe again. Seeing her every time at school helped the fact that they weren't starting the lesson until the next week. He was glad he got to see her as often as he did because it meant he wouldn't miss her too much. He would have been here a while ago, but Liam insisted they looked around for Dana since Zoe had skipped school and he didn't want her eating alone. But since they didn't find her, they had been left with no choice. He would have cared less what she did during her free time because of the kind of person Dana was and her mood swing. She was not the person on his mind at the moment, nor the one that brought this smile to his face, so that was that. But, as soon as he entered, the smile slipped off his face. There were a lot of people in the cafeteria today, but it w
He looked for her everywhere until someone told him where to find them because she had seen Hailey walk in there, and so here he was in front of the bathroom, thinking of what to say. Finally, after mustering up the thoughts of what he could say, he pushed open the door of the bathroom and walked inside. "We need to talk, Chloe.” He said, even before he was sure they were inside before he saw her and his eyes met with hers. Slowly, his eyes went down her body, roaming it so passionately he couldn't believe himself. But what more he couldn't believe was what he was looking at. Chloe was dressed in the old cheerleading uniform Leighton High used, and he remembered that Hailey was once part of the cheerleading team, and this must be her uniform. It was right and short on her, and Zach growled at the way it made him feel. He looked at Hailey who was looking at him with questions in her eyes, probably wanting to ask him what the hell he wanted, but couldn't. He turned a pleading eye to
It was almost as if Zach could feel Chloe's eyes on his body, burning holes into the insanely gorgeous body because he turned to look at her, a small frown on his face. “Holy shit, you both are connected.” Hailey squealed and Chloe rolled her eyes. "That's why he can feel you looking at him, and that's why he turned to look at you at the time you started to stare at him.” She added, causing another eye roll from Chloe. Hailey had always been a tad bit dramatic, but she was getting more dramatic as time passed by. Perhaps, it was the drama that was going on at home that had made her that way. Chloe was still staring at him even while Hailey spoke to her, so she didn't miss it when he winked at her and gave her a smile. For some reason, that angered her, even though it should have pleased her. For a while now, after the cafeteria incident, he had been avoiding her at school, and been bleeping annoying, no other word for that. Why the heck was he smiling at her now, like he cared abo
His voice welcomed her as soon as she entered the room he was waiting for him in. "I didn't think you would actually come.” He said, and she could hear the smile in his voice, even before she turned to face him from closing the door of the room. In there was a little bit dusty and dark, but she could still see the annoying grin on his face the moment she turned to face him. That annoyed the hell out of her, but she just swallowed it all down. “When I had to wait for more than a couple of minutes, I thought that you had stood me up.” He said, and Chloe shrugged. “Well, I'm here now.” That was what she wanted to say, but she knew Zach well enough to know he could do something funny if she happened to act defiant. So instead, she put a small smile on her face, although pleasant, and she stopped in front of him where he half stood and sat on a high desk. "Why would I do that?” she asked. He lifted his shoulder in a shrug and grabbed her wrist suddenly to pull her to him. It was so ou
“Because I don't want to have to beat the shit out of someone, okay! There. I said it.” “What are you talking about? Why would you do that?” When Chloe asked him that, silence fell between them. He could tell she was confused about that half ass confession he had just made, but he wasn't sure he wanted to explain anything yet. “Why don't you want to beat the shit out of anyone, I mean why would you have to?” Chloe asked again when he didn't say anything. “I just don't want to be a bad friend and allow some jerks to mess with you.” He said, hoping that was an explanation enough. It wasn’t though, because, after a moment, she shook her head as if to say that wasn't genuine enough. “That’s not answering my question, Zach. Why won't you just explain what you mean when you said what you did?” she asked him, looking at him and hoping he would explain what that meant to her. Zach rubbed his temple, he could see what she was thinking plainly displayed on her face. She was thinking that
