Chapter 22 Borrowing Money

Laura took a deep breath. Just when she was about to say something, Shona had already hung up.

Her grip on her phone slowly tightened. Around 10 minutes later, she got out of bed.

No one was in the living room. Laura walked to the room next door and knocked on the door.

The door was opened from the inside. Chris was standing at the door in his pajamas. He seemed to have just washed his hair. His hair was still wet.

"What's wrong?" Chris lowered his head and looked at the woman in front of him.

"I..." Laura suddenly felt really embarrassed. "I... Can I borrow some money from you?"
