I stood up and made my way to the door and there he stood. The man whom I intentionally broke his heart today. I hurt him and I wanna hate myself for it but I don’t.
“Dixon!!” I called both their attention to myself. Dixon looked at me with heavy pleading eyes, he looked like he’s been stressing himself out too much.
”McKenna, Princess, Please. I have to talk to you. It’s urgent.” He said.
”It’s okay, Adeline. I got it.” My eyes focused on the owner of those mesmerizing grey eyes. Those captivating eyes belongs to an even more captivating man. His hair that looked as soft as a feather was styled messily on his head, his sharp jaw with a slight stubble made him look even more gorgeous. His cool grey eyes and the eyebrows that were scrunched together in concern and something else I couldn't point my finger on. The way his lips looked so pink, soft and luring me in. I felt my body tingling from just staring at him.
”You sure? I can stay here if you want.”
”No, I’ll be fine. Thank you.” She nodded and left. I watched her leave making sure she was out of earshot before turning back to the man in front of me.
”You wanna come in or you’re okay over there?” I asked.
”I’ll rather we talk outside.” He said as he stepped back so I can also step out. I followed him out and carefully closed the door.
”Why was Adeline so mad at you?” I watched him as he put his hands into his pockets and bit down on his lips.
”She’s just mad at Adam and I, you know how she is.” I nodded.
“Adam as in her twin right?” I asked with curiosity.
”Yeah, that one. They're both devils. I wonder how I survived with both of them in my life.” he said as he let out a deep chuckle with his hands still planted in his pockets.
”So what did you want to see me for?” I asked.
”I came to apologize actually. I’m sorry for leaving like that earlier.” He said.
”Ohh, please, don’t do that. I should be the one apologizing.” He chuckled shaking his head.
”It was rude of me to leave like that. Did I miss anything important?” He said.
”Not really. Why do you think my father did that?” I asked him.
”You want my honest opinion?” I nodded. He ran a hand through his already messy hair as he took a deep breath.
”I think it’s a message.” He said. I looked at him with no expression on my face then suddenly busted into laughter. i doubled over and held my tummy as I laughed my ass out.
”No shit, Sherlock. Of course, it’s a message. What did you think it was?” I rolled my eyes at him as he chuckled.
”No, that’s not what I meant. I meant it has a secret meaning to it. Like he’s trying to tell us something.”
“I thought so too. But what’s the message exactly?” I asked him.
”I don’t know but one thing I do know is we have to find out what’s going on. I forgot to ask; we all know the cause of your parents death but the police never said anything, did they?”
Now that he mentioned it, I realized how stupid we all were. I didn’t see the police on the day of the incident, Jason was the one who heard everything and he just told me. He was also the one who brought me to the hospital Ian was kept in. I’m more confused than ever.
”My God, I didn’t see the policemen that day.” He looked at me confused.
”What are you talking about? You were the one who informed the press of their accident, weren’t you?” I stood there mouth agape as it finally dawned on me.
“That wasn’t me. Oh my God, Dixon. What’s going on? What have I done?” I said as I felt my tears threatening to fall and the room began to close in on me.
”Hey, hey, hey. Look at me, Princess. You’ve gotta calm down and breathe.” I looked at him through the tears clouding my eyes and nodded. He hugged me and whispered into my ear. “We’ll get to the bottom of this, I promise.” He placed his chin on my head as I felt myself calm down.
”Wanna get out of here?” I asked as he looked down at me and smiled. Why can’t I just be in love with him?
“Absolutely.” He said as he grabbed my hand and we made our way to the elevator.
”Do you have somewhere in mind? Cause I do.”
”Let’s just go to your spot.” He said and I nodded. I noticed he was still holding my hands. His hand feels so soft and warm like a baby’s butt. It’s not like the usual rough and muscular hands.I felt sparks as his warm thumb circle my hand. He seem to be doing it absentmindedly but I’m definitely not stopping him.
We both stepped out of the elevator hand in hand and made our way to his car. He opened the passenger door for me but I just stood there looking at him. He raised his eyebrows.
”What?”
”It’s my spot which means only I knows the place which also mean that I get to drive.”
”You wanna drive Maya?” He asked perplexed. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about this guy, it’s that his Ferrari 488 Pista means a lot to him.
”You name your cars? You know what, I don’t even want to know. Well, obviously it’s not like you know the place anyway.” I shrugged my shoulders.
”But it’s Maya. She gets hurts if I don’t drive her.” He said sticking his bottom lip out at me.
”You know it’s a car, right? Cars don’t have emotions.”
“But, Maya...” I raised my finger to silence him.
”Just give me the key. I’ll take care of her, I promise.” He looked at my outstretched hand and the car a couple of times before sighing and giving me the keys.
”Fine. You have to take care of her, okay?” I rolled my eyes before snatching the keys from him.
”God, you’re such a drama queen.” I said as I got into the vehicle and I slammed the door. He suddenly screamed almost giving me a heart attack.
”Dixon! What the hell! Why in the world did you scream like that?” I asked.
”You slammed the door, McKenna. You’re hurting her.” I rolled my eyes for what felt like the hundredth time today.
”Jesus Christ, You’re such a princess. I think I roll my eyes with you more than I do with Luke and that’s saying a lot. ”He chuckled as I made my way out of the hotel.
”Smooth ride. Real smooth. No wonder you treat her with so much respect.” I said as I stepped on the gas.
Within 30 minutes, We arrived at the coffeeshop. Cathy's Cakes & Coffee is located at the prime area in New York City, surrounded by many huge industries and office buildings. It’s always Jason and I’s spot. I love this café, I always try to come here as often as I can but it’s not been easy considering it’s a half an hour journey to my place.
”You like this place?” He said bringing my attention back to himself.
”Yeah. They serve the best pastries and coffee. Jason and I usually come here. He hates this place though.” I said as I stared at the café.
“Uhnn...”
”Come on, let’s go in.” I said pulling him into the café with me.
Third Person's POV.BANG!It all happened in a split second. Dixon had turned around with a frown on his face as McKenna ran straight at him. But just as she reached him, her body jolted back into him, taking the impact of the bullet. It was the bullet that was to take his life. She took the bullet for him.One of the officers took the gun from Trevor quickly as another shot him in the leg. He let out a scream in pain. Sophie ran into the room, curious as to what caused the noise.Simon stared at the woman that came in with shock evident on his face. What was she doing here dressed as an FBI agent, he thought to himself as they stared at each other. He opened his mouth to say something, but the other agents pushed him and the others out of the room."MCKENNA!" Dixon shouted as he wrapped his arms around her, who came toppling down. Her eyes were filled with pain and tears, enough to make her u
McKenna's POV.Crying is the act of shedding tears in response to an emotional state. But after a certain threshold, even the tears runs out.My tears had long run out, and yet another sun was on the verge of setting. Another sunset without Dixon's arms wrapped around me every night when we'd go to the balcony after dinner to watch the sun disappear on the horizon and how he'd pull me closer when we played games in the living room with Ian and Liam.It had become their thing. A tradition that we never miss. I remember how Dixon would rush through meetings to make it back home in time before the sky is painted in various hues of purples and oranges. He'd kiss me softly as the last hue of orange disappeared, and I remember feeling like the happiest girl in the world.Dixon.He would have noticed her missing by now. I can't even imagine the pain and worry that he and every other person will

Third Person's POV.Everyone turned to look at the young woman who walked in like she had no care in the world with Dixon's father. Sophie knew that her coming here was a big step. The guys were intelligent, they would've uncovered the truth by now, but they don't know her mission yet.David stopped in his tracks when he saw his son. The two stared at each other, one not believing his eyes and the other thinking he doesn't want to see him. David moved closer to his son as he enveloped him in a tight hug. He couldn't believe his son was back after everything that had happened. Dixon smiled a little when he saw the exchange. Even though his dad never admits it, he knew how much he missed Leo. Luke saw red, anger coursing through every vein in his body. Sophie was the one that kidnapped her. What the hell was she doing here?"What are you doing here? Where did you take Kenna?" Ian said, his voice dripping with anger and hatred. "Wh
McKenna's POV.I opened my mouth to say something, but no words could form. The pain shooting from the back of my head also isn't helping matters. I watched as she walked to Trevor and placed a chaste kiss on his lips."What are you doing? I don't want my girl thinking we have a thing." He turned to me, an innocent smile on his face, but I knew better. "Don't worry, baby. I'm all yours."What the hell is he saying? He ran his finger down my cheek to my neck. Itried fighting him off, but I couldn't. His touch made my skin crawl, and I did the next reasonable thing I could think of at that moment. I spat on his face.He closed his eyes, letting my saliva trail down the side of his face. He laughed as he wiped it off. My face turned to the side as a harsh slap landed on my cheek. Another kick landed on the side of my stomach, making my insides churn. I swallowed my tears. If they think they can brea
McKenna's POV.My body hurts. I could feel the pain shooting at every single muscle in my body, my head pounding and some liquid flowing down my face. My hand reached out to massage my throbbing temples trying to alleviate some of the pain, but frustration coursed through my body at the inability to move.'Ugh, my head hurts.'I slowly opened my eyes to see that I was in a dark room except for the light peeking through the small window at the top of the room. I looked around the room for a way out, but there's nothing except the window. What am I doing here? How did I get here? I can't remember anything. Think, Kenny. Think. The only thing I seem to remember was the restroom and Sophie. My eyes seem to widen as I finally realized what happened. Yes, Sophie brought me here."Sophie!!! Sophie!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. My head hurts, but I need to talk to her. I'm sure she has he
