Chapter 39: Ghost from the past
ROSE
Air... I needed air.
That was the only thought ringing through my mind as I awoke. My throat was dry, and my ears rang. Was I supposed to feel this way after the memory ceremony? Like I'd been hit by a truck and then smashed continuously by the hulk?
I slowly moved my head around and my breath hitched. There was no one here. Not a single soul in the silent, dark place.
"Hello?" I called out. I then began to hear violent whispers in my ear. I couldn't quite decipher what they were saying.
"All hail her majesty, Rose, the new Goddess." they screamed in my ears making me cover them with my shaking fingers.
Then silence and darkness.
Slowly, I began to hear distorted yells and my eyes began to flutter open.
