Allie stayed in Liam Hart’s office, not wanting to leave.

She knew as soon as she stepped out, she would be the center of everyone’s gossip, and the thought of it made her want to hide inside, away from all the prying eyes.

Liam, the man buried in his work, was the youngest CEO of the Hart Group. A global empire built by his grandfather, with investments spanning industries from tech to real estate. The Hart Group was untouchable, a name revered in the business world.

Allie came from a family of influence as well—her father was the chairman of Crescent Media, one of the leading media conglomerates in the country. But even with her family’s power, the Hart Group outshone the Crescent name in every way, and the political ties that the Hart family had only added to their power.

Her father had mentioned Liam a few times before, calling him a once-in-a-lifetime business genius. But what really intrigued Allie was Liam's mysterious background. Everyone knew that his father had passed away years ago, and his mother remarried, leaving Liam with a complicated family history.

Some rumors said that Liam was the son of his father's longtime partner; others said he was adopted. Regardless of the whispers, Liam had taken the reins of the empire when he was only 25, and within two years, he had proved to the world that he was the genius they all claimed him to be.

Allie didn't fully understand how someone so young had been able to command such power, but she had witnessed Liam’s brilliance firsthand. At 28, his empire had grown stronger, and no one dared question his authority.

"Allie, if you keep staring at me like that, I won’t be able to focus," Liam’s low voice cut through her thoughts, drawing her attention back to him.

Allie froze, realizing she had been lost in thought, gazing at him for who knows how long.

Blushing, she jumped up from the sofa. “I’ll... I’ll go back to my desk.”

As soon as she walked out of his office, her colleagues crowded around her, eager to know what had happened. "Allie, are you okay? Did Liam give you special instructions?"

She shook her head, trying to brush off their curiosity. "I’m fine, really. No need to worry."

Jess, a fellow intern, chimed in with a teasing smile: “Even if you were personally mentored by Liam, that would be a luxury. Out of all the interns, you’re the one who gets to spend the most time in his office. Some of us haven't even seen the inside of it!”

The comments made Allie feel slightly uncomfortable, but she didn't show it. "I’m not special, just doing my job."

Jess, adding, "Don’t be humble, Allie. You're practically the president’s favorite! I heard the Brooks family has been trying to make alliances with the Hart Group, and you’re the perfect bridge. You're already one of the most talked-about people in the office, and you’re so beautiful... I bet you’ll end up being the future Mrs. Hart.”

Allie’s face turned bright red at the insinuation, and she quickly brushed it off. "That’s ridiculous. I’ve never thought about that."

The teasing only continued, and as the attention shifted away from her, Allie was able to breathe a sigh of relief. For now, she just wanted to focus on getting through the day without any more gossip.

The rest of the day went smoothly.

Nick Sullivan and Cher Lin never appeared again.

Allie Brooks successfully completed her internship at Hart Group and was ready to start school.

The day before school started, her stepmother, Lisa Ruyan, called and told her to come home for dinner that evening.

Lisa Ruyan was once a popular star in the entertainment industry and is now Allie Brooks' stepmother.

Allie's mother passed away when she was twelve. She hadn’t expected that just six months later, her father would

marry Lisa Ruyan.

In Allie's memory, her father had always been a refined and affectionate man who treated her mother with the utmost care, especially during her illness.

While Allie didn’t object to her father moving on, she found it hard to accept that Lisa brought a daughter, Vivian Brooks, only two years younger than Allie, who was also her father's biological daughter.

What did this mean? It meant that her father had been involved with Lisa for many years. Allie later learned that her father's relationship with Lisa had been an open secret within certain circles.

Liam Hart came home from work early that day. When he arrived, Allie was packing her bags.

Allie said to Liam, “I’m going home for dinner tonight. I’ll bring my luggage with me since I’m going back to school tomorrow, so I won’t be coming back.”

Liam asked, “Do you want me to go with you?”

Allie quickly replied, “No, I’ll just go on my own. My dad… he doesn’t know I’m married.”

Liam said, “So as a boyfriend?”

“Even worse, they don’t know that I broke up with Nick.”

Liam stayed silent for a moment before asking, “So when do you plan to tell them?”

Allie thought for a moment. “Tonight. I’ll make it clear that I’m no longer involved with Nick.”

Seeing Allie’s determination, Liam gave her a small smile and handed her a key. “This is a reward for you.”

Allie looked at the key, surprised. “What is this?”

“The key to Fountain Villa. It’s close to your school. Once school starts, you’ll be moving in there.”

Fountain Villa was one of Liam’s properties. Allie had been there once; it was a luxurious estate, known for its privacy and home to many celebrities.

Allie said, “I planned to live on campus.”

Liam replied, “What am I supposed to do if you’re living on campus?”

Allie was taken aback. “Are you planning to live there too?”

Liam said, “Allie, you’re a married woman now. Your husband is physically and mentally healthy, full of vitality, and I have no plans to separate anytime soon.”

Allie’s cheeks turned red. She and Liam had been living together for three months now, and she considered it one of the boldest choices she’d ever made. Liam was often away on business, but whenever he was home, there was almost always something happening between them, something that felt so natural Allie couldn’t resist.

Seeing her blush, Liam leaned in and kissed her. Allie, still inexperienced, found herself quickly losing her breath. She couldn’t keep up with Liam’s intensity and was always the first to surrender.

As Liam casually unbuttoned her shirt, she suddenly snapped out of her daze, placing a hand over his to stop him.

“Not now—I need to get home soon.”

She knew that once they started, it wouldn’t end for at least an hour, and she’d barely have the strength to walk.

Unamused, Liam playfully bit her neck, leaving a mark in the process.

After a moment, he took a deep breath and buried his head in her neck, speaking in a low, husky voice. “I’ll take a quick shower and then drive you home.”

Robert Hart leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping rhythmically against the polished wood of his desk. His sharp eyes settled on the two sitting across from him. “I just spoke with David Brooks. Now that the marriage certificate has been signed, we should move forward with the wedding as soon as possible.”Liam Hart didn’t flinch. Not even a flicker of reaction. His voice remained calm, firm. “Allie and I have already discussed it. We’ll have the wedding after she graduates.”Allie, sitting beside him with her arms folded tightly across her chest, gave a nod of agreement. “I’ll be starting my senior year soon, and things are going to get hectic. I have my thesis, plus the film project. There’s just too much going on right now.”Robert studied them for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, he gave a curt nod. “If you’ve both thought this through, then there’s no rush.”David Brooks tossed in a few routine questions before excusing himself, leaving behind a quiet,

Liam’s eyebrows twitched slightly. That was twice today.I had kissed him—completely unprovoked. And now, I couldn’t even look him in the eye.God, what was wrong with me?My cheeks were burning, the heat spreading down my neck like a wildfire. Had I been too forward? Was I misreading him entirely? Did Liam even like me being this… bold?I chanced a glance at him. His eyes—deep, dark, unreadable—gave me nothing. Not a flicker of emotion. And yet, that silence, that stillness, said everything.Panic twisted in my chest. I laughed nervously, the sound brittle and false, and started to lower myself from his arms, desperate to create space, to escape the tension humming between us like an electric wire. But I didn’t get far.In one breathless motion, Liam moved. His hands gripped my waist—firm, possessive—and then I was no longer standing. My back hit the bookshelf with a soft thud, the wood cool and jarring against my spine.I gasped, shocked. My body reacted before my mind could catch u

Liam looked stunned for a split second.I could see it—the slight hitch in his breath, the way his gaze lingered on me just a little too long. It was rare to catch him off guard, and I had done it with one kiss. A soft one. Barely there. But enough. My cheeks burned with the aftermath. I turned my face away, pretending to focus on my untouched plate, though the taste of tomato sirloin was the furthest thing from my mind.I could feel him watching me.Then he leaned in, his breath grazing my ear, his voice velvet-smooth and teasing. “My love, you seem to have left something on my lips.”I shot him a look, trying to keep my composure, though I could already feel a smile tugging at my lips. “You’re impossible.”Still, I reached for a napkin, my fingers brushing his chin as I dabbed at the corner of his mouth. His skin was warm. Close. Too close.Across the table, Robert Hart let out an exaggerated sigh, shaking his head like a disapproving father. “If you two are so infatuated, perhaps

AllisonVivian was just fishing.Tossing bait into still waters, hoping for chaos to bite back. But what she hadn’t expected—what none of us had expected—was how fiercely Liam would defend me. Even now, I could still hear his voice echoing at the dinner table, clear and resolute: "That guy was never good enough for my wife."A part of me wanted to shrink away under all the gazes that followed. The other part… wanted to reach across the table and hold Liam’s hand.I wasn’t blind. Vivian wasn’t finished. She never was. Stirring the pot was second nature to her, and I knew her game better than anyone. She’d smile and play sweet, all while planting thorns beneath every compliment. But Liam—he knew her too. And watching him dismantle her act piece by piece felt… satisfying. Vindicating, even.Dinner continued, but it was far from peaceful. Liam’s behavior only added fuel to the fire.He peeled shrimp for me, careful with every motion, setting the pieces gently on my plate like they were de

Adam Hart was the golden boy of A University’s medical department—brilliant, disciplined, emotionally unavailable. A genius in every sense of the word, and just as cold. People called him the “Ice Prince” for a reason. He wasn’t rude—just distant. Too distant to be touched. Too brilliant to be reached. And now… now he was about to meet me again. But this time, as family. As I followed Robert and Liam down the sweeping staircase of the Hart estate, the scent of fresh lilies and polished wood filled the air, but I barely noticed. My thoughts were knotted, tangled somewhere between dread and disbelief. Then I saw them—my father and Lisa Ruyan—waiting in the foyer. My heart thumped.“Mr. Hart,” my father said, offering his hand with his signature businesslike charm. “It’s an honor to be invited.”Robert returned the gesture with a practiced smile. “No need for such formality, Mr. Brooks. The children are already married. We’re family now.”Lisa stood at his side, graceful as always, thoug

The Hart estate was a vision of luxury—vaulted ceilings, sweeping staircases, gilded mirrors catching sunlight in all the right angles. But I barely saw any of it. My heartbeat thundered in my chest, louder than the echo of my heels against the marble floors. Every step forward felt heavier, each breath tighter. We were headed for the study.Liam’s hand brushed against mine before slipping into a firm hold. “Breathe, Allie,” he murmured gently, his voice calm against the roaring storm inside me.We stopped before a set of grand double doors, dark wood polished to a perfect shine.
