"Of course it's difficult. To put on a good performance, it's not something an ordinary pilot can do," Hazel said with a hint of pride in her voice.

Normally, Kelsey would have praised Hazel.

But thinking about the aerial maneuvers Patience had just performed, the words of praise stuck in his throat.

Before long, the flight show began.

Kelsey saw the plane that Patience had flown earlier in the performance lineup.

Because the camera was far from the plane, it was impossible to see who was inside.

But he had an inexplicable intuition that it should be Patience.

Hazel, watching the flight show, suddenly said, "By the way, when Lionel came to see me earlier, they mentioned Patience. She even said that flying a plane is no big deal. How arrogant!"

Kelsey pursed his lips and said with some difficulty, "What if she's not being arrogant?"

Hazel frowned and sneered, "If someone who has never flown a plane says that, what else could it be but arrogance? Kelsey, are you trying to defend her?"

"I'm not trying to defend her, but what if she can fly a plane?" Kelsey said.

Hazel's face took on a mocking expression.

She said, "She can fly a plane? You're not only insulting me but also insulting professional pilots!"

Kelsey paused for a moment—if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would have found it hard to believe too.

"I was just..."

"Enough, stop right there!" Hazel's face darkened, not wanting to hear any more of his attempts to defend Patience.

Kelsey pursed his lips and didn't continue the topic.

On the screen, the plane that Patience was flying kept performing high-difficulty maneuvers in the air. Even the live commentator was frequently amazed.

He said outright that the pilot flying this plane must be a seasoned aviator to put on such an impressive show.

Hazel, watching Kelsey who was intently staring at the screen, had a flash of displeasure in her eyes.

If she hadn't been injured, she would have been the one participating in the performance today, and it would have been her receiving the astonished glances of the crowd.

Especially since she was the first female captain of NY Airlines!

If it hadn't been for that accident while horse-riding...

Just thinking about how she fell off the horse while Patience tamed the wild horse and stole the spotlight made her feel like she had become a stepping-stone for Patience that day!

But Patience was really too arrogant. Just because she could ride a horse, did she think flying a plane would be just as easy?

How foolishly naive.

She would surely make Patience understand just how big the gap between them was one day.

Patience's POV

After the flight show ended, Yvette still had some cooperation to discuss, so I planned to leave on my own.

As soon as I stepped out of the exhibition hall, a black Maybach silently pulled up in front of me.

I recognized it at a glance—it was Cyrus's car.

The driver got out and opened the rear door respectfully, saying, "Mr. Gross would like to give you a ride."

"No, thank you. I can take a taxi," I politely declined.

"What, do you think I'm not qualified to give you a ride?" came the cool male voice from inside the car.

I bent down and saw Cyrus in the back seat.

He looked up at me, his eyes deep.

I rubbed my nose, knowing full well that there was no need to butt heads with someone like Cyrus.

Since he insisted on giving me a ride, I might as well save the taxi fare.

"Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Gross," I said, giving him my address.

As I got in the car, I caught a glimpse of Kelsey out of the corner of my eye.

He was standing there, his eyes filled with disbelief.

Inside the car, Cyrus suddenly spoke, "Ms. Frost, as the former captain of the Silverclaw Knights, your performance today was quite impressive."

I felt a chill.

He had looked into my background. I responded indifferently, "Thank you."

The cabin fell silent immediately.

Cyrus lowered his head and flipped through a book, but my gaze unconsciously fell on his fingers again.

Those hands had clearly defined knuckles and neatly trimmed nails. They looked like an artist's hands, beautiful and delicate.

Yet, there was also an inexplicable sharpness to them, more like hands that had been tempered and seen battle smoke.

At least from what I had seen earlier in the restaurant when he held the gun, I knew he was no ordinary shooter.

Just as I was thinking this, his cool voice suddenly rang in my ear, "You've been staring at my hands. Since you like them so much, do you really not want me to leave them to you?"

"Ahem!" I almost choked on my saliva and quickly averted my gaze. "No, I... I was just curious about the book you're reading."

"M's Avian Manuscript," Cyrus turned the cover of the book towards me.

My eyes lit up—I knew this book!

It was an extremely detailed collection of bird illustrations, featuring many rare hand-drawn avian images.

Because I had loved birds since I was young, I had heard about it and wanted to find a copy, only to discover it was out of print and not even available in libraries. I didn't expect to see it in Cyrus's possession.

"This book is very rare. It's out of print and can't even be borrowed from the library!" I couldn't help but say.

"The content is quite good. Would you like to take a look?" he asked.

"No, I'm almost at my place," I said.

Before long, the car pulled up in front of my place.

I got out of the car and had only taken a few steps when Cyrus's driver hurriedly caught up from behind, holding the book in his hands. "Ms. Frost, this book is yours now."

I was taken aback and quickly waved my hands. "No need, this is too precious. I'm not in a position to accept it."

"Just throw it away somewhere if you don't want it," he said. Without waiting for my response, the driver turned around and left.

I wanted to catch up with him, but Hattie, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, blocked my way.
