EMILY’S POV

I stood there for a moment, silently watching as Ethan disappeared out of the room and headed for the pool. The door closed gently behind him, but the tension he left behind still hung thick in the air like morning fog. I let out a soft sigh and rubbed my temples.

My emotions were a mess. The way he had gripped me earlier, the intensity in his voice, the fire in his eyes, it left a strange lingering heat inside me.

But above all, what stayed with me most was the fact that, despite his anger, despite his warnings, he still couldn’t stay away from me.

I returned to my room, the quiet footsteps on the wooden floor echoing softly. Once inside, I pulled off my clothes and stepped into the bathroom.

I let the warm water run down my body, trying to wash off not just the sweat of the day, but the guilt I felt for getting involved in something so complicated.

  • Seducing My Ex's Brother    Chapter 165

EMILY’S POVI arrived at the house, pulling up just beside the small garden I remembered so well. The same red roses were still blooming there, though slightly withered by the changing weather. The place hadn’t changed much, and that realization hit me harder than I expected.I stepped out of the car and gently shut the door behind me. My heels clicked softly against the stone pavement as I made my way up the front walkway. My chest tightened with every step. This house held memories, both beautiful and painful. And today, I was walking back into those memories.I saw her, Mrs. Lee. Lynn’s mother. She was standing just outside the house, near the backyard fence, spreading some clothes on the line to dry. A teenage boy stood beside her, helping her with the clothespins. I stopped for a moment and just stared. It had been months since I last came here. Too many, if I was being honest with myself. She spotted me.I instinctively lowered my head a little. I didn’t know why, maybe guilt, m

EMILY’S POVI thought she had approached me today because she’d figured it out. I thought she had connected the dots that she had realized I was the woman calling Ethan at midnight. But she hadn’t. She was still in the dark. Then how did she even get the idea that I was having an affair with him?"Why do you think I'm having an affair with him?" I asked, unable to hide the curiosity in my voice. My heart beat faster as I waited for her reply. A small part of me feared she might say something that would expose more than I was ready to face. Her lips tightened slightly, her eyes flickering with a memory. “I saw you two one day,” she said, her voice low. “In front of the Sinclair’s home.”My chest tightened.“The way he looked at you…” she paused, trying to find the right wor

EMILY’S POV"You’re asking me for advice?" I repeated, not because I didn’t hear her the first time, but because I genuinely couldn’t believe she was asking me.She nodded slowly, not meeting my eyes. Her face was buried in her hands, her elbows resting on her thighs, her entire posture folded inward like she was trying to hold herself together from the inside out."Yes," she murmured, her voice small, weary. "I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m getting tired. What do you think I should do? I'm going crazy, my mind is running wild,"I hesitated. My lips parted, but no words came out immediately. My mind was a carousel of thoughts, all spinning too fast for me to grab hold of one. What could I possibly tell her? What advice do you give to the woman your lover once married? To the mother of the child you

EMILY’S POV“Ma?” I repeated, the word feeling strange on my tongue, almost as if I was repeating something in a dream I hadn’t yet processed. I stared at her, waiting no, hoping for clarification. For something. Anything. Finally, Denise spared me a proper glance. It was the first time she looked directly at me since I walked in since it was just me without her daughter around me.“DNA?” I repeated again, softer this time, like the word itself had lost oxygen. She didn’t answer right away. Instead, she smiled faintly, then reached for her half-empty coffee cup, taking a calm sip like she hadn’t just shaken the foundation beneath my feet. Like she hadn’t just said something that could rearrange everything.“I’ll get you a coffee,” she said unexpectedly and rose from her seat before I could respond. She didn&r

EMILY’S POVThe drive to the kids' café was filled with a mix of curiosity and tension. I couldn’t ignore the steady pounding in my chest, not from fear exactly but from the heaviness of uncertainty.I kept playing different scenarios in my head, wondering why Denise wanted to meet, what she intended to say, and why she used her daughter as a means to get my attention. As I stepped inside the café, a gentle warmth wrapped around me, the place smelled like vanilla cupcakes, fresh coffee, and laughter of kids.Bright pastel colors lined the walls, tiny tables and chairs filled with children drawing, eating, or simply running around while their guardians sat and watched nearby. It was a cheerful place, joyful, safe, and full of innocence. A sharp contrast to the storm of emotions brewing inside me.My eyes scanned the room slowly, searching.
