Amy’s POV

He wore a shirt that showed off his arms, but there was not a spot of ink to be found. He had the smile of a viper, and his eyes raked over me, sending waves of heat across my skin. He was so vastly different from Antonio. If he shoved that smile away, he was quite good-looking: darkish blonde hair that had a golden hue at the tips, and emerald eyes that wanted to lure you in. Going off from what I could see, he was built. I had not noticed all of this back then at the masquerade party, but I could be excused for that because everyone was basically in a disguise for the night.

"I know I look good," he said, pushing a stray strand of hair that had fallen in my face behind my ear, "but this isn't going to work if we don't have a conversation."

I shook my head and behaved myself immediately. "No, I was just shocked. You look so..."

"So what?" he said, eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"Normal," I admitted.
