_Serafina’s POV_
“What should we do about the body?” Raphael asked as I pulled the veil over my face, completely shielding what I looked like from everyone else. I glanced at the girl who lay cold on the floor, my blank gaze burning into her. “Hide it. And take care of her family, no one must know about the switch.” I said, my voice devoid of emotions. It was quite unfortunate she was the bride. But I gave her a better ending than the fate she would have gotten if she had married that man. Dimitri Volkov, a man known to be the devil himself. I only had six months to do this. Infiltrate the empire of Dimitri Volkov, the Russian mafia king. My handlers had asked me to seduce, gain his trust, and then kill him. The killing part was going to be easy, but finding the information I wanted? That is what the six months were for. But I have never failed a mission, and this was going to end like the others, his blood staining my blades. I was still lost in thought when the door was slammed open and my head instantly snapped up. At the door stood Alexander, the father of the bride. My gaze went to where Raphael had been a moment ago to find him gone along with the body, and I turned back to Alexander. I opened my mouth to speak but I instantly thought against it. He would know the way his daughter sounds and that would be an instant give away. “What are you still doing here? The procession had started half an hour ago,” Alexander growled angrily, marching to where I stood. “Answer me!” He yelled as his hand made contact with my face, turning my head to the side. The impact brought back memories I had tried so hard to forget, but I pushed them back down, trying to control my anger. There was absolutely no reason to hit me. I clenched my hands tightly by the sides, my fingers digging into my palm as I tried to stop myself from gutting this man alive. I wouldn’t want to show up to a wedding with my dress stained with blood. He grabbed my arm tightly, pulling me towards him as he snarled in my face, “You better not think about running away, because if I catch you, I will kill you with my bare hands.” His sour breath hits my face, and I turned away, feeling disgusted. “I am sorry Father,” I say with my best timid voice. Keeping quiet was more dangerous than not saying anything in this situation. I just had to hope he doesn’t recognize the difference. “You… why do you sound weird?” He asked as he peered at my face. My fingers moved to the hilt of the dagger strapped to my thighs. I didn’t want to have to kill him yet because he was the father of the bride, but if worst comes to worst, I didn’t have a choice but to end him. This was a mission that had taken so long to prepare, jeopardizing it now was something I couldn’t do. “Father, Dimitri is getting impatient. Force her down if she doesn’t want to come,” an extra voice came from the door and I instantly recognized it as Marco, Celestine’s older brother. These two were known for the many crimes committed, but they weren’t my targets. Raphael would take care of them after the wedding. Silently, I walked past Alexander with my head down, stopping before Marco I said. “I want to get married.” Marco stares at me for a few minutes before turning around, and I follow after him silently. “Glad to see you have finally come to your senses. You should be happy you are finally going to be of good use to this family,” Marco said coldly as we walked to the church. We stopped in front of two large doors and I could hear the ongoing procession. My grip on the flowers tightened, but I tried to calm my best. This is it… the start of my mission. The moment I step past this door; I should be ready to die at any moment. Letting out a deep breath, I pushed the door open and stepped in. The church fell silent the moment I walked in and hundreds of eyes turned to me. I kept my head bowed as I made my way to the altar, their whispers finding its way to my ears. “Poor girl.” “So she is finally here.” “She must have been trying to escape.” I couldn’t react to their words because the poor helpless girl they were referring to was a distance away from here. But that didn’t change the fact that I had to be careful, if my veil were to fall off right now before her family gets taken care off, they would instantly know that I had taken her place. My heart beat steadily in my chest as I tried to control my breathing… until I saw him. Dimitri Volkov. He stood at the altar with a scowl on his face, and I used this opportunity to take him in. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and dressed in a black suit. His dark hair was perfectly slicked back with a few rebellious strands falling across his face. But it was his eyes that trapped me. They were cold. Pale grey. The color of smoke after fire, the kind that lingers long after everything has burned. His eyes reminded me of what he does, burning everything in his path. Even through the veil, I could feel his gaze on my face. He didn’t just look dangerous. He was danger. He would watch the world fall apart without lifting a finger. Every movement he made was controlled. The way his fingers flexed at his sides, the way his gaze followed me as I took each step closer. It was like a predator tracking its prey. I could almost hear the warning bells in the air: don’t look too long. But I couldn’t stop. No one warned me that the devil could look like this. He wasn’t supposed to be beautiful. He wasn’t supposed to make my pulse race like this. And when our eyes finally met, my breath caught. A slow smirk curved his mouth, like he already owned me. And in that moment, I understood why everyone feared him. Dimitri Volkov wasn’t just the kind of man you ran from. He was the kind that made you want to look back, even knowing he’d be the last thing you ever saw._Serafina’s POV_My heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach as I thought of a lie to say. How much had he heard? Was I safe? I couldn't tell by just reading his face but he looked really angry. “Who were you talking to, Celestine. And what’s going well.” he growled out, eyes darkening. This was the first time I had heard him call me a name and that showed how upset he was getting. I needed to say something, I needed to do something. My brain went haywire as I thought of an answer, my lips parting slightly. Each answer I could think of ended with my head on a platter. I couldn't think of a valid answer that wouldn't lead to me dying as his cold gaze pinned me down. “If you don't answer me right now…” he started and I blurted one thing that came to mind. “A surprise!” I lied, swallowing hard as I hoped he bought the lie. “I found out about your birthday and I was planning a surprise part for you. I was on a call with my friend as she suggested what I should do.” I rambled on
_Serafina’s POV_Dimitri stared at me, like he was waiting to see what I was going to do about the disrespect. I had thought about ignoring it, until Alessandro opened his mouth once again. “Oh? She can’t even do anything without seeking your permission, you got the best toy Dimitri.” He mocked, throwing his head back as his chest shook with laughter. Something in me snapped. A few other people at the table laughed along and my grip on my cloth tightened. I am not Celestine. I wouldn’t be accepting any disrespect especially in front of a man who had just dominated me. If I was going to act as the wife of such a man, I had to proof i wasn’t weak. One moment I was sitted, face blanched as though I would swallow the insult, the next i had moved. My hand shot out, and I grabbed him by the back of his neck.“What the—“ he started, but before he could finish I slammed his face straight into the table. Thr crack echoed through the room, everywhere falling silent. But that wasn’t en
_Serafina’s POV_When I woke up, I was naked in the middle of the bed, and Dimitri was nowhere to be found.I let out a pained groan as I tried to push myself up from the bed but my arms gave out beneath me and I fell right back. The entire room spun around me and I shut my eyes, trying to steady myself. I was feeling dizzy. My entire body ached from how rough Dimitri was last night, my pussy seemed sore and I let out a slight hiss when I tried to move my leg. He really wasn't joking when he said he wasn't into ‘sweet love making’.But that didn't mean he should pound me like that though. But I was happy it got the first part of my mission done, I had established a sexual relationship between us both and it would only be a matter of time before he does whatever I ask from him. Opening my eyes once more, I looked around the room and realized I was actually still in Dimitri’s room, and he was nowhere to be found. That was good, I had the chance to search his room. If there were a
_Serafina’s POV_My heart raced in my chest as Dimitri made his way towards me. He walked past me, and my ears pricked up in curiosity. Where was he going? I heard the sound of a drawer opening and closing and then the sound of his footsteps as he walked back to me. Dante stood in front of me, his shoes in sight as I kept my eyes on the ground in front of me. Before I could react, he placed a blindfold over my eyes, cutting off my vision and my heart skipped a beat. What…I swallowed hard when he cupped my face, raising my head. All I saw was darkness, my lips parting as I breathed softly through my mouth. “Choose a safeword,” he said darkly and I took a moment to think. “Red.” Because red was the color of blood and I would be painting this room with his blood soon. “For tonight, you would choose your preferred method of punishment. You've been a bad girl lately.” His tone made my pussy throb harder and I breathed heavily. “What are my options? Master.” The title seemed
_Serafina’s POV_I made my way back to my room, my heart racing in my chest as the feeling of his touch ran through my mind. What had just happened now? I could feel the slight throb of my pussy and I almost slapped myself for the thoughts I was getting. Was I getting turned on? And by the thought of Dimitri who had choked me in his office after he caught me snooping around? Serafina you are truly unbelievable. I let out a groan, almost slamming my head against a wall. But I didn't miss the look in his eyes, I wasn't the only one who felt this way. I could tell that the subtle searching I was doing quite obviously wouldn't work. I needed information strong enough to bring the mafia king to his knees along with his entire empire. And the only way I could get such information was from him himself. I needed to seduce him and make him fall for me. Or at least trust me enough to give me the information I wanted. My gaze fell on the mirror and I slowly pushed my robe to aside. My
_Serafina’s POV_It was morning when the news came. I had been practicing my crying technique all through the night, I needed to perfect the wail and tears. And when Dimitri walked through that door, I knew I had to make it believable. His eyes roamed over the room before they met mine on the bed. “Your brother and father are both dead. They got into a car crash,” Dimitri said as he tossed a letter on the bed right next to me. His voice was cold, devoid of any emotion. One would think he was simply talking about the weather and not the death of his in-laws.I hadn’t expected him to come give the news himself, Thank God I practiced hard. My hands shook as I reached for the letter and then came the tears. “I don’t believe it,” I whispered as I shook my head, the tears rolling down my cheek. “I had nothing to do with their deaths,” he added like I, or rather, like Celestine was meant to find that comforting. I wanted to add that I knew he had nothing to do with it, after all I k
