Chapter 2

I turned and left under the shocked stares of all the healers in the pack.

After returning home, I took off the tailored red dress I'd brought just for the party.

Whenever it came to Damon, I was always the one who planned far in advance, just so he'd never feel embarrassed having an Omega like me at his side.

In my past life, when he grumbled about feeling stressed and needing a break, I booked flights and a beach villa in Alohara six months ahead.

I flew over only to find out that he hadn't gone to any party at all. Instead, he took Raven off-road climbing. I was instructed to tag along as their healer.

When we were climbing, rocks suddenly came loose above us. Just as a boulder was about to hit Raven, Damon grabbed her in that moment of danger and dodged, exposing me below.

I was struck by the rocks and thrown off the cliff, falling into a jungle shrouded in poisonous mist. That incident left me poisoned and unconscious for a month.

In this life, all I wanted was to stay alive.

I packed my bags, grabbed my travel pass for Coghaven, and got ready to leave.

Just as I stepped downstairs, Damon pushed the door and entered in hunting gear. When he saw me, he let out a cold laugh and yanked my suitcase away. Then, he slammed it onto the floor.

I frowned. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

His gaze darkened as he couldn't hold back his rage and yelled, "You're one manipulative bitch, Thalia! Are you packing your bags and writing another letter to my father like last time?"

Raven walked in, clad in a long, graceful dress. Her soft voice was edged with thorns as she chimed in, "Thalia, if you wanted to come to Damon's coming-of-age ceremony, you could've just said so. You two grew up together, so he'd never have shut you out.

"Running to the Alpha over such trivial matters might work once, but doing it twice is just pathetic."

Looking at the disgust and probe in their eyes, I almost laughed.

That was when I remembered that back in my past life, when I was in high school, I cried my eyes out over their relationship and rushed to the Alpha for justice. I threatened to drink wolfsbane if Damon wouldn't break up.

When my threat reached Alpha and Luna, they forced Damon to cut Raven off. From that day forward, he underwent a complete transformation.

Now, I stared him down and said, "You're overthinking it. I'm not telling the Alpha anything, and I'm just packing for something else."

Damon scoffed, clearly thinking I was making excuses.

Beside him, Raven stepped closer and murmured, "Damon, let's just have Thalia come with us. She looks really eager to come."

He glanced at me and started to waver, but I shut it down immediately. "I'm going to Harborwatch."

Damon scoffed. "You're too kind, Raven, but she doesn't know how to appreciate it."

"Stop being difficult, Thalia. Just come with us," Raven said as she walked up to me and reached out a clawed finger toward my eye.

With her back turned to Damon, it seemed as if she were trying to brush my hair.

I instinctively dodged and shoved her away. But somehow, she was thrown a few feet back and immediately cried out, "Thalia… why'd you hit me?"
