Clar was practicing yoga late at night when she suddenly felt an overwhelming hunger. The emptiness in her stomach was impossible to ignore, and she couldn't help but imagine various delicious dishes: "I really crave sweet and sour potatoes, braised pork, mapo tofu, and snail noodles..." This intense longing was clearly driven by her extended period without food.
It had been five days since Clar crossed into this unfamiliar beast world, and she noticed her weight steadily increasing. To counter this, she decided to take action and began a strict weight loss plan. Her routine included daily aerobic exercises, running five laps around the cave during the day, and in the evenings, practicing yoga on two animal skins for anaerobic exercise.
Clar had originally been a second-year English major, living a simple, structured life. Outside of studying and completing assignments, she often worked part-time, and in her free time, she played games or read novels. Growing up with her grandparents while her parents worked away from home, Clar had learned to enjoy her own company. During the May Day holiday, she picked up a novel she had recently become engrossed in—"The Beast World Handsome Men Collection." As she followed the heroine's journey to find her love, Clar felt a deep sense of happiness for her.
Although Clar had always hoped for a passionate college romance, her independent personality made it difficult for her to take the initiative, so she had remained single.
After finishing the novel, Clar had strong criticisms of the villainous female character, who shared her name. Not only did this character oppress her own beast husbands, but she also insulted the other females in her tribe and frequently clashed with the heroine. Clar was deeply unimpressed by this character and wrote a scathing critique at the end of the book.
However, as soon as she finished typing the last line, disaster struck—the train derailed. The carriage tilted violently, and the screams of panic filled the air. A flash of bright light followed, and Clar lost consciousness.
When she awoke, Clar was shocked to find herself in the very beast world she had just read about. Since she had skimmed through the novel to get to the plot faster, she had not paid much attention to the world-building and forgotten many details about the beast world.
When Clar regained consciousness, she found herself lying on a cold stone bed, surrounded by rocks. She felt confused and asked herself, "Wasn't I just in the train? Where am I now?" Struggling to lift her head, she used the rocks for support and shakily stood up.
Looking down at her body, she was horrified: "How could this be? My legs are so thick now, and my stomach has all these extra rolls of fat!" She carefully examined her clothes, realizing they were completely different from what she had been wearing on the train. Instead, she wore a leopard-print top made of animal hide and a short skirt, also made from the same material. This unfamiliar attire only added to her confusion.
Her head became even dizzier, and her body trembled uncontrollably. She thought, "This isn't my body—have I been reincarnated as someone else?" Realizing the symptoms of low blood sugar, she knew she had to get up and figure out what had happened.
After taking a few steps, Clar carefully surveyed her surroundings. Aside from the stone bed, the cave was barren—there was nothing else, not even a weed. It was eerily empty.
There was also a terrible stench in the cave. Following the smell, Clar discovered that it was coming from a pit next to the bed. She approached it and found that it was filled with excrement. The foul odor nearly made her vomit.
"Ugh…" She fought the urge to throw up as the disgusting smell overwhelmed her.
Just then, a voice from outside the cave called out, "Clar, here’s the food assigned to you." Two tall men entered the cave. They appeared almost primitive, resembling ancient cave dwellers.
Their hair was messy, and they stood over six feet tall. Their muscular torsos were bare, showing eight-pack abs that moved with their breaths, and their lower bodies were wrapped in what appeared to be animal skins.
Clar stared at them, and one of them angrily shouted, "Hey, Clar, what are you looking at? Even if you're interested in me, I won’t become your mate, so get that thought out of your head."
The other man added, "Clar, you evil female, because of you, Alex and Lucas haven’t returned in three days with food for you."
Hearing this, Clar had an epiphany. "Mate," "Alex," "Lucas"—these were the male protagonists from the novel she had read on the train. She realized she had indeed crossed over into the beast world, and worse, she had become the villainous female character from the story.
At this point, she guessed that the story was set at a time when the villainess was starting to gain weight and needed more food. The meat allocated by the tribe was no longer enough for her, so she had started to take food from her beast husbands and demanded they go to the Dark Forest to hunt the Beast King’s meat.
In the novel’s world, the villainess’s beast husbands were fairly strong, one being a fourth-level and the other a fifth-level. However, to kill the Beast King, one needed at least a sixth-level ability. In the entire tribe, only her father and Hu Chuan had reached this level.
According to the story, male beasts would typically remain at level three unless they broke through to level four, after which they could continue progressing to become powerful figures in the tribe, or even across the beast world.
A few days later, Clar sent the two beast husbands into the Dark Forest. When they returned to the tribe, they were battered and bruised, blood covering their bodies.
The villainess paid no attention to their injuries and instead snatched the Beast King’s meat from their hands and devoured it greedily. The heroine, Ava, the most beautiful female fox in the tribe, saw this and immediately went to fetch the tribe’s healer to treat their wounds.
Ava had always loved Alex, a fellow fox tribe member, but had been manipulated by Clar using aphrodisiac herbs. Though Ava failed to win Alex’s body, the tribe still forced them to become mates.
Ava had reluctantly given up on Alex, but when she saw how miserable his life had become, she decided to reclaim him. During Alex’s recovery, Ava took care of him while Clar never visited him.
When Lucas saw how much Ava cared for Alex, he couldn’t help but mock himself, feeling like he was nothing more than a beast husband bought by Clar, not much better than an animal. If it weren’t for his fifth-level ability, he probably would have been killed by Clar already.
In the beast world, male mates could never defy their female counterparts, or they would be expelled from the tribe and become outcast beasts.
“Clar, you’re awake. I prepared some food for you. Lucas went to level up. He probably won’t be back for a while,” Luna said as he placed the meal in front of her.Clar had spent the entire night thinking about Luna and had completely forgotten to wonder why Lucas hadn’t returned. After a sleepless night of reflection, she finally made up her mind.“Luna… I’ve thought it through. I like you. So I’m willing… I’m willing to mark you.”The sudden confession early in the morning startled Luna so much that the roasted meat in his hand froze midair, forgotten.Joy brightened his eyes, softening his expression. The smile at the corners of his lips deepened unconsciously. But then something crossed his mind, and that happiness quickly shifted into urgency.“I’m sorry, Clar. The tribe is going on a group hunt today. I won’t be able to make furniture for you.”Clar hadn’t expected the collective hunt to come so soon. “It’s okay, Luna. I’ll wait for you.”Relieved by her words, Luna left with ne
After cutting the hollow tree into sections, Lucas used his sharp claws to refine the shape of the wood. Wood shavings scattered in the air, and within only a few breaths, a wooden bathtub large enough to fit Clar was completed. Inside it, he had even carved several small wooden bowls.Clar was stunned. She had always known beastmen were powerful, but she had never expected such precision. When she ran her fingers along the inner surface, it felt smooth and flawless, without the slightest splinter. The care and attention in the craftsmanship made her heart warm.If only they had a table and chairs. After days of sitting on the ground to eat, she still couldn’t get used to it. Once the thought surfaced, it refused to leave.“Lucas, I’d also like a table… and a few chairs. It might be complicated, but can we bring the wood back and make them slowly?”She looked up at him expectantly. After all, improving one’s life was built on small, gradual changes.“Of course we can,” Lucas replied w
Lucas carefully split the "Empty Tree" into several pieces and used his sharp beast claws to shape the hollow wood. In a matter of moments, a bath basin large enough to fit Clar’s body was completed, along with several small wooden bowls inside.Clar’s jaw almost dropped in surprise—she hadn’t expected the beastman's claws to be so effective. The wood felt smooth to the touch, with no sharpness at all. She was touched by how thoughtful Lucas was.“I didn’t know you were this skilled, Lucas!” Clar was so impressed, she started thinking of other items she could ask him to make. She had been sitting on the ground to eat for so long, it was becoming uncomfortable.“I was wondering if you could also make a table and a few chairs for me,” she asked, hoping Lucas could help."Of course, Clar. I’d love to make them for you," Lucas said, eager to see how the things she wanted would turn out.Clar smiled at his response, feeling hopeful. Life really could become a bit more comfortable, piece by
"Clar, you’re exactly the kind of person I’ve always liked. Is it because I’ve been injured and couldn’t hunt for you? You’ve only been eating prickly fish, and now you’ve lost so much weight."Lucas’s heart was burning with excitement. It wasn’t just because Clar had redeemed him, but also because he was thrilled by her transformation. The Clar he remembered must have been possessed by something unclean. The Clar standing before him now was the real one, and he was relieved that the previous version of her was gone.“Have I really lost weight?” Clar focused on the latter part of Lucas’s sentence. Every girl dislikes being complimented on losing weight, right?Great, the weight loss plan worked, Clar thought. Not only had the fat on her stomach disappeared, but her features had also become more refined. Her large, expressive deer-like eyes blinked on her delicate face. She looked incredibly cute, almost like a sweet rice dumpling. Lucas couldn’t help but want to hug her.If I could ho
“Clar, you’re exhausted.”Lucas’s heart was ablaze—not just because Clar had redeemed herself in his eyes, but because the Clar he remembered had been possessed by her pride and cruelty, far from the compassionate, vulnerable person she had become. He could barely recognize her now, and that realization both confused and fascinated him.“Have I really lost weight?” Clar focused on herself in the reflection of the cave walls, a faint blush creeping across her cheeks. So glad the weight-loss plan is working, Clar thought with a smile. If I could hold it together, maybe I’ll finally feel better about myself. Her mind raced with new resolutions, and she caught herself admiring her progress for the first time in a long while. As she basked in her accomplishment, Lucas caught her eye and smiled.“Well, I must say, you’re looking good.”Clar froze. She didn’t realize just how much her appearance had changed—she’d been too focused on weight loss to notice the deeper transformation, not only i
“Grandpa—don’t go!”Clar rushed out of the cave, reaching toward the fading presence of the Beast God.But the moment his voice vanished—Time resumed. The world snapped back into motion.Luna blinked, regaining awareness. When he saw Clar running away, a sharp pain pierced his chest.“Clar… don’t you want me anymore?”There was no dominance in his voice.Only vulnerability.Clar froze. She remembered the mission.Seven male leads.Spirit stones.Affection values. If she succeeded, she could resurrect her modern body.If she failed—She might be erased entirely.Yes, the Elk Tribe could be annoying. But she had made a real friend. And Luna… Luna’s feelings were painfully sincere. She stopped chasing the fading divinity and turned back.“Luna… don’t be like this. I won’t dissolve the bond.”She hesitated, awkward.“I’ve never dated before… In our world, mates don’t just rush into things. We spend time together first.”She didn’t believe in instant love.If she was going to “conquer” an
