Chapter 39
Just as they took steps towards the building, explosions were everywhere around them. Nick grabbed Ivy, they crashed to the ground.
“Stay down!” Nick yelled. “We’re under attack! White Dwellers!”
Ivy covered her head from the flying debris she knew it was Quinn that was attacking, she knew it was only a matter of time before he would be on her and she would be back with him. Magic and crashing, screaming and people dying all around her scaring her. She wanted to get up and fight but she wasn’t sure what she could do. She felt Nick moving away from her.
Looking over to him, he wasn’t there anymore.

Ivy opened her eyes; she wanted everything to be a dream. She wanted to be lying next to Nick and everything to be back to normal, but she was in a dark room. Ivy jerked her eyes open, the sun was shining through the window. She wasn’t sure what time it was. She sat up, the room was still spinning so she didn’t bother to try and get out of bed until Samuel came into the room with the tea. He didn’t come for a few hours and when he did he didn’t say anything. She drank the tea without much effort; Samuel helped her out of bed. She managed to walk down the stairs with help, but she still felt like crap. She tried to reach Quinn but he didn’t respond to her. The house was a lot less noisy today, she didn’t mind that. She wanted to go outside and see if she could get some air, but she knew she wouldn’t get that, so she didn’t bother to ask.
