“Jace?” The manager called as he darted across the lobby of Athena, glancing briefly at Jace before darting sharply towards the elevator. “Follow me.”

Jace’s heart sank. His hands turned clammy instantly and he rubbed them against each other anxiously.

He’d never been individually acknowledged by the manager. At least, not after he became an employee. His heart raced wildly in his chest as he approached the private elevator to join the manager.

Had he found out about the damage he’d caused—wrecking the trolley—while shamelessly breaking the third rule by making out with a client?

Had the penthouse client snitched on him for refusing to deliver his orders?

If he’d found out, why wait until after a week?

Did he, perhaps, want him to feel comfortable until he strike? Waiting for the right moment?

Where was he even taking him?

Wild thoughts raced through Jace’s mind as the elevator shut close with a ding, deliberating on whether he made the right choice to follow hin to wherever he was taking him or just resign instantly.

Jace took a sharp exhale as the elevator ascended slowly.

After an awkward silence, the manager finally spoke up. “Anything you want to tell me?”

Jace decided it was best to come clean and began, hoping he’d still be spared the grace to resign rather than fired. “Sir, I—”

The manager cut him short with a ‘shush’, his index finger pressed against his lip with a frown.

“We’re here.” Then, it hit him.

Realization dawned on him, but he badly prayed it wasn’t true. The elevator dinged open to reveal the familiar feeling of the short hallway that led to the penthouse.

The manager had brought him to the penthouse. He anxiously followed.

They entered the penthouse suit and peppermint with lemon looded Jace’s nostrils in an overpowering manner that Jace almost thought he’d sneeze.

“Welcome,” the client said calmly. It was as if he was expecting them.

Jace’s eyes darted around warily to find the voice to only to see his unreadable gaze perfectly trained on him.

And this time, he was clad in an Armani suit Jace had never thought he’d see on him.

Hell, he wasn’t even sure he had any clothes.

Jace’s body stiffened like someone had shoved ramrod up his spine, his stomach turning to ice.

Eyes of grey like storm clouds stared at him, as if he could see through his soul and unravel every secret he’d hidden deep inside him. Jace felt himself shiver at the intensity of his gaze.

What was he doing here?!

Had he told the manager anything?

Was he trying to get him fired?!

“Mr. Toussaint here says there’s been a change in his usual orders,” the manager finally spoke, breaking their eye contact. “His usual bottle of 2018 Carbanet has been replaced by Chablis, a brand he’s not well accustomed to. Do you know anything about that?”

Toussaint, what a name. Jace scoffed.

But why was he complaining about his order? Since that night, Jace had made a very pointed effort to not deliver his order again, lest it happen again. And yet, here he was, trying to ruin everything he’d worked so hard to get.

“Well, I…I haven’t been in charge of his orders for the past few days—”

“A week,” Toussaint corrected, sharply cutting Jace off. “You haven’t been in charge of my orders for a week.”

Jace felt frustration slowly building up in him. Was he really mad that he wasn’t in charge of his order? That’s what all of this was about?!

“Yes, a week,” Jace corrected himself with a curt nod. “…but only because it overlaps with my check-out time, so the next person on shift has to be in charge of that instead.”

“Your shift ends by 12:30AM. Surely, one more order wouldn’t hurt before checking out.” The manager moved closer to Jace, a sneer forming on his face. “I’m concerned with why you prioritize your comfort over our client’s!”

Jace gulped nervously as the manager’s grip on his shoulder tightened. “I duly apologize, sir.”

“Is your apology going to fix this?! Do you think—”

Jace began hyperventilating, his chest heaving. It felt like the walls were closing in on him. His lungs seemed to forget how to breathe, his vision slowly turning red with spots. His breaths soon came out shallower than the previous, his panic attack slowly rearing its head.

Not now, Jace mentally pleaded, not now.

“Mr. David, thank you,” Toussaint said calmly, his voice cold.

He seized the manager’s hand off Jace’s shoulder, forcing it back to his side. “You’ve helped quite enough, and I’ll take it from here.”

Toussaint didn’t wait for a reply as he dismissed David.

After the door clicked shut at David’s exit, Toussaint hurled Jace into his chest, placing his head against it.

“You’re fine,” Toussaint muttered coaxingly, “breathe with me.”

Jace found his body slowly stabilizing, his body slowly recovering from the panic attack as he felt his body pressed against Toussaint’s solid body.

He was recovering himself. That alone brought a blissful feeling, except for the fact that he had been clinging onto Toussaint desperately.

His eyes landed on the floor where his uniform and pride had come off with need, memories flooding his head.

Strange as it was, Jace felt an uncomfortable twitch in his pants and he quickly disengaged from the hug or whatever he’d call it.

How could he feel so turned on in such a moment?

Frustrated, Jace stormed out without a word, getting into the hallway that led to the elevator.

“Jace, wait.”

Toussaint seized his hands in the hallway, pinning him against a wall as he rushed him.

“What the fuck?!” Jace muttered as his back hit the wall, Toussaint ridiculously near him that Jace could feel his hot breath hovering over his skin. “There’s a change in your fucking order?!”

Jace felt infuriated. He had brought it upon himself, he’d caved in to his lust, filling his head and letting himself get swept away by his own desire. Now, he was being played.

“Why the fuck is that my business? Why are you pulling me into all of these?”

“I couldn’t reach you!” Toussaint thundered, caging Jace in his arms against the wall. “I waited for you, but you never came again. You conveniently let others serve me. Why shouldn’t I?”

“So you decided to play fast and loose with my job?! I could’ve gotten fired!”

Toussaint’s breath hitched, but his eyes didn’t flinch. “I didn’t mean to jeopardize your job, Jace.”

Jace scoffed, still pinned, his heart slamming beneath his ribs. “Then what did you mean to do? What is this—what are you doing to me?”

Toussaint’s hands were planted on either side of Jace’s head, but his gaze softened for just a moment. “You think you’re the only one confused?”

Jace blinked.

“I wasn’t supposed to… feel anything.” Toussaint’s voice dropped low and almost… vulnerable. “But you looked at me like you saw something I was trying to bury.”

Jace swallowed hard. “So what? You thought kissing me would fix that?”

Toussaint’s answers didn’t come with words. He leaned in, just a breath away, hovering above his face with an expression he couldn’t describe.

Jace’s lips parted unconsciously as his throat bobbed.

“Tell me to stop,” Toussaint murmured, his eyes flickering down.

But Jace couldn’t.

Not when his own breath betrayed him.

Not when his pulse begged for chaos.

Toussaint’s lips crashed against Jace’s and he kissed him hard.

It wasn’t gentle or asking. It was heat and frustration, a war between self-control and surrender. Jace clenched the front of Toussaint’s suit as he pressed closer, claiming his mouth with a hot intensity.

Their teeth clashed, their hot breath tangled as their hands pulled, grabbed and roamed their bodies with raw need.

Toussaint’s knee slid between Jace’s thighs, anchoring him to the wall, his fingers weaving into Jace’s curls to tilt his head back for better access.

Jace moaned, hating how easily he melted into it, hating how good it felt.

Because he wasn’t supposed to want this. But oh, how he melted in his arms.

Toussaint finally broke the kiss but his hands never left Jace’s body and hair. Their chests heaved in unison, gazes raw with vulnerability and need.

Toussaint tilted Jace’s head, angling it upward for better access. He lowered his lips to Jace’s, lips gently claiming Jace’s swollen lips.

This kiss was filled with passion and warmth. Toussaint’s tongue slid slowly into Jace’s mouth, exploring and fighting for dominance.

His hands pinched Jace’s nipples against his shirt but Jace held his hands. He dragged his hands over the buttons instead, prying them open slowly until they were loosely hanging on his body. Jace let the clothes slide down easily, revealing his slender body.

Toussaint stepped back briefly, bringing Jace under the light as he let himself drown in the sight of Jace’s perfectly slender body.

“What?” Jace asked, confused and ridden with insecurity.

Toussaint dragged his eyes back to Jace’s face, digging his fingers into his curly hair as he stared at him with a dark, drunken gaze.

“Gods, you’re perfect.”

Jace found himself blushing furiously at the compliment.

He’d always been told how ‘beautiful’ he was, but perfect from Toussaint sounded like calling him a god.

Toussaint swept Jace off his feet in one go, taking him back to the penthouse as he showered him with kisses. He trailed kisses down Jace’s shoulder, chest and back to his throat as his teeth sank into the delicate flesh, marking Jace with soft nipping that left Hickeys on his skin.

“I want to feel you,” Jace whispered hurriedly against Toussaint’s lips, his breath quickening.

He found himself drowning in pleasure.

Toussaint’s eyes darkened with pleasure and he disengaged. A sly smirk appeared on his lips, and he dropped Jace to the floor. He crossed the floor between them, holding Jace’s hands in his. He brought them to his collar, quietly urging Jace to unbutton his shirt by himself.

“I’m all yours, Jace.”

He muttered before stealing Jace’s breath away with a needy kiss, kissing every part of his face like he’d been starved of it for so long.

Jace was a dove caged by a dangerous viper wrapped around him, strangling and sucking the light out of him—except this was of pleasure.

Jace finally stripped Toussaint down to his briefs, palming his swelling cock through the thin layer of fabric that threatened to break due to the expansion.

Jace’s skin felt ablaze with blood and so much heat as Toussaint’s lips marked every inch of his body and not without leaving a trail, each spot covered with hickey as if he’d meant to brand him as his.

“Toussaint, please,” Jace whimpered, “I need you now. Don’t make me die of pleasure.”

“Pleasure? We haven’t even started that yet.”

Jace’s stomach sank in anticipation of what was coming next.

“That was…mind-blowing.” Jace was the first to speak.“I know, I’m a good fuck. It’s why I always wanted you to have an experience.” Toussaint responded breathlessly while Jace turned pink with embarrassment. His fatigue and the air had added to his charm, making him sexier than usual.“Whore.” Jace replied with a breezy laugh.“Proud one,” he retorted. “Let’s get you cleaned up.” Toussaint rose from the bed.“Think you can still walk?”“Are you kidding? I don’t think I’ll be able to do that for a while.”Jace shot his arms out like a child begging to be carried. He felt how odd it was, but he just wanted to live in the moment. So he did.“Then I did a very good job.” Toussaint winked and picked him up from the bed, marching toward the shower in a bridal style. He dropped him in the tub, joined him there, and then scrubbed his body and back.“Since you won’t be able to work for a while, as you said…” Toussaint began. “How about you stay up here and just recover? Or see if I could do

Themes: Mysterious stranger, slow burn, one night-stand, BDSM.The call came in just as he was clocking out.Jace didn’t need to check the screen to know who it was. A sigh escaped his lips as he wondered if he’d ever get a break from the client who ordered late at night, mostly when he was about to check out. It was the client from the penthouse suite, the same client who ordered at odd hours. Not wanting to stall him or delay his own checking out later than it already was, he picked up. “Room service, Jace speaking. Good evening, how may I help?”“Same order,” the client said coldly, a hint of boredom in his deep voice. “Send it up hot.”The line clicked dead after that, and despite serving more than once now, the coldness still felt unfamiliar to him. He wasn’t even polite enough to give a “thank you” or “please”.Jace sighed and pulled the latest ticket from the printer. A rare steak, sautéed mushrooms, and a bottle of 2018 Cabernet. The order was complicated, of course—except th
