Six!

Author's POV

Liam stood there frozen as she clutched him tightly, as if her life depended on it. So tightly that he almost knocked the breath out of his lungs. He knew that humans can get extraordinary strength in panic mode but never thought this much. He didn't touch her.

He looked at his mom confused, not knowing what to do in this situation. Lisa was equally shocked but more shocked because Liam wasn't pushing her away. He doesn't like it when anyone touches him. Someone else would have ended up on the floor.

But in all of that, he was feeling something different in her hold, something new. He wasn't irritated. Why did her hold make him feel protective of her? He almost hugged her back, almost.

"She doesn't trust anyone."

The doctor carefully said and silently handed him the syringe behind her back.

Liam understood and took it. He broke the hug and made that girl look at him, his hand gently lifted her delicate chin.

"Do you trust me?"

He whispered, caressing her chin with his thumb.

She looked at him blankly, not giving any expression. But noticed the syringe in his hand and gulped.

"This is to treat you. You are safe here."

He has never talked to anyone this gently.

The girl stood there silently as Liam injected her arm. She flinched in pain and grabbed his arm again. It was surprising that the girl who wasn't letting anyone touch her was ready to get injected by him.

He scooped her in his arms again and placed her on the bed. But she clutched on his collar again when he was about to step back. She shook her head like she was requesting him not to leave.

Liam looked at her confused, but understood what she wanted.

"Don't worry, you are safe."

He said but she clung to him again.

Lisa was watching everything silently, this was the first time she was seeing Liam's different side. He was almost caring and shockingly he stayed. Maids were also shocked.

The girl soon fell asleep and Liam stepped away from her. His heart was beating weirdly. And he was struggling to point out what. People were scared of him till now, she is the first one who is looking at him as a protector.

It's hard for him to believe that he is the one.

"It's so strange that she is trusting you. Otherwise, with this kind of trauma, it's hard to control patients."

The doctor said.

"Probably because she knows I saved her from Jaffery and the fire. How's her health?"

Liam asked.

"She was probably in captivity for around a week as her body hasn't lost much weight but she is weak. There are many scars on her body, she has been beaten with belts. And drugged many times to keep in control."

She explained.

Liam felt his blood boiling.

"God! How can someone do that to an innocent girl... What kind of monsters they were."

Lisa said disgusted.

Liam rubbed his face and controlled his anger. He had no idea why he was feeling so angry. He doesn't even know the girl.

"Have they.... Have they..."

He couldn't understand how to ask.

"You know what I mean."

The doctor nodded.

"I checked her private parts... There are no injuries or any signs of sexual assault. Maybe they wanted something else from her."

Liam felt himself taking a breath of relief.

"How are you going to fix her?"

"She is in trauma right now... She needs some time to realise that she is safe and no one is going to hurt her. Then she might recover... I would suggest keeping her away from violence and making her feel loved."

She suggested and left after suggesting medicines.

After some time Lisa met Louis.

"You should have been there."

She exclaimed excited.

"She hugged him and he didn't say anything... My god, it was a moment."

Louis just chuckled at her.

"She trusts him and he cares... I see potential here."

"You are rushing."

Louis replied.

"She is in trauma... We don't know anything about her. Who is she, where is she from? If she is married or not."

Lisa huffed.

"But I see chemistry... I hope something happens between them."

Meanwhile, Glenn was ready with all her information.

"What's the update, Glenn?"

Liam had never been so impatient for anything like this before. He wanted to know who she was.

"You remember Jaffery killed his elder brother a few days back?"

Glenn asked.

Liam nodded.

"To get all the property."

"Exactly! He killed his brother's entire family except his daughter."

He informed.

"The girl you found is his daughter."

Liam frowned.

"I have never heard about her."

"Her father kept her away from the media and the limelight so I don't have any information about her. Even her studies are done abroad. She doesn't know anyone here."

Glenn continued.

"Why jaffery kept her captive? Does she have anything with her which he wanted?"

Liam asked suspiciously.

"Her own uncle and cousins tortured her. Why?"

Now he understood why they didn't sexually assault her, because she was their cousin. Well, at least they were human enough to understand relationships.

"She was heir of her father's property which Jaffery snatched forcefully from her, he might be torturing her for fun."

Glenn suggested.

Liam shook his head.

"A man like him would never keep anyone alive after his work is done... She must be having something else which he wanted. But what?"

He sighed.

"Dig deeper... There must be something. And find out if anyone from her family is alive or not. There should be someone."

Glenn nodded and turned around to leave. He was almost gone when Liam stopped him.

"Glenn"

He turned around and looked at his boss.

"Yes, boss"

He asked.

"What's her name?"

Liam asked curiously.

"Elena Lorence!"

Glenn replied.

Her name fell like a melody on his ears and he again felt his heart beating on that weird rhythm.

"Elena!"

It tasted like honey on his tongue.
