Sixty Three!

Liam's POV

It wasn't that hard to commit; looking back, I was worried for nothing. The irritation of commitment and marriage always irked me until I found Sophia.

She has officially changed her name, and it's only Sophia; she refused to take her father's surname. She says they only gave her birth. It's she who gave life to herself, and I totally agree.

She has come so far, and I am proud of her.

She is not really hard to handle, just an overexcited soul who always needs assurance that I love her and I care for her. When you really love a woman, you don't even have to try hard to show that. It comes naturally. I never thought I had it in me, though.

It's fun to be with her. She loves adventures and makes me do things which I never thought I would do.

Yesterday we jumped from the cliff; thankfully, the parachute opened on time.

We are in the mountains, spending our vacation in a cosy cottage.

It's monsoon; windows are displayed with fog and dark green forest. It's romantic.

We were fucking like bunnies for the last two days.

She is curled under the bedsheets, totally engulfed in reading a novel.

Her coffee is getting cold beside the window.

"I searched about this book; I know what happens in the end."

I slid beside her under the bedsheet.

"No!"

She whined.

"I'll kill you."

She hadn't killed or hurt anyone in the last year.

The last person she hurt was Shaya. But she didn't kill her.

Shaya was smart enough not to mess with her or me again. She took her money, sold the house and moved out of the town. We never heard about her again.

Life has been peaceful since then. My mother is really happy that I am finally in a serious relationship, and I actually like the girl.

Sophia has become her favourite. I sometimes doubt who her real child is because she treats her better than me.

Sophia also found her lost parents in my mother. She admires my mother too much. It's like she is more obsessed with her than she is with me.

I don't mind, though; both are important women in my life, and they are getting along.

"Nahh, you can't kill me... You love me too much for that."

I teased.

She put the bookmark between pages.

"You are so mean. You search books online for the plot which I am reading and then threaten to spoil the ending and blackmail me into doing things for you... My god, Liam! Grow up."

I grinned.

"Because you don't listen to me... I have no choice."

She chuckled.

"I do listen to you."

"When?"

I raised an eyebrow.

She bit her lips, trying to recollect at least one time when she would have listened to me.

"Last week when you asked me to open the door. I did!"

"That was the elevator, Sophia... You didn't open it."

I exclaimed.

"Well, I pressed the button."

She shrugged.

I pulled her closer, and she straddled my lap.

"Fine, what do you want me to do today?"

She smiled cheekily.

"Are you happy with me?"

I played with her fingers.

Her beautiful eyes admired my face.

"Why are you asking? Is something wrong?"

I smiled.

"Tell me."

"Yeah, I have never been so happy. Why are you asking?"

Her hold tightened on my hands. Maybe I am making her nervous.

"Do you feel safe around me?"

I continued.

"More than I feel with myself."

She accepted quickly.

"Do you think I should change something in myself? Thinks which bother you."

"I love everything about you. All the things, even if they are evil, like you love me with all my flaws.... I love you!"

She cupped my face.

"What's happening?"

"I think I am obsessed with you."

I pecked her lips.

Her face dropped a little tension.

"Is it something new? I fucking know it."

I laughed.

"You look so cute when you are worried."

"Asshole!"

She punched my chest.

"Well, you deserve this for annoying me in the beginning... Throwing me in the pool, tricking me now and then, those office pranks and lies."

I teased.

Her face turned red.

"It's been two years; get over it..."

I could see her blushing hard.

"What do you want? Come to the point."

She exclaimed.

"You are blackmailing me with the plot of my current book. Making me recall how I made your life hell and bullied you. It means either you have fucked up something, or else you are going to ask me to do something crazy."

"You are so smart!"

I grinned.

"I am going to ask you something."

"What?"

She frowned.

I grabbed her hand and slid the ring on her finger.

"Marry me!"

I analysed her face. Confusion, then shock and then disbelief.

I have thought through this, wandered many times if she says no, then what would I do.

The fuck I would accept a no; she would marry me in all cases. Even if she wants it or not. I have become soft for her, but I still take what belongs to me.

Does she know that there is no way away from me? She is tied to me, forever!

This obsession started with her, but it will end with me.

Her eyes turned slightly glossy.

"Are we really doing this? Are you sure?"

"Marry me!"

I wasn't asking.

"Do I have any other choice?"

She smiled and placed her lips on mine.

Our tongues danced together, with passion and love. To be honest, we both don't know if we should call it love or not, but we definitely know that it's more than love. It's dangerous and addictive.

She smiled ear to ear when she broke the kiss.

"This ring is so beautiful..."

She looked at the solitaire.

"You liked it?"

I couldn't stop smiling. This moment felt unbelievable a few years ago.

"I loved it"

She exclaimed.

"Oh my god! I am so excited."

She got up from the bed and called my mother.

"Lisa, guess what?"

She squealed in joy.

"Liam proposed to me for marriage."

I covered my ears when I heard her scream on the other side of the phone.

Here we go; these girls are so dramatic.

It must be a dream come true for my mother.

Finally, we are getting married.
