Twelve!

Author's POV

Liam couldn't believe his eyes. It's been hell to control himself and not go in front of her. Only he knows how he sent her away and now that girl is standing in front of him out of the blue, leaving him stunned.

And the thing is, she now remembers him. Shaya told him that she doesn't remember Liam then how? He wasn't expecting his normal day to flip like this.

He shook his head and pushed her back while getting out of the pool. Elena stabled herself and got out after him.

"Liam!"

She called him confused.

Liam stopped dead in his spot, and water was still flowing down from his body. He closed his eyes, cursed silently while pushing his wet hair back and turned around looking pissed as hell.

"I am Elena... Do you remember me?"

She stepped forward and almost slipped but Liam caught her quickly. She was fitting perfectly in his arms like she was made for him. His heart clenched with an unknown feeling. She was again poking something he was running away from.

"Opps, sorry..."

She grinned awkwardly while stabilising herself again.

"No, I don't know you."

Liam stepped back from her.

"Not possible, I recognise you... I am Elena... I know you. I mean I don't know why I remember you and from where but I do. You are familiar."

She said desperately.

"Why are you not recognising me?"

Liam clenched his jaw.

"You are not the first one to claim this. Girls do that around me often... But you are the first one to pull a stunt like this. Nice way to grab attention."

He mocked.

"No, why would I?"

She said disappointed.

"I know you. Really!"

"Really, how? How do you recognise me? When did we meet? Who are you?"

He asked madly.

Elena tried to recall and find the answers but she couldn't remember where or how. She just saw this man and remembered his face and name. Memories around him are still blurred.

"You... I..."

She fumbled.

And Liam realised that she had just remembered his face not him. It was a relief but her staying around wasn't.

"Can't remember?"

He mocked.

"How will you know when it's just an attention-seeking stunt?"

"Excuse me!"

She felt embarrassed by his comments.

"I don't need anyone's attention."

"You are not getting any..."

He turned around to leave.

"Because you are fired"

"What?"

She scowled.

"Wait!"

He kept walking so she grabbed his hand.

"Don't you dare fucking touch me, Elena."

He growled at her, her touch burned like a flame on wounded skin.

She flinched back but there was something restless in his eyes. Like her touch was disturbing him.

"You can't fire me... You have no reason."

She argued.

"You don't fucking question my authority."

He gritted.

"Yeahh, hell I can... I have signed the employee bond and it states that I cannot be fired without any mistake or unless I resign by myself..."

She stated confidently.

"You are a boss, not a ruler here."

"You need a reason?"

He stepped threateningly towards her but she didn't step back. Her eyes were just as angry as his. Liam noticed how fearless she was. Someone else would have pissed in their pants by the way he was looking at her.

"You pushed your boss into the pool..."

He always wanted to know her real personality and he had to accept that she has a stronger one.

"It was an accident..."

She argued back.

"You can't fire me because of that... Why are you doing this, just accept that you know me... That's it. I'll mind my own business."

"You need a reason?"

He challenged.

"Party is in 5 hours... If everything is not done by then, you will be fired."

He warned, pushing his wet hair back and walked away.

Elena stood there in disbelief.

"Is he crazy?"

She looked around, not knowing how to arrange everything on time.

Liam went to his office and growled at Glenn.

"Who the fuck hired Elena here?"

"It was a coincidence, Liam."

Glenn replied nervously. He knew it was a mess now.

"It was carelessness... There was a reason why I sent her away and didn't try to see her all this year... She can't stay around me, Glenn... Do you understand that? That girl makes me go crazy... Get rid of her."

He threatened.

Glenn nodded and walked away.

Liam cursed and stood by the window restlessly. His eyes fell on Elena who was squeezing the water out of her long hair. She sat on the chair nearby and took off her shoes, water flowed out of it and she cursed. She looked up at the sky and started talking as if she were blaming someone. Probably God!

Liam smiled automatically when he saw her as a normal person, no trauma, not lost or scared. She was normal and beautiful. Breathtakingly beautiful!

"Fuck!"

He closed his eyes when he realised that he was getting affected by her presence again.

"You are doing it again, Elena... You need to leave... You have to!"

He called his secretary and ordered him to make sure that Elena fails to prepare for the party.

Liam was now waiting for the party. The night arrived and he joined.

But to his disappointment, the party was arranged better than his expectations. Guests were enjoying, songs were playing, people were chatting and dancing.

He didn't know that she was so talented and efficient.

His eyes unknowingly started looking for her. She was also an employee and she was supposed to be at the party.

Finally, he found her in a group of people, laughing, chatting and melting perfectly in a new environment. In no time she made friends.

Liam kept looking at her. Her beauty was something difficult not to praise with eyes. She was in a short black dress. Hair was open as usual and the glowing lips were catching his eye.

She was happy and youthful... He loved watching her like this.

She noticed him and he looked away, ignoring her. She followed him towards the pool where Liam was standing alone.

"Did you like my preparations... Done in four hours only!"

She mocked while standing in front of him.

Liam glared at her.

"That's why it's not really impressive."

"Come on... You are just being mean."

She huffed.

"Liam you know that you also know me... Why are you hiding the fact... Look I am trying to gain my memories back... And you are part of my forgotten life... I need your help."

She requested.

Liam smirked.

"What a unique way to grab attention. How many men do you lure with this drama..."

He mocked.

"If you want to sleep with me... Just say it. But you are not my type."

Elena clenched her jaw hard and threw her vine on his face making him glare in shock.

"Fuck you!"

She turned around but Liam grabbed her wrist and twisted it behind her back. She hissed when he pulled her hard enough to make her uncomfortable but not hard enough to break her wrist. The way he is built and strong, she certainly bet that he can snap her bones.

"Liam, leave me!"

She yelped.

She tried to move but he pulled her closer.

She froze when her back touched his front and his nose rested on her neck. Her heart churned when his nose slowly, sensually travelled on her neck. From collar bone to jaw. Like he was inhaling her.

Both were so close that their body heat almost melted together.

Liam fisted her hair and flipped her towards him. She looked at him shocked. His fist was dominating her hair. It should have hurt her but for some reason, she felt more pulled towards him. His anger didn't feel like anger but ignited something weird inside her.

His lips were a few inches away from hers.

"If you don't resign tomorrow, I'll make you regret, my little vixen!"

He whispered darkly.
