As I awoke to an empty bed, I checked the time on my phone. It was 12:34 p.m. I rubbed my eyes, cleared my sleep from them, and stretched out. Although, I’m still feeling weak, I didn’t feel as exhausted as before.I headed to the bathroom, washed up, and dressed. The house felt warm but there was no noise. The abyss swallowed me up. I was curled up in the darkness, cradling myself. Tears flooding from my eyes, hollowness filling me up. It felt like I would be there forever.
