Chapter 34 - Shane

Her back door is unlocked when I gently press down on the handle. Slipping inside, I can hear the laughter still going on in the living room, I hear my name and consider hovering to hear what they're saying, but I don't want to get caught. I glance at the clock, it's only nine o'clock so I should have some time before she comes upstairs. Placing the bottle of fizzy wine I bought earlier, in a bucket on her table, I lie back on her bed and wait. 

Time ticks by very slowly, I can still hear them chatting downstairs and it doesn't sound like they're going any time soon. Her diary sits there like a siren calling to me, I know I shouldn't read it, I try everything to distract myself but eventually, alert for sounds, I give in to temptation and look for anything written about me.
