Chapter 7

Author: Miss Smoke
The second Samzor finished, a sharp laugh cut through the air.

Cassian Duskclaw—Dad's old protégé, now the Alpha King's Right Hand. Cool, clever, untouchable.

He'd earned his spot beside the King, weighing in on laws and power plays.

When Samzor pushed the Alpha King into forcing a mate bond between me and Frey, the uproar was insane. Dad stopped his protégés before they could storm the throne to fight it, but their hate for Samzor never cooled.

Now, watching him crash my ceremony, they weren't holding back.

Cassian smirked. "Samzor, lost your mind? The Alpha King's word is law. He decreed Nyara bonds with Frey. Where do you fit in that? Leave—now—before you wreck this ceremony."

With every word Cassian threw at him, Samzor got paler.

When he stopped, the crowd roared in agreement, rallying behind Frey and me.

Only Samzor stayed quiet, face dark as thunder.

His glare locked on Cassian, voice turning ice-cold.

I tied her down. Melted the silvers.Made her swallow every drop. She loved wealth. Loved chaos.I gave her both. Her screams faded out that night. Then went silent.I had Catherine's body dumped at the burial mound outside the territory. She was a halfblood—she didn't belong anywhere else. All I wanted was one last glimpse of Nyara. Just to see her.I saw Frey pin a Fangflower in her hair. Then pain ripped down my spine.Enforcers hit me hard."He's caught! Get backup! He killed the halfblood!""No!" I fought, begged—just one look at her. They pinned me. I looked up.Frey had Nyara behind him, calm as ever. "Looks like they're taking in a fugitive. Let's go."No—I didn't even get the word out before something smashed into me.All I saw was Frey guarding her, walking away.Never looking back. They locked me in a silver cage. And my heart went stone cold.I didn't regret killing Catherine.I just hated how close I'd been to seeing Nyara.Months crawled by.On the

  • Sharing Love? Over My Dead Wolf   Chapter 10

[Samzor's POV]Name's Samzor.I was twenty-six when I lost the she-wolf I thought was mine.Growing up, I hated being just 'the War Chief's kid.' To everyone, I was Magnar Nightfang's son, never Samzor. Then Nyara happened. She saw me. Really saw me.We clicked. Thought we were endgame. But everything flipped the day I went to say goodbye to a friend.Met her.Catherine. A fox-wolf halfblood, cornered by rogues just past the border. She'd been hiding out, barely surviving.I stepped in. Tore through them. Saved her.She was gorgeous—something about her pulled at me.But I wasn't looking. My heart was still Nyara's.I planned to give her some silvers, help her disappear. But she broke down, said leaving wouldn't stop them.A buddy tossed out a fake-servant cover story. Said it'd keep her safe.No way. That'd trash her name.If I was gonna step in, she'd get real protection—same respect I gave Nyara. My friend looked at me like I'd lost it.Back then, I didn't get it.

Samzor's face went beet red. "I never wanted you to give that stuff back. Catherine showed up on her own."When you returned it all, I stashed it in the den I built for you. I thought... if you ever came back, it'd still be yours."Nyara, I didn't think the Alpha King would really shut your dad down. I just wanted—""You wanted everything your way. That's it," I snapped. "If you'd ended this with even a shred of Alpha pride, maybe I'd have left you with a sliver of respect."But you went low. You begged the Alpha King—KNOWING it would wreck me. Maybe that was the plan. Maybe you WANTED my dad to burn everything just to keep me safe."But I can't be that kind of daughter. So get lost. NOW."He didn't move. Just stood there like a stunned pup.His scent alone made my wolf bristle.Frey slipped his hand into mine. "Let's not let someone like HIM mess up our big moment."Then he turned to Samzor, who looked like he'd just been gutted. "I placed first in the last Warrior's Trial. T

It was Frey.I slid the carriage window down and saw him—ceremonial robes clinging to him, sweat still fresh on his brow. His hand clamped around Samzor's wrist, brows drawn, eyes sharp with anger.Samzor froze. One look at Frey's robes, and he went rigid. He jerked to pull free, but Frey didn't budge—his grip iron, locking down a seasoned warrior like Samzor without effort.Whispers rippled through the wolves watching."Wait—Alpha Samzor's actually losing? Wasn't the suitor supposed to be some weak, limping rogue?""He can't even break free? And this is the guy we trusted to defend our territory?""Please. His dad was the last Alpha—now the War Chief. Bet he shoved Samzor into the army and stole someone else's war merits to play lord commander. Total fraud."Each hushed word hit harder than claws to the gut.Samzor hated nothing more than people saying he only stood tall because of his dad.Back then, I used to calm him down, telling him not to care, that a clean conscienc

The crowd went dead silent.Samzor stood there, cocky as ever, swaggering like he owned the whole damn moment."Nyara," he called out, "didn't think you were so eager to seal our mate bond you'd skip the pre-ceremony."He looked down at me like I should be grateful."Well, we did grow up together. No one else would take you anyway. Let's go. Forget the grand entrance—side path's fine."His voice? Clipped. Cold. Barely holding back the edge of annoyance. No one said a word.Every guest there knew I was bonding with Frey today.Everyone—except Samzor, still planted like a fool, convinced it was his ceremony. He spoke with so much confidence, the crowd started side-eyeing each other, too stunned to correct him.Maybe it was the silence. Or the way every gaze hit like a slap. But something cracked.A flicker of unease flashed in his eyes—just for a second.***That day Nyara had every gift dumped on his doorstep—no drama, no second thoughts. Samzor froze. He almost sprinted
