Chapter 5

Author: Glucose
Owen frowned but remained quiet.

He recognized Cole.

‘So, what is the relationship between the powerful heir of the Guller family and my good brother's sister?’ Owen thought to himself.

Helma was highly upset by Cole's tone. Her expression turned cold. Her clear voice was heavy. "Sir, do I know you? Didn’t your mother teach you to have manners when you’re out in public?"

Owen burst out laughing at Helma’s retort.

Cole looked even more upset. He did not expect Helma to talk to him like this.

Her previous submissiveness was just a facade.

He suppressed his overwhelming anger and took a step forward. Then, his strong hands tightly circled Helma's slender wrist. "Come back with me."

Helma was livid. She wanted to escape his hold and scolded him. "Are you insane?"

Cole abruptly stopped and turned to face her. Looking her up and down coldly, he snarled, "You’re such a good pretender, we'll continue later."

"..." Helma was speechless. She did not know what to say.

Also, her wrist hurt...

Helma stared at Cole.

She thought to herself, ‘This person seems to be crazy.’

Silent all this while, Owen spoke. "Mr. Guller, you are hurting my little girl."

The corner of Cole’s mouth twitched. Then, completely out of context, he retorted. "Well, Mr. Pearce, do you fancy such a woman too?"

Helma was furious. She felt like a cannonball about to explode.

She pushed Cole away forcefully. "Did you come from Judgemental City? What’s with your high horse? Is it your turn to criticize others?"

The situation was about to spiral out of control, so Owen swiftly stood up and pulled Helma to his side. "Cole Guller, did you hear that? She doesn't recognize you."

Helma rolled her eyes at Cole and rubbed her wrist.

She thought to herself, ‘That bloody hurt, that wretched man.

‘Hey, wait...

‘Is this Cole Guller?

She remembered what her brother said.

Without a second thought, she blurted, "Are you that scumbag?"

"Scumbag?" Cole gritted his teeth, taken aback that Helma could say that.

Helma raised her eyebrows.

Was she wrong?

Based on his behavior, he was either a scumbag or plain trash!

Helma crossed her arms when she saw Cole's face darken even more. Her beautiful face smirked as she retorted. "You don't have to treat me like this. I really don't know you. There was a car accident, and I have amnesia.”

Amnesia?

Cole frowned in disbelief.

On another hand, Helma's very different appearance now suddenly made sense.

His eyes were cold and probing, but Helma faced him calmly.

Soon, Cole managed to control his emotions.

"It's better to have lost your memory."

His voice was icy, his handsome eyes frosty.

"We’ll go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow to get a divorce."

There was a dead silence in the room.

Helma was quiet for a while, then pointed at herself in disbelief. "Me?"

Cole’s upper lip twitched. "Do you suppose it’s him?"

Cole pointed at Owen.

Immediately, Owen spat, “Ew.”

Helma felt her world spinning.

Many thoughts ran through her mind, ‘What... I’ve been married for the past two years!

‘Married... hopefully no children yet…’

Helma’s heart tightened as she asked cautiously, "Then, did we have kids?"

Cole did not answer but gave her a frosty, bitter look.

Helma took that to understand that they had none.

She also understood that it was not a happy marriage.

She did not know how she lived the past two years because she only had memories of before she got married.

She was deeply favored and spoiled by the King family. She was fearless. Sometimes she would even yell at her brother when she was angry, never mind this man with the sour face.

"Best if there were no kids," Helma did not look pleasant either. She huffed unhappily and said, "I’ll go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce tomorrow."

Immediately, she looked him in the eye. "You have my word. You can leave now."

Cole's eyes darkened. "I hope you will keep your promise."

Without looking back, he left.

‘What an a*shole! How did I marry him blindly?!’ Helma cursed inside, almost wanting to punch him in the back.
