Chapter 4

Author: Long Journey
The video showed my body.

White dress drenched in blood. My face—slashed up so bad, it wasn't even mine anymore.

I looked away. Couldn't handle it. But the internet? Who knows how many had already seen it.

The staff's jaw tightened. "This is raw footage, Mr. Blenman. You were her fiancé. You should know her better than anyone. Do you believe it now?"

Jeff's face twitched. He looked away fast, like he couldn't stomach it. "Her face is wrecked. How can you even tell it's her? And those wounds? Looks staged. You think a video's enough proof?

"Sienna loved life. If something really happened, I'd be the first to know. She'd have called. But she didn't.

"Tell her to knock it off. I'll let it slide, but if this keeps going? Wedding's off. My family's not marrying some jealous freak."

Frank's eyes stayed locked on the screen. Something shifted in him. His voice was flat, like he was swallowing glass. "Yeah. Tell her to stop. This just makes us hate her more. If she shows now, I'll forge

Bang.Frank staggered back, clutching his nose, head spinning. Before he could react, Jeff grabbed his collar and started swinging—hard.Years of bottled-up hate exploded. Every punch landed like it meant something. No holding back."Sienna was my fiancée, Frank! She CHOSE me! You should've stayed out of it instead of slithering around like some wannabe hero!"Frank snarled through the blood. "Oh, now she's your fiancée? Where was that energy when Lulu showed up and you ditched her like trash? I've BEEN waiting to knock you out."I backed into a corner, silent, watching them beat each other to a pulp.By the end, Jeff was slumped in the doorway. Frank leaned against the wall, breathing hard.Neither had anything left.Frank wiped the blood off his nose, breathing hard. Head tilted back, he stared at Jeff. "Why didn't you cherish her?"Like he was asking Jeff—but maybe asking himself, too.Jeff leaned on one knee, sweat dripping down, bruises starting to bloom. He let out a

After Mia left, Jeff didn't move. The video kept looping. Maybe the thugs didn't trust Lulu to pay up—her face and voice were all over it.A streak of sunlight cut through the gloom, throwing Jeff's face into shadow. Then someone showed up at the door.Frank. Holding a report, chest rising fast.He looked at Jeff, eyes full of questions.Jeff didn't answer right away. When he finally spoke, his voice was rough. "Mia's got the proof. Sienna... she's really gone."He stared at the screen, then let out a bitter laugh. "She's really dead. And Lulu actually did it. We were dead wrong."The forged pregnancy report slipped from Frank's hand.He walked toward Jeff, each step like it weighed a ton.Stopped behind him, eyes glued to the screen. His hand shook, veins popping, eyes red. Then the screen went black—battery finally gave out.Jeff dragged a hand down his face and stood up slow. His eyes were unreadable. "Lulu's not getting away with this."Then he walked off, leaving th

Three days later, Jeff and Frank walked out of the detention center.Jeff looked wrecked—dark circles, dead eyes.Frank wasn't any better. He kicked a rock and muttered, "We need to find Sienna. If we don't, Princess Lulu's screwed."Jeff stayed chill. "I'll look for Sienna. You figure out how to get Lulu out."Frank shot him a look. "Bail her out? People think she's a murderer."Jeff's voice was flat. "Pregnancy can get her bail."Frank's eyes lit up. He peeled off toward the hospital without another word.I stared at Jeff's blank face—and yeah, for the first time, I was scared. He'd fake a pregnancy to protect her.I just followed, numb.He had people tracking my last known location while digging into Lulu's recent moves. When a lead came in, it pointed to the apartment I'd rented after ditching the mansion. He floored it—turned an hour drive into thirty minutes flat.He got to the place and kicked the door open.Tiny setup—two bedrooms, barely furnished. He tore throu

The whole vibe snapped the second that door slammed.Jeff and Frank stiffened, stepping in front of Lulu.No one caught the panic flash across her face.A blur of memories crashed through me—too fast, too messy. Before I could make sense of anything, a woman stepped in behind the cops. Black outfit. White flower on her chest.Mia Carter. My best friend.Eyes red, face pale, like she hadn't slept in days.I bolted toward her, hand shaking as I reached out—Right through her.She raised one arm, pointing straight at Lulu.Voice rough but firm."Officers, that's Lulu Keller. She's the one who killed Sienna."Silence.Everything froze for a second—then chaos exploded."Wait, what? Sienna's DEAD?""Lulu KILLED her?""She's lost it. What is she even saying?""But... I haven't seen Sienna in forever. And didn't that murder video blow up online? The girl looked JUST like her."Someone pulled out their phone and hit play.Same footage the staff showed Jeff and Frank—but the i

I don't remember dying. Just that when I saw my own body, I couldn't look.It was pathetic. Horrific.Felt like I'd dropped into the ocean's darkest trench—no light, no clue where I was headed.I curled up, scared out of my mind—until something yanked me upward.Jeff and Frank were charging ahead.Frank behind the wheel. Jeff calling my phone nonstop.Their faces were grim. Then—busy signal.Jeff clenched his jaw, tapping the car door like a metronome.Frank glanced over. "No answer?"Jeff shut his eyes, hiding whatever cold was brewing underneath.Frank floored it. The engine growled."She's really going all in, huh? Even faked the ashes. Let's see if they're actually hers."Ashes? So my body was already gone—cremated.Maybe once they saw the urn, they'd believe it. Maybe they'd do the decent thing and bury me right. Then I could vanish completely. If not... at least they'd stop acting like I was some threat to Lulu. Forget me. That'd be enough. No more cruel words. N
