Chapter 6 A disloyal slut

POV

Up until this point, everyone had not commented but kept silent. However, the next thing Jenny said made everyone gasp.

“I guess Cynthia is probably still with Daniel. See, Daniel didn’t come to breakfast either.”

Alice had an odd expression, “My brother came to breakfast very early today. After eating, he went with the Alpha to comfort the residents.”

“Oh my Goodness, so Cynthia will probably stay with that man she talked to last night...”

Jenny suddenly covered her mouth, “Oh I’m sorry, did I say something I shouldn’t have?”

Alice acted like she was angry over the betrayal Daniel suffered.

“I don’t know if you said something you shouldn’t have said, but I hope somebody didn’t do something they shouldn’t have done.”

She didn’t say names, but everyone knew she was calling Cynthia a disloyal slut.

“Oh no, Cynthia wouldn’t do that!” Jenny immediately acted like a good sister trying to defend Cynthia’s reputation, “I was wrong before. I didn’t see anything last night. Cynthia should still be asleep in her room. I’ll go get her up.”

She was so good at her acting that she even put down her spoon and tried to leave the dining hall.

Jenny just stood up. A figure appeared out of the blue in front of her and dumped the pumpkin soup on her head.

“Ahhhhhhhh!”

Jenny was so taken aback by the sudden attack that she couldn’t even see who had done it.

Alice got a good look at the attacker. It was a strange, cool-looking girl clutching a sword.

“Who are you?!”

The girl holding the sword poured another pumpkin soup in Alice’s face when she had just inquired.

“Damn! I am gonna kill you! Who the hell are you?!” Alice shouted.

Eva slowly drew her sword, “It doesn’t matter who I am, but remember that I will not allow anyone to denigrate Cynthia, or I will beat the shit out of them.”

The dining hall echoed with the screams and growls of Jenny and Alice.

“Help! There’s an intruder!”

“Help! intruder!”

“Mom help me!”

The dining hall was in chaos, and many people were scared and hid under the tables. Some servants stood in front of Luna to protect her, and Jenny immediately hid behind her mother. Alice also followed and hid.

“What’s happening?” Daniel, who had just returned, asked in surprise, “Why is it so confusing?”

As soon as Jenny and Alice saw Daniel coming, they immediately stepped forward and pointed at Eva, “She’s an intruder, and I can guarantee she’s not a member of the Rosebud Pack. She just attacked Alice and me.”

Daniel was furious to see Jenny’s hair covered in sticky pumpkin soup, and seeing that the attacker was just a young girl, he snarled and rushed forward.

“Go to hell! Intruder!”

Daniel turned his palm into a wolf's claw. His speed was as fast as lightning. He was confident that his power could split a tree.

However, the girl reacted quickly, and her body nimbly evaded his attack.

“Damn it!” Daniel turned his other hand into a wolf claw towards Eva’s head again.

“Stop it!” Cynthia, who had just arrived, shouted, “Daniel, don’t hurt my friend!”

It turned out that the strange girl was Cynthia’s friend.

Daniel had time to retract his attack, but he did not interrupt to stop immediately. This girl humiliated his lover and sister in public. He must make her suffer a little.

Eden, standing behind Cynthia, saw that Daniel had absolutely no intention of stopping, so he quickly rushed up and slammed Daniel away with force.

“You two ...”

Daniel looked at the two identical-looking guys in front of him with distrust; they were actually twins. When exactly did Cynthia know two such well-trained guys?

Why didn’t he know?

Cynthia's POV

I ran between them and stopped them from continuing to fight, “That’s enough. Stop fighting.”

“Who are they? They aren’t from the Rosebud pack, are they?”

Daniel still stared warily at the two guys. His intuition told him that the appearance of these two guys might ruin his plan to take over the Rosebud Pack.

Luna also asked worriedly, “Cynthia, how do you know them?”

I smiled at Luna, “Mom, don’t worry. They are my friends.”

Then I spelled out what we had prepared to say on the road, “This is Eva. This is Eden. Their parents were murdered by rogues and they are on the trail of their parents’ killers. Unfortunately, they ran out of money before they could find them. “

“I met them last night when I went for a walk. They were hungry. I gave them food and they were grateful to me. They heard that the Rosebud pack was not peaceful lately and they volunteered to be my bodyguard to protect me.”

Luna nodded as she listened. She knew her daughter, I , had always been such a warm-hearted girl. It all made perfect sense.

Eva and Eden stood left and right next to me, holding their swords while saying, “Lady Cynthia saved our lives. We will give our lives to keep her safe...”

With a warning look at Jenny and Alice, Eva added, “...and her honor. Never let me hear anyone slander Lady Cynthia without proof.”

Jenny and Alice shuddered in fear as they turned their pleading eyes to Daniel.

“I object!” Daniel said, “Cynthia, you can’t bring strangers back to the Rosebud pack. You don’t even know if they’re lying to you. What if they approach you with malicious intent?”

I gave a mocking laugh in my mind. Were Daniel’s words referring to himself? Wasn’t he the one who came to the Rosebud pack with evil intentions?

I did not show my contempt. I just pouted and tried to act as capricious and stupid as Daniel thought I was, “Come on, Daniel, don’t think so badly of others. There are still more good people in the world.”

“See, when you and Alice stray outside, I begged father to let you stay in the Rosebud Pack. You guys were fine. You all became everyone’s friends. Everyone loved you two.”

“But ...” Daniel’s face showed a look of embarrassment. He wanted to stop the twins from staying at the Rosebud Pack, but any excuse he uttered would make him eat a humble pie.

If it was a stupid decision for me to keep the twins now, then it was a stupid decision for me to keep Daniel and Alice before.

“But, but ...” Daniel realized he wasn’t in the right so that he would change tactics, “Cynthia, I just don’t want you to take the risk. Just think of it as for me...listen to me, okay?”

I giggled and patted Daniel’s face gently. My behavior was a bit like humiliation but could also be interpreted as flirting between lovers.

“Daniel, I know why you’re so nervous. You’re worried about me falling in love with Eden, right?”

Daniel nodded, “Right.”

I pinched Daniel’s face and winked at him, “You think too much, Darling. You know I despise people who are unfaithful to love. Even the sight of such a person can not help but spit. Please trust me as much as I trust you, okay?”

My words made both Daniel and Jenny turn pale. These two cheating adulterers were the most nervous of all.

The Third-Party’s

POV

Jenny carefully gauged Cynthia’s expression, trying to discern whether what she had just said without meaning to or if it was deliberately sarcastic.

Cynthia would not have found out anything, right?

But Jenny obviously underestimated Cynthia. She is no longer the naive Cynthia from her previous life. Now she is a better actress than Jenny. She would not let anyone see through her heart.

Daniel no longer dares to say a word except okay with a silly smile.

At night.

When Jenny wiped her face and washed her hair in her room, Daniel looked around to see no one around and quietly walked in.

When Jenny saw Daniel, she cried and jumped into his arms, “Honey, did Cynthia find out the secret between us? I always felt like she was saying something to me on purpose today.”

Daniel stroked her wet hair, “No, she’s a foolish fellow overwhelmed by love, and she’s completely enchanted by me. She won’t find out about our affairs.”

“But I’m so scared. Do you ever feel as if Cynthia is a different person? Sometimes her eyes are so sharp, like she knows everything. If she finds out, she’ll definitely make the Alpha punish us. Why don’t we elope? You take me away from here.”

“Yes, let’s elope,” Jenny couldn’t wait to start packing, “You get me out of here. I can’t stand Cynthia and you being close anymore. You’re my lover. I hate the Rosebud Pack, I hate the Alpha and Luna. Although they adopted me and called me their daughter, I know that the only daughter they love most in their hearts is Cynthia. Let’s leave now.”

“Oh no, my sweetheart. Please calm down. Do you want to become a rogue with no place to live? We are just a little bit away from success. Alpha and Luna have already started to accept me. Once I fully gain everyone’s trust and officially become the Alpha of the Rosebud Pack, I will make our relationship public. Cynthia is so weak, and she trusts you so much, she will have to accept sharing me with you when the time comes.”

Jenny was persuaded, but she was still a little worried, “You’re right. But I feel that lately, Cynthia doesn’t trust me as much as she used to. It’s like she senses that I’m discrediting her. Honey, can you speed up your plan? I’m afraid of an accident.”

Daniel was also worried that something might change and that the two twin bodyguards who had suddenly appeared might get in the way.

And, more than Daniel, Alpha trusts his son, Pete. Like today, he woke up early to follow the Alpha and Pete to appease the people, but the Alpha soon asked him back to the private room, saying that it was enough to have Pete’s help.

Daniel must speed up his plan to seize the Rosebud.

“Good. I’ll do it. I promise, I will be the Alpha of the Rosebud Pack in a month. As for those who stand in my way, I’ll make them disappear.”
