4. You Have To Doubt

"Shhh, I'll remove my hand but you won't scream, if you do the consequences will be bad, " Alexander said and dug the gun more in the back of my head.

"you understand?" Alexander asked.

I nodded my head and he slowly removed the gun and his hand away.

"Why are you here? and what did you do to Jake?" I asked my voice is shaking but I didn't care.

"I'm here because I want to be here, and your precious Jake has gone to the lab that was set on fire," Alexander answered and started exploring the room.

"what do you want?" I asked.

"who is Jake Andrews?" Alexander asked while looking at a photo on mine and Jake's wedding.

"you want to convince me that you couldn't know who he is?" I asked humorously.

"I did my research and found that he is a billionaire businessman," Alexander said and sat on a chair beside the bed.

"then why are you asking me?"

"because sweetheart I need to know how did he become a billionaire," Alexander said.

"he's a successful scientist and he got a lot of labs working for him," I answered.

"See, that I don't believe, no one can become a billionaire by being a scientist there should be another way he got his money from, " Alexander explained.

"enough Alexander, get out of my house or I swear I'm going to call the police." I threatened him.

Alexander laughed and said, "go ahead call them, but be careful because I might have a slip of tongue and tell them that you faked your death."

just as I was about to answer him I heard the door get open, and Nick called me from downstairs "Tasha where are you?"

"I think you should get going," Alexander said and smiled.

I went downstairs and found Nick in the living room.

"Nick, what are you doing here?" I asked and hide my anxiety.

"lady Eleanor asked me to come and get you," Nick answered.

"which Eleanor exactly?" we have 2 Eleanor's in the family one of them is my mother-in-law in law and the other is Jake's niece.

"Both actually, Mom is worried about you and Eleanor missed you," Nick answered.

"Okay I'll go change, you wait for me in the car if you want," I said.

"Okay," Nick said. 

Nick went outside and I went back to my room, Alexander was gone and I sighed in relief, I changed and went to Nick and got in the car.

"How are you feeling?" Nick asked me. 

"better, don't worry I'm fine, " I answered. 

"Nick," I said. 

"Hmm," he answered. 

"How did your family start the business?" I asked because to be honest Alexander's words kept ringing in my head.

"What makes you ask that?" Nick said and tried to hide his anxiety but it appears for a split second.

"Just curiosity, why? I shouldn't have asked?" I said.

"no, no, it's just no one asks this question usually," he said

"well you know, my father started with the security company and then what you know, " Nick answered and I'm sure as hell, he is lying.

I didn't ask anything else because I just realized that I'm an idiot who believed Alexander. we arrived at the family home and as soon as I entered it Eleanor ran to me I picked her up and hugged her.

"baby, " Jake came to my side and kissed my cheek. 

"How are you feeling?" Jake asked. 

"better, " I answered. 

we went to the living room and sat there, I asked "so where is your mother?"

"she is upstairs with dad, they are up to something, " Aria (Eleanor's mother) said.

"Hey, Aria, how are you?" I asked. 

"I'm the one who's supposed to be asking that, " she said and hugged me.

we waited for 10 minutes and they still didn't show up. "mom dad where are you?" Aria yelled and then went to see them while I was playing with Eleanor, I looked in Jake's direction and found him looking at me with soft eyes.

another 5 minutes have passed and there was no voice upstairs, "something is off, " Nick said and went upstairs, Jake and I followed with Eleanor with us, we didn't find anyone in the room, we only found a note saying :

(you know what I want, give it to me or else you won't see your family again, and you know when and where) I read the note.

"Jake, what is this?" I asked. 

"Nothing, honey you just go get Eleanor and go home," Jake said.

I wanted to protest but suddenly gunshots flew everywhere Nick shielded Eleanor, I was about to get down but I felt a sharp pain in my stomach when I looked there I saw my shirt filled with blood, I put my hand there and hit the ground, Then everything happened in slow motion, gas bomb entered the room and Jake and Nick fell to the ground and I went unconscious.
