Two Years LaterSherri's P.O.V.To say the past two years have been a whirlwind would be an understatement. When we moved to Virginia, I had planned to continue my nursing career, so I began looking for a job. However, that changed after I met Shaun's supervisor. He thought Shaun and I would make a good team, so he asked if we would be willing to go undercover as a married couple.I thought it sounded intriguing, so I agreed. Our first assignment was local in Virginia. The FBI had been trying to find a way into a group that was selling children who had been kidnapped from all over the world. We were put into a house and given fake names. It took a while to work our way into the group, but once we did, it was eye-opening. Some of the kids didn't speak English and were in such bad shape I was sure they wouldn't survive. Shaun's P.O.V."How did it go?" Sherri asks as I walk into her apartment. She has everything packed and ready to go. Jon said he would take care of selling the furniture if the landlord didn't want to keep it."We arrested him and his wife. We rescued fifteen young women they had locked in the basement. With all the evidence we collected, people are being arrested all over the country right now. Okay, now to the important stuff. How long before we need to leave? Should I bring them something?" I ask her nervously. Sherri laughs and shakes her head."It's going to be fine, I promise. I'm glad you were able to get everyone who was involved. Go take a shower, and then it will be time to go. My parents are anxious to meet you." That could be good or bad. Shaun's P.O.V.With all the evidence that Lester had on his phone and in his home, we had everything we needed to go after Congressman Mathis Belmont. Once I explained to the chief why I was really there, he was more than happy to let the FBI handle everything. He said it was way over his head.I called my team and they arrived within a few hours. Sherri's P.O.V.Skye looks at Viper and then walks over to Adam. We want to take care of him ourselves. Viper and Shaun can have Lester. I look at Jon just to make sure he's still okay with this. Sherri's P.O.V.Jon keeps looking over at us as he drives but doesn't say anything. I understand it's a lot to wrap his head around, but that doesn't change the fact that it's true. Shaun tells him to drive out as far from civilization as possible.When we reach a remote area, Jon drives down a half-hidden road as far as he can and stops. None of us got out of the truck right away."So what's the plan?" Jon asks, looking at the two men rolling around in the back of the truck."I need to get information from them about the human trafficking they are involved in. I don't believe for a second that either of them was the mastermind. After they give us the information we need, we can do what we want with them. Sherri's P.O.V.I look at Shaun through Skye's eyes. I want to shift back, but I need clothes. Skye tugs on his shirt slightly, and he nods."Help me find some clothes, and we'll explain everything," Shaun says to Jon."We who? You and the large kitty cat?" Skye looks at him and growls, making him take a few steps back."Yes, just please help me. I'm going to call the chief and tell him we haven't found Adam yet. Not until we decide what we're going to do with him and this idiot." Shaun kicks Lester in the side."Okay, but I want answers as soon as we find clothes." Jon and Shaun look around and finally find some in a storage room. I'm assuming they dressed people up before the bidding because the clothes are a pair of extremely short jean shorts and a tight crop top. I'll be lucky if my breasts don't pop out of that thing.
