Thirty One

A Spanish man doing business in Poland one day came across a pretty church with a coffin inside laid out for viewing. No one else was there.

A little surprised, the businessman nevertheless said a prayer, and signed the book of condolences, leaving a note passing on good wishes on to the dead man's loved ones, and a business card. A month later he got a call from the dead man's lawyer.

It appears that the dead man had suspected that he could not trust his own family or business associates. He decided that only in death would he  discover who, if anyone, cared for him, rather than just his money .

The deceased man's will stated that his multimillion dollar fortune was to be split evenly amongst all who attended his wake. The Spanish businessman was the only attendant, and inherited a massive fortune.
