Twenty Two
In 1922,Robert Townsend went to a party with some of his friends. At that party he met the prettiest girl that he had ever seen. Millie had long brown hair and eyes like emeralds. He asked her to dance and she seemed pleased to accept. Later, he walked her home. It was raining, and she borrowed his coat. They kissed. The next day, he returned to the house for his jacket. A grey-haired woman answered. He asked after Millie,and the lady wept.
'I'm sorry,'she said,'my daughter died a year ago today.'
Robert gasped.'But I just saw her yesterday!'
The lady said,'Go to the cemetery a mile down the road,and you'll find her there.'
Robert found the cemetery. He searched for the girl's grave, and found one with her name on it. Lying there was his jacket. When he picked it up,a note fell to the ground. It read: I'M SORRY, MY LOVE.'

In 1948, Edith Wills was traveling one night alone on the London Underground. She say opposite three people in an otherwise empty carriage. She settled down and looked up. The woman opposite was staring at her. Edith got out her book and started to read but every time she looked up, she caught the woman's gaze. The train pulled into a station and an elderly man got on and sat next to her. As the train pulled out, he leaned back and said in her ear, "If you know what's good for you, you'll get off at the next station with me.' Edith was scared but decided to get off anyway, hoping that there might be people around.She left train with the elderly man at the next stop. The man said, "I didn't mean to scare you, but I'm a doctor. The woman sitting opposite you was quite clearly dead. The men at either side were holding her up."

In the mid-western states of America around a hundred years ago, two gentlemen were working in a town's small general store. A small frail woman dressed in grey entered the shop, picked up a glass container of milk and, without paying for it or even glancing at the gentlemen, walked out ...... the men, surprised by the woman's thievery, hurried out of the store after her, but she had disappeared. A few days later, the incident occurred again, and a few weeks later, a third time. The men, slightly more prepared , followed the woman out of the store , down the town's main street and down a path that led to a cemetery neither of them knew existed. Suddenly, they heard a noise, which they identified as a baby's cry. It was coming from the under the ground in front of a gravestone marking the death of a mother and her baby who were buried together. One morning in 1954, Sven James Thoresen found himself walking along a street in his home town. He could not explain what he was doing there, or remember how he got there, or where he had been earlier. He didn't even know what time it was. He saw a woman walking towards him and stopped her."I've forgotten my watch," he said."Can you tell me the time?"When she saw him, she screamed and ran away. Other people seemed afraid of him too. When they saw him, they looked aghast, flattened themselves against buildings, or ran across the street!"There must be something wrong with me," Sven thought. A man and a woman happened to sit next to one another on a train. The woman took out a book and began reading. The train stopped at half a dozen stations, but she never looked up once. The man watched her for a while, then asked, "What are you Reading?""A ghost story,"she said. "Its very good. Very spooky."'"Do you believe in ghosts?" he asked."Yes, I do," she replied. "There are ghosts everywhere.""I don't believe in them," he said. "Its just a lot of superstition. In all my years, I've never seen a ghost, not one.""Haven't you?" the woman said, and vanished.

A young couple moved in to a new home in Hawaii. They had a young son, Bobby, whom they would put to bed each night, only to find him the next morning sleeping on the floor in the corner of his room ...... One day, the father put a wardrobe in that corner, and that night while the couple was watching TV, they turned to see their son walking out of his room as if he was holding someone's hand. Just before he got to the door, he dropped his hand as if the person had let go. He woke up crying. The couple were scared, and they called a Hawaiian priest for help. He told them that their house was built on a "night marching trail" — a path taken by ghosts. The priest said Bobby always slept in a corner because a friendly spirit had put him there for safety, to keep him away from the ghosts, who might have taken him on their march, never to be seen again.

Lisa's parents had gone to a party for the evening. And all poor Lisa had to do was stay home and watch her two little brothers.She was making pasta when the phone rang. Lisa answered. "I'm near," said a woman's voice. "Near where?" Lisa replied, but the other end was dead. A little shaken, Lisa checked on the kids and finished cooking. After dinner, she put the kids to bed, turned on the TV, and was flicking through the channels when the phone rang again ...She ran to the phone before it woke the kids. In 1981, depressed since he could not find a job, 42-year-old Romolo Ribolla sat in his kitchen near Pisa, Italy, with a gun in his hand threatening to end it all.His wife pleaded with him not to do it, and after about an hour he burst into tears and threw the gun to the floor, whereupon it went off and shot his wife dead.I don't own any of this stories. Walter Hallas, a 26-year-old store clerk in Leeds, England, was so afraid of dentists that in 1979 he asked a friend to try to cure his toothache by knocking out the offending molar with a punch to the jaw. The punch caused him to fall down, hitting his hard, and he died of a fractured skull.I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books.
