Cassian’s P.O.V.

The battle raged around me, the earth trembling under the stamp of thousands of paws and feet. My lycan surged within me, sharp claws tearing through the enemy with ruthless precision.

I snapped another wolf’s neck, hearing that sickening crack echoing through the clearance. A growl vibrated my chest as I bared my teeth to the sky in triumph.

Killing was something I enjoyed the most in my life. And this war was the best chance to calm the bloodthirsty part of my soul.

Cassian’s P.O.V.“A human town? Seriously?”The words left my mouth before I could stop them.Even as the car crossed into the heart of the bustling human city, I couldn’t shake the irritation crawling under my skin. I leaned back in the passenger seat and glanced at Damon. “Are you sure your spy gave you the right information?”Damon’s hands tightened slightly on the steering wheel, though his expression stayed controlled.“I’m following what my spy said.”“How can a wolf live in a human city?” I pressed. “And why?”The very idea grated against instinct. Wolves thrived in the territory, living under their alpha’s protection. Then how could Stacy live in a human town?Damon exhaled slowly. “What was the use of checking packs before, Cassian? Stacy wasn’t there.” He flicked me a look. “Don’t forget she was a rogue. Such wolves prefer hiding in human towns.”He sounded reasonable, but something about this felt off. I wasn’t convinced, but for the sake of peace, I stayed silent.Howeve

  • Silent Howls   Chapter 142

Liora’s P.O.V. Although I wasn’t ready to take a bodyguard with us, Gavin’s considerate gestures silenced my opposition. He thoughtfully prepared a scent-blocker for us, a herbal mix to conceal our scents. I forgot everything and packed our bags to leave. My grandparents came to bid farewell at the gates, their eyes moistened. It was hard to say goodbye, but I managed to hide my tears until we walked out of the iron gates of the Silver Forest. Behind me, the Silver Forest shimmered in its pale glow, silver bark catching the fading frost like starlight woven into wood. Ahead of me lay the open world—raw, vast, and unpredictable. My heart pounded far too loudly in my chest, my eyes burning with tears as memories crashed into my mind with every step I took forward. My gaze darted around instinctively. I heard whispers about Cassian. That he searched for me so relentlessly that Grandpa himself had sent a formal letter demanding him to stop circling our sanctuary like a predator. A d

  • Silent Howls   Chapter 141

Liora’s P.O.V.The letter trembled in my hands before I even realized I was shaking.I unfolded the page immediately, my pulse drumming against my ribs so loudly it felt as though Grandma and Gavin could hear it.“How are yous doing, Liora? Gosh, we haven’t met in ages. When will you come to see me, Liora?”A breath slipped out of me, half laugh, half ache.“Typical Stacy. Still terrible at grammar,” I murmured under my breath, though warmth bloomed in my chest. My eyes moved further down the page.“Don’t you dare tell me I will come soon. I won’t buy it. Now I want a specific date and time.”I actually chuckled at that, earning a curious glance from Gavin.“And you know, I deserve this meeting now. You didn’t even attend any significant events in my life.”My fingers tightened on the paper. A thin line of guilt carved through me, sharp and familiar. I lowered my gaze, whispering to the ink as though she could hear me through it.“You know my issues, Stacy. Why don’t you come to see m

  • Silent Howls   Chapter 140

Liora’s P.O.V.I cleaned the living room for the third time today. The third! And somehow, it looked like a storm had passed through it again! My patience cracked along with the fragile vase someone had knocked sideways on the table. I groaned, dragging the mop harder across the marble floor than necessary. “What have I done to deserve this?”The words echoed around the high ceilings, dramatic and useless. When I finally gave up, I shoved the mop back into the bucket and lifted it, water sloshing dangerously close to the rim. My arms ached. Or maybe that was just my pride.Grandma appeared in front of me as if she’d been summoned by my suffering alone.“What happened, Sweety?” She asked, her silver brows knitting together. “Why are you so worked up?”I huffed. “See, Grandma? The living room is messed up again. I just cleaned it an hour ago. Now I have to start all over.”She laughed softly, the kind of laugh that carried more patience than the entire house combined, and gently took t

Cassian’s P.O.V.“Liora?”Scarlett’s breath hitched sharply. Her eyes widened as though I had spoken the name of a forbidden deity.“You still remember her?” She whispered in disbelief. “It’s been five years, Cassian. How can you even love her after so long?”A low, dangerous growl rumbled from my chest before I could stop it.My lycan stirred violently beneath my skin, claws scraping against bone, fury simmering in his veins.“What do you mean by that?” I asked, my voice dropping several degrees colder. “Of course I love her. She is my mate.”Scarlett shook her head slowly, as if I were the delusional one.“She ‘was’ your mate, Cassian,” she corrected, her tone hardening. “She rejected you.”The word struck like a blade dragged across an old scar.Rejected.Even after five years, it burned.Scarlett continued relentlessly. “Liora rejected you over nothing. She left you alone without any notice, walking away from her responsibilities.”Each accusation felt like salt rubbed into wounds

  • Silent Howls   Chapter 138

Cassian’s P.O.V. The kingdom called it peace. I called it a punishment! The palace has never been brighter. Golden chandeliers blaze above the grand hall, their light scattering like stars across polished marble floors. Music swelled, goblets clashed, and nobles laughed too loudly. Five years. Five years since the treaty bound lycans and vampires under the peace treaty. Five years since the night everything that mattered to me was torn away. Everyone celebrated victory, but I sat on a throne that felt like a cage. Below me, generals and nobles bowed their heads, offering congratulations. Their words reach my ears but never my heart. Because beside me, there was nothing, but an empty throne draped in red silk. Her throne! The place where Liora should have been sitting tonight, her eyes glowing like moonlight over steel. She was meant to rule beside me as the queen of the united supernatural world. However, ... My fingers curled over the armrest as applause erupted in the ha
