Chapter 13

It was a beautiful ceremony, the choir sang a lovely song as he was put in the ground. It made me so emotional, a few tears leaked or maybe it was just the alcohol doings. I could still feel the buzz, it was a good buzz, I prayed it lasted me till the end of the day. 

After the ceremony, people started to disperse slowly after giving their condolences to the family. 

I awkwardly stood at one side, watching people. Arthur must have noticed me because he was walking towards me. 

"Hey, you ready to meet my mum?" he asked, smiling weakly. 

I have never seen him this sullen, he looked like he needed a hug or maybe I was the one who needed it. 

I stood on tip-toe, crossing my hands around his neck, snuggling him. 

I breathed him in and he froze. 

I hold him tighter for a few seconds before he relaxed, burying his head in the nook of my neck.
