Chapter 24

***SUMMER'S POV***

Smokey spent a whole five minutes telling me about his worst fears and for a man like him to say that to me, I knew he was right, considering how reserved he is.

"What's now?" he demands holding me in his arms.

"I miss you both but I can't leave Mr. Sin, he will track us down and that's a breach of contract on my part," I confess, my eyes twitching.

I bury my face in Smokey's chest and sob gently.

"Stop crying, little girl, you know I hate tears," he murmurs, and Gunner pulls me to his side.

His fresh cologne and aftershave waffles my nostrils and I look up at him as he holds either side of my face.

"Summer, we will get you out of this," Gunner promises.

I nod.

He removes a phone from his pocket and slips it into my gown's pocket, zipping it close.

"That is a burner phone. Smokey and mine's number are registered in it, honey, we will give you a call when we have a new place to call home," he finishes.

"Thank you," I reply.
