Lucas POV

The principal's office had never felt smaller.

Every time Principal Trent’s boots hit the tile, the echo seemed to hammer into my skull harder than Bennett’s punches from earlier.

My jaw still ached, but I wasn't going to show it. Not in front of him.

“This is the third fight in two weeks," Principal Trent snapped, pacing like a wolf on the edge of shifting.

“And this time, you managed to involve half the student body. Miss Chen is in the nurse's office with anxiety-induced stress, and young Morrison won't stop hyperventilating every time someone mentions Alphas."

Bennett and I sat in stiff chairs on opposite ends of the office. He had a split lip and a bruise blooming under one eye.

I had a cracked rib and a banging headache. Fair trade.

"I don't care what personal issues you two have," Principal Trent narrowed his eyes at both of us."But this school is supposed to be neutral ground. Your pack politics ends at the front gates."

"It's not about Pack polit

Bennett I sat in the back of the ambulance, the silver shock blanket crinkling around my shoulders like tinfoilIt didn’t make me feel any warmer. I wasn’t cold,I was just numb. The inside of the ambulance was a flurry of motion, metallic cabinets, rustling gloves, and clipped voices. I sat on the edge of the gurney while a paramedic with a tight ponytail knelt in front of me, her fingers wrapped around my wrist.“Pulse is steady,” she muttered to her partner, then looked up at me. “You with me, sweetheart?”I nodded slowly.“Good. I need you to follow the light for me.” She clicked on a small penlight and shined it in my right eye. “Eyes wide.”I blinked against the glare, but did as she asked. She repeated the motion with my left eye, then made a satisfied sound and jotted something down on a clipboard.“Any dizziness? Nausea? Trouble breathing?”“No,” I murmured.“Okay, shirt up. Let’s check for bruising.”I hesitated, then lifted my blood-speckled shirt. Her fingers were cold as

  • Sinister Storm   Dinner with my father

LUCAS’S POV Dinner with my father was always as cheerful as a funeral. He sat across from me, his posture stiff and his eyes sharp like always. I didn’t even know why he bothered with this facade. Family dinners were only when he had a threat to issue or a message to pass. Mum was absent tonight, she always was whenever she noticed he was in a foul mood. I chewed slowly, tossing the vegetables around the plate before stabbing a chunk of roasted meat. “Finals are around the corner. Your grades better not be slipping,” he said, breaking through my thoughts, the disappointment in his voice was clear like always. I didn’t answer. He squinted, inspecting me like something fascinating was on my face. “Where did you get that bruise from, I don't remember giving you that during last night’s training” I smirked. “What, are you jealous that someone else besides you likes the idea of using me as a punching bag?” His glass shattered against the edge of the table as he slammed his fist

  • Sinister Storm   The right call.

RYDER’S POVI didn’t need to check the time again to know it was late, very late Like way past the hour Bennet was supposed to be home.I sat in the dark at the edge of the bed then rested my elbows on my knees, Lacing my fingers tightly together, as I tried to calm down and attend to the quiet storm building in my chest His room smelled like his shampoo. The same hoodie was draped over the chair and the Same worn-out sneakers were by the closet. But the longer I sat here, the more it felt like I didn’t know my best friend anymore.Where was he?The soft creak of the window opening snapped me out of my thoughts.FiguresOf course, he was sneaking in through the damn window instead of using the front door like a normal person. Is he an idiot ?Bennet slid in quietly, moving like a shadow. I stayed silent then I flicked the light switch on startling him.Click.He flinched, hard, one foot still inside and the other caught on the window ledge.Almost thought he would fall out the wind

  • Sinister Storm   Don't fucking move

I lit my third cigarette of the hour and leaned against a rusted metal post, as I watched the smoke twist upward into the dark sky. The street was dead quiet ,just how I liked it. No civilians, no dogs, no cameras. The industrial side of town always had that post-apocalyptic charm. The Cracked sidewalks, with the blinking lights, and the sweet scent of oil and old blood soaked into the pavement smelled like shit but it was pleasing. It had been two weeks since my last job. Boss told me to “lay low Reid, stay invisible and don't do nothing stupid.” and honestly, I’d rather be doing anything else.Than sitting around and pretending I didn’t exist? Not exactly thrilling.Fuck.I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts searching for anything to end my boredom, my thumb hovering over “Candy” — my go-to when the nights got dull. Was just about to send a “you free?” text when I felt it.A blade. Cold. Thin. Pressed against the side of my neck, I was just about to turn around w

  • Sinister Storm   Like the victim

BENNETT’S POVThe laughter around me felt distant, dull, and grating. My smile was fake, stretched tight across my face like a bad mask. I nodded when someone cracked a joke, even laughed along, but I was barely there. Not really. My mind was still stuck back on the moment Billy had it.Lucas. Engaged. To Brittney. I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to breathe through the anger and keep myself in check.I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of a scene, not in front of everyone. I was so mad at Lucas. After all the times we kissed like we were starving for each other and he’d made demands, telling me to stop seeing Avery. After the calls, the messages, dinner with my mother, and worst of all after that call yesterday where I gave a vulnerable part of myself to him and he in turn whispered filthy things to me.To think he already knew then that he was getting mated to Brittney made my blood boil. My fingers itched to punch his face in.The only reason I was still here was because we

  • Sinister Storm   Get an invite

KAEL’S POV The classroom was abuzz with low chatter and laughter. Final exams were a week away, and everyone could feel the tension. It was revision week, but no one was truly studying today. Everyone was too busy clinging to their final few days before everything changed. A group of students had gathered near the windows where sunlight spilled across the desks. The conversation had drifted from cramming topics and past questions to life beyond school. “Man, after finals, I’m getting out of here,” someone said from across the room. “My dad’s already setting up meetings with the council.” “Ugh, must be nice,” another groaned. “I’ll be lucky if I don’t end up locked in a basement doing pack accounting.” All the students burst into laughter. Then someone I think Calen was his name from Green Ridge brought up the discussion of mating and marriage. That opened a floodgate. “Oh, Tessa and I already have names picked out for our kids,” a grinning Alpha announced, wrapping
