Four hours passed slowly, and by now, a light drizzle was falling from the sky, painting the land in a cold, silvery mist. The forest around us was cloaked in muted greys and deep greens, the leaves swaying as water slid off their leaves.

Queen was still strong. Her hooves struck the wet earth firmly and steadily, her breath smooth despite the rough terrain — which was worse than I had initially thought.

One of the Gammas nearly got tossed off his horse due to it.

By now, the other horses were already panting and growing sluggish, noticeably falling behind that I almost couldn't sense them.

After thinking for a moment, I finally glanced at the men who were some distance away. “Let’s pause for an hour so the horses can catch up.”

They nodded, obliging, and we chose to rest beneath a large tree.

At that moment, a part of me couldn’t help but think – maybe I should explore alone. The others could catch up later.

And the more I thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

Elara's POVMy heart raced, pounding in my chest so loudly as I stared at the man across from me.He was hot, with black hair neatly slicked back. Time hadn't really left a mark on his face, but I could guess he was probably in his thirties, just from the mature way he carried himself. He was gentler than any man I had ever come across, and he had that deep baritone voice that struck a chord deep in my soul. When he smiled just now, it was as if an arrow embedded with hearts had pierced my chest. My heart picked up pace again. I'm not a fan of love at first sight, but never would I have thought I’d be sitting here in the woods, with a stranger older than me, one whom I know nothing about except for his name, and wild enough that I was actually dreaming about a future, with him... He glanced at me, and I stared dazedly at those mesmerizing blue eyes. They were simply hypnotic, drawing me in like magnet. He said something, but I couldn't focus on a single word that left his lips. Not

Elijah's POV"Alpha Elijah, you're here." Jorah stepped forward, nodding slightly. He was a young man in his early twenties, possibly the same age as my son. He had red hair just like his father, whom I used to be friends with. Until a few years ago when he unfortunately died, and since then, I didn't really pay much attention to this pack again.“Jorah.” I stepped forward, patting his shoulder gently. We could have talked about a lot of things, but definitely not now was the best time.“Did any of those vampires pass by your pack?”He gave a grim nod, his expression downcast. “Aye. A few hours ago. Many were still asleep at that time. By the time we could chase after them, they had already disappeared. They even hurt a few of our guards that put up a fight.”“That's unfortunate.” I glanced at him. “Which path do you think they would take from here?”He shook his head. “They are secretive creatures. However, they've been active in recent years. I'm not really sure about this, but I ha

Elijah’s POV Murmurs echoed around me as everyone exchanged uneasy glances. Apprehension filled the air. Bad news always traveled fast, but this wasn’t just bad news, it was something that could affect everyone when the time comes. It was a threat to their safety. Kylie had been kidnapped. Right inside our park’s jurisdiction. My hand clenched into a fist, heart pounding with unease. If they dare hurt her... I tried to calm myself, but my heart only clenched tighter. I glanced at Barkov. “Bring me to the place.” He didn’t hesitate. His expression was just as tight as mine as he turned to the others. “Training is dismissed until further notice!” he announced. I followed with a command, “Everyone should be prepared for any news at any time.” “Yes, Alpha!” came the united reply. Barkov and I exchanged a look. Then we moved. We charged into the woods, eyes sharp, senses spread to pick up any change. The air was cold, the weather chilly. I sniffed around – no vampire

“Clap clap clap.”Applause echoed, full of admiration – so loud that Mia allowed herself a slight smile. But Cole?To him, it sounded like a rain of shame. Each clap a thunderous reminder of his humiliating defeat; by a woman, a Gamma, Kylie’s friend… his father’s least expected pick. His jaw clenched. His heart constricted, not from the pain in his ribs, but from the humiliation boiling in his blood. He couldn’t speak. Couldn’t breathe right. Couldn’t believe what had just happened. All around him, the crowd buzzed, some still in disbelief, others too stunned to do anything but laugh awkwardly or whisper to the person beside them.Cole glanced at the man he grew up calling father, the one who never hesitated to humiliate him. He knew the people were already losing respect for him. He could feel it. After all, what kind of Alpha loses to a Gamma in front of the entire pack?Lucy had suffered a beating. Now he had too.In the hand of the same woman. This was a day he would never forge

The arena soil was stained with blood and paw prints now, some still fresh, some already drying. Sunlight filtered through the trees overhead, casting sharp shadows across the earth where Cole and Mia chased each other like fire and air. Mia was small but nimble, while Cole was huge and couldn't easily make such quick movements. The crowd couldn't help but comment at this scene. “Is she trying to wear him out or what?” “She's really agile. She managed to scrape by.” Cole clenched his teeth in anger. “You whore! Stay still if you dare.” Circling the same path was starting to make him dizzy, but the little bitch looked like she was just getting started. But what he hadn't expected was that Mia would indeed suddenly stay still. In fact, she didn't just stay still – she ran straight into him, managing to draw her claws along his obsidian body before backing off. She was so quick that he couldn't react until she stepped away. Cole let out a deep, chesty growl, low– but a bit of anger
