Chapter 4

مؤلف: Cool Husky
The back garden was where Fiona punished people. It was filled with private torture tools, practically a black site.

"Fiona, if you hurt Alannah, I swear I won’t let you get away with it!"

Tragically, no one cared about the breakdown of a soul.

When Alannah was dragged in, I watched her, panic rising uncontrollably.

Fiona held up a video. "Still refusing to talk? Alannah, where is Xavier?"

The moment she saw the video, Alannah was visibly shaken. "Where did you see him? Where is he?! That’s impossible! I watched them cremate him and bury him myself. How could he still be alive?!"

Alannah broke free of her restraints and lunged at Fiona, only to be knocked to the ground with a punch.

"Still not repenting, even now?" Fiona snapped her fingers, and Luca brought over my memorial portrait.

Alannah’s eyes instantly reddened. "You think you can touch my brother and get away with it?! I’ll kill you!"

She rushed forward to grab it, but the bodyguards slammed her to the ground. "Fiona, give it back! You animal! You killed my brother and still put on this act! Give it back!"

Fiona’s voice turned cold. "Still not telling the truth?"

When she lifted her chin, Luca snatched Alannah’s phone and handed it to her.

"Let’s see how you’ve been contacting Xavier."

Suddenly, Alannah stopped struggling. A mocking smile appeared on her bloodied face. "Fiona, if I could really contact Xavier, I’d die happy. You and your precious brother killed him. What are you pretending for now?"

Fiona ignored her and began scrolling through the phone.

I stepped closer, my eyes burning.

In Alannah’s messages with me, the last text had been sent just yesterday.

[Xavier, that monster came looking for you. She said you’re still alive. How ridiculous. I watched them carve your headstone myself. I carried your ashes home with my own hands. You dated Fiona for three years and lost your life for it. Do you regret it?]

Fiona’s face darkened as she scrolled up. There was nothing else. She even checked the call logs. The only thing she could confirm was that there had been no contact between Alannah and me.

"I’ll ask you one last time. Where is Xavier?"

"In the ground. He’s dead. If you want to find him, go ahead to hell! You’ll see him once you’re dead!" Alannah burst out laughing. "Fiona, why don’t you just die already! Even if you die, Xavier wouldn’t want to see you! Someone like you deserves to be alone forever!"

Smack!

A bodyguard slapped her hard across the face.

Fiona’s expression turned cold. "Hit her. Let’s see how tough she really is."

My rage exploded. "Fiona! Don’t touch her! You’re not allowed to touch her!"

My screams meant nothing.

The bodyguards rained blows down on Alannah. I couldn’t take it anymore and let out a piercing scream.

Maybe my resentment had grown too strong. A decorative piece on the table suddenly crashed to the floor and shattered.

I clutched my chest, collapsing weakly against the wall.

Only then did Fiona signal for them to stop. She crouched down, grabbing Alannah by the chin. "Still not talking?"

Alannah’s face was covered in blood, her eyes filled with hatred. "I already told you, his grave is at Evergreen Memorial Park. Are you too afraid to go?

"Fiona, do you even know how he died? In the dead of winter, they shoved him into a bathroom and drenched him with cold water. When he got sick, they forced him to hide it. In the end, myocarditis killed him.

"The prison said they contacted you. But you found it annoying and hung up. Later, you even blocked them. Do you remember now?"

Fiona immediately snapped, "That’s impossible! People like him don’t die that easily!"

Her entire body began to tremble. As if something had suddenly clicked, her face turned deathly pale.

Fiona pulled out her phone and brought up surveillance footage."Look closely. This is you meeting the kidnappers back then. Persistence pays off. I finally found it. What else do you have to say?"I thought you were really injured and that your leg had been broken. Turns out even your disability was fake. Ryker, how dare you? You kept up the act for six years?"Ryker’s face went pale as he watched the footage. Then, after a long moment, he burst out laughing. "Yeah, it was me. So what? Isn’t this all your fault? Every time I clashed with Xavier, you always took my side. You gave me the illusion that no matter what I did, you’d forgive me!"Poor Xavier. He loved you with everything he had, and you treated him like trash! Back then, you hated him so much you refused to believe a single word he said!"That’s what gave me the chance. Every time you went on a date, I was there. He didn’t like it, but you accused him of having dirty thoughts. What right do you have to blame me?""If I

After hearing everything, Fiona let out a bitter laugh. "I was too stupid, raising a viper by my side without even realizing it."Alannah scoffed. "No need to be so modest, Ms. Carter. You didn’t just raise a viper. You’re just as venomous. The two of you killed Xavier. Even if you regret it now, his soul will never forgive you."Meeting you in this lifetime was the worst luck our family ever had. Don’t forget the compensation you owe me. From now on, we will never see each other again."Fiona nodded. "I’ll compensate you. But I want to go see him.""There’s no need. If you stood in front of him, he’d only feel disgust. Fiona, drop the act. Love that comes too late is worth less than dirt. You and Xavier dragged things out for three years—on and off. Didn’t he ever tell you about the way Ryker looked at you? You just pretended not to see it!"The truth is, you liked having him chase after you. You’re disgusting."Alannah’s words were sharp enough to leave Fiona speechless. She w

"Alannah, don’t scare me. Wake up!"She lay motionless on the ground, her body covered in blood."Someone, help! Please, someone, save her!"However, I was just a soul. I couldn’t make a sound. In that moment, I hated myself more than ever. If anything happened to Alannah, too, I would never forgive myself.I ran outside.Near the entrance, a few men were sitting together, playing cards."That woman’s tough. We beat her that badly, and she’s still alive. What if the boss finds out?""The boss hates her brother to the bone. Even if she dies, she won’t blame us.""Besides, this came from Ryker. He wanted to vent. Of course, he wouldn’t let her off easily.""Forget it. Let’s not worry about it. If she dies, then it’s just bad luck."I froze.I never imagined it was Ryker. Why would he do this to me? Although I was already dead, he still wouldn’t leave my family alone?Too much. This was too much!My whole body trembled with rage. I was about to scream again when footsteps sou

Fiona stood there in disbelief, unable to process it for a long time.Luca spoke from the side, "You were the one who said he had to pay. I asked how his time in prison should be handled, and you said to make sure he was well taken care of."The moment he said that, Fiona’s body went rigid. It looked like she remembered everything.Back then, Ryker had just broken his leg. He couldn’t even stand, crying and demanding revenge against me.Furious on his behalf, Fiona hated me to the bone. She wanted me dead. Even before I was transferred to prison, she had already made sure I was beaten badly in detention.By the time I was sent inside, not a single part of my body was uninjured. I went hungry. I was beaten. I was forced to drink filthy water, sometimes even urine. When I begged the guards for help, they told me someone had ordered this treatment, that I shouldn’t hold onto hope.In a place like that, once you were marked as someone to be "taken care of", there was no getting out

Ryker clutched tightly at her sleeve. "Fiona, what’s wrong? Don’t listen to her nonsense!"For once, Fiona didn’t comfort him. She muttered instead, "I… I thought that was a prank. A scam."Alannah let out a cold scoff in response.Fiona’s patience snapped. "Lock her up. Keep her alive!"Behind her, Alannah burst into wild laughter. "Fiona, you’ll get what’s coming to you!"Ryker, on the other hand, was trembling all over. Fiona had actually ignored him and rushed out for the first time."Damn it! Damn it! Why won’t he stay dead?!" Ryker ground his teeth, seething. Fiona didn’t hear him, but I did."Ryker, losing to a dead man… must be a first for you."Luca hurried after her. "Ms. Carter, do you want to go to the cemetery?""All of that can be faked. There’s no need."I was forced to follow behind, my thoughts still stuck on Alannah. Hearing that, rage surged through me, and I swung my hand down hard, only to hit nothing but air.I snapped, "Who gets buried with a headstone
