Chapter 4

Amber’s POV

"Where am I?"

My eyes opened slightly only to see darkness around me. I felt a strong wave of discomfort run through my body and it felt like I was suffocating.

I was in a tight space.

"What's going on?"

I gasped in pain when my head bumped into a hard surface, I felt a liquid trail down my face and I knew I had injured myself.

I tried wiggling my hands free from the tight grip to touch the brunt but I was helpless. I could hear the engine and the smell of gas but I couldn't scream out loud because I was gagged.

My eyes burn as hot tears stream down my face. My heart aches with the thought of my dead parents.

The air got more suffocating as we drove on. My head ached, and an ominous feeling gripped my heart. I wondered where I was being taken to.

I didn’t need to think hard to figure out where I’m currently in.

It’s in the booth of a moving vehicle.

”A booth? What the hell was I doing in the trunk of a car?"I thought to myself.

I was so confused about what I was doing there as I couldn’t properly remember what happened. I tried to think and recollect what happened to me but my head hurt badly as I tried to remember.

I tried harder before it started coming back to me little by little. I started to recollect what was going on.

I remembered hitting my head hard on the wall as I could still taste the metallic tang of my blood in my mouth.

It was him. It was that asshole who killed my parents!

I became determined that I would make him pay even if it was going to be the last thing I do. I wonder what was going to happen to me now because I was very sure he was the one who kept me here.

Why didn’t he just kill me and let me go with my parents?

Just yesterday, I was living my normal life with my parents alive and enjoying the moment with them.

I got everything I wanted and they would do anything to make me smile. My father would go out of his way to make sure he got me everything I wanted as long as money could buy and Mom was always there for me.

Now I was left all alone in the cold world where only the strongest survived. I had become an orphan in the blink of an eye and my fate would be decided by a murderer who clearly intended to make me pay for my parents' supposed deeds.

I don’t know what my parents did to him but whatever it was he didn’t have to be brutal enough to kill them. I would never dance to his tunes and if he wants to silence me through death then so be it. I don’t want to stay alive for him to be able to make me miserable anyway.

So many things ran through at once.

Where was I being taken to? Was he going to kill me?

I didn’t have answers to those questions and as I thought about a life without my parents, tears gathered in the corner of my eyes once again.

I tried my best not to cry, I tried to be as strong as I could be but my eyes failed me as tears dropped freely from my eyes.

It was hard to breathe inside a car trunk and I shouldn’t be crying if I knew I wanted to last the journey but I couldn’t help it.  

Soon the car stopped and everywhere was quiet for a little while. Then the trunk was opened and I was forcibly pulled out of the car. I didn’t bother to look up as my hands really hurt and my head was aching badly, my eyes were already sore as I have been crying for a long while.

I was dragged out by a strange smelling beta who pulled me down to kneel in front of another man.

I looked up to see the man whom I was made to kneel before and I realized that it was the man who was the reason behind the complete downturn of my life and a scowl spread out on my face. He was the man who killed my parents for no reason at all and now wanted me to make sure he ruined me too.

“You!” I yelled as soon as the cloth got pulled out from my mouth, clenching my teeth and charging towards him but I was only able to take two steps forward before I was being restrained by two strong guards.

“If I were you, I would watch what I do.” He said in a hoarse voice void of emotions.

“What do you want from me? I have told you I won’t do anything you want me to do. Just kill me and let me go to meet my parents whom you decided to kill for no reason, you jerkface.” I spat out, yelling at the top of my voice. He didn’t seem bothered about my outburst at all and just gave out a soft smile.

“From today onwards, you cease to be an omega princess, the spoiled, rich and entitled one you used to be. Now you are nothing but a slave. My slave.” He murmured and I interrupted him with a loud laugh even though there was nothing funny about my current situation.

“In your dreams.” I retorted.

I was trying so hard to get on his nerves.

“It seems you won’t learn till you are taught a very good lesson." He said and then he motioned to one of his guardsmen and ordered " Give her ten firm whips of the lash on her back and show no mercy.” He said coldly, face blank and eyes narrowed.

I thought he was joking at first because which type of man would ask for a woman to be wiped on her back?

My marrow shook when I saw his guards approaching with two long whips in their hands.

I gulped in hard as what already seemed to be reality.

The two guards held my hands while the other two started to whip me. The first whip landed on my back harshly making me cry out in pain. I yelled out in immense pain when the whips connected with my soft skin, making me shriek even louder.

They continued without stopping for a moment and I felt numb, the pain was unbearable for me. Tears were streaming down my face uncontrollably and I was trembling like an insect when the Lycan King finally ordered.

“Stop.” He said plainly and arched an eyebrow at me.

I fell to the floor in tears, feeling unbelievably weak to the core.

“Take her to the cage.” He ordered, without sparing me another glance.

I was carried and thrown into a cage and then locked up in seconds, before I could begin to get my bearings together.

That was the last word I heard as my vision started to become blurry. I laid down on the floor lifelessly and slowly my eyes started closing up.

Soon, I lost consciousness.
