Witches hating wolves was nothing new. Nothing dramatic.

Yeah, that was a whole different level of bullshit. My jaw clenched just thinking about it, irritation buzzing under my skin.

"How..." Reeves rasped. His voice barely made it out, thin and strained.

"He deserves it," Vuk said, sounding way too entertained for my liking, his tone almost smug.

"Not now," I muttered. My hand tightened around the steering wheel as I pushed the speed higher, the leather creaking under my grip.

My pulse ticked in my throat, a steady reminder of how badly I wanted answers.

I needed to get him to Westend. They didn’t like us and we didn’t exactly send them birthday cards either, but there were a few decent witches. Freya was one of them, and she owed me more than one favour.

Reeves shifted uncomfortably in the passenger seat, breathing like each inhale scraped him from the inside out.
