I tried to keep eye contact, but the intensity of his eyes had me trembling with fear. He held my life in the palm of his hand. Seeing me lost and still standing, he slowly and lazily shifted on the sofa, his movements fluid like that of a serpent. Even his eyes reminded me of one.

“You are my slave. I spent a fortune buying you. And I like my slaves docile, not…” His gaze lazily took me in, and yet the probing depth of it had me recoiling into myself, wishing to hide my exposed skin.

“... stubborn. Or I know how to make them compliant.”

Slowly, he stood up. I was tall, but he still towered over me. “So kneel before I make you.” The threat in his voice left me reeling. The need for survival overshadowed the defiant spirit inside me. I chose survival, not wishing to be punished. I would think of an escape plan, but for now, I needed to obey him.

Slowly, I bent my knees and knelt, keeping my eyes on the ground.

“Good girl.” His heavy voice was like a velvety whisper, and yet all I felt was fear rippling through my body.

The clinking of the metal told me he had opened the collar. He wrapped it around my neck, like a stiff snake coiling. The coldness of the collar pressed against my skin, making me experience the bleak, unforgiving reality.

“You are my slave now, and I am your master.”

A small click, and it closed at the back of my neck. His cold fingers lingered there, not in assurance but as a warning.

“Never try to take this off. Only I possess the key. Any tampering and you will get a shock, which can even kill you,” he grimly added, and my terrified eyes shot up towards him.

Did he just attach a ticking time bomb to my neck? Crippling me, my movements, my freedom, my very individuality.

“Why?” Only one word left my quivering lips.

An evil smile danced on his razor-blade thin lips. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet, his grip tight and unforgiving.

“Because you are a slave and they ought to know their place in the Sunken Pit. This is my fortress, and everyone acts the way I want them to.”

My shaking hands reached towards the cold and stiff band around my neck, and I wished to tear it off, rip it apart. The tears scalded the back of my eyes.

The smirking devil took a step back and resumed his seat, elegantly placing his elbow on the edge of the armrest. His face rested on his hand, enjoying my misery.

“Remove the gown, I wish to see my purchase,” he ruthlessly commanded.

If the devil had a face, this would be his.

Mournfully, I blinked at him. What was I expecting?

My hands clutched the metal ring around my neck, my body shivering, and yet I refused to obey. He couldn't shred my dignity.

“Can we…I mean…if you,” every sentence I tried to speak came out broken.

“My patience is wavering with every second. Strip and get on the table, belly down and legs spread.” He pointed towards the wooden table in front of him.

My head spun. I had never been naked in front of a man before, and this one didn't only want me naked; he was going to take me.

The thought had me shying away from him in fright. My hand coiled against the white fabric of my chest.

“Please….I haven't done this…I am not read…” My words didn't completely leave my throat when he pressed the golden band on his wrist, and a jolt of electricity hit me.

My whole body spasmed, my hands went stiff, and my eyes almost rolled back into my sockets.

“So much jabbering. I hate women who talk unnecessarily.” His voice wrapped around me like the cloak of darkness.

“If you had behaved, I wouldn't have to electrocut you.”

His hands were over me in a split second; I didn't even see him move. Reflexes so fast, like lightning.

My white gown and dignity were ripped. White is the colour of purity, and mine was going to be tainted.

I didn't know when the screaming started. Was it when he smashed my body against the hard wooden table that my stomach and breasts got bruised?

Or was it when he brutally yanked my silver hair back?

My nails tried to dig into the flesh of his arms and face. But a green tail wrapped around my wrists, arresting them above my head.

“Listening to my first command would have prevented this…, but you wanted the hard way.” His legs pushed open my trembling ones.

“No, please …have mercy. I beg you. Just a few days….”

I pleaded. I begged. I lamented. I cried. I screamed.

But my words fell on deaf ears.

The screams he didn't even try to halt.

The screams of my pain and misery. The screams of my innocence being ripped apart. The screams of battling a monster.

But I was a frail girl, and he was a devil incarnate, a savage brute who mangled my honour and shattered every ounce of my dignity.

I bled on that damn table.

I bled on the tattered remains of my gown.

I bled inside and out.

My screams died when my throat gave way, and I was left on that table.

His tail brutally bruised my wrists, and I couldn't even feel my legs.

“I like it when they fight back. Was indeed worth the money.” He leered at me, adjusting his shirt on his torso.

“...rot…in hell,” I breathed out heavily. My throat refused to properly form words. He mirthlessly smiled at my words.

“Someone will come and get you. Assign you a job according to the skills you possess. Try not to die.” With a hefty smirk, he was gone, leaving me to bleed.

My eyes slowly closed, and I slipped into unconsciousness.

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   His Unfiltered Obsession

(Zorya)As if that was somehow on my hands to come back. Resort? I didn't want to go to any damn resort where he would rape me daily. I stayed quiet, watching the moon-kissed mountains and ignoring his slimy hand on my leg. He closed the partition between the driver and us. “I know, this must be terrifying for you. But you will return, and you will be a different person. Stronger, more accepting of the harsh realities of this world.” What? What was this man even rambling about? Harsh realities? Slavery was a choice. Maybe I didn't know his complete story, but he became this person—a slaver. “I will never accept slavery or abuse,” I quietly said, not wanting to anger him but also not completely abandoning my voice. His firm fingers tightened on my thigh. His other hand grabbed my face so I could stare into his obsessive eyes. “You think you have a choice?” His nostrils flared at me. “I have a choice to determine right from wrong even if I have no say in it.” He scoffed, a smil

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   Goodbye Sunken Pit, For Now.

(Zorya)My sudden emergence worked. Hadis was holding Ashlia's shoulders. Seeing me exit the bathroom, he let her go and hurriedly took a step back. Those pained expressions were masked with indifference. “Be ready. I will come back in half an hour to fetch you,” he said disinterestedly to me. Throwing one last pleading look at Ashlia, he left the room while clicking on a small device he was holding. The door closed, and Ashlia collapsed on the bed with a tired sigh. I gestured with my eyes and hands to ask what that was all about. She shook her head, and I understood she wasn't ready to speak about it. “He brought you clothes; get ready.” Quietly, Ashlia helped me dress up. Instead of a white gown, Caliath had sent a pastel green wrap dress which could be tied around my waist with a belt. There was also lingerie and, to my utmost surprise, a pair of white slip-ons. Tears almost slipped out of my eyes when I saw shoes after such a long time. Quickly, I put them on. Not only were

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   A Chance to Start Over

(Zorya)After our meeting, I had a few hours before we needed to leave. I wanted to speak to Ashlia. Caliath let me go but held Xalik back. “Don't tell anyone about the Hunt. Not even Ashlia. Just tell her you are going away with me for a few days,” he warned, and I nodded with a gulp. “Hadis will bring the clothes you need to wear. Be ready within the hour.”I rushed to the Clinic with Jazian. Ashlia and Rami were in the infirmary, arranging medicine and smiling with each other. “Ash!” Painfully, I called her out. Her beautiful smile vanished at the sound of my anguished voice. She rushed towards me, holding my arms. “What happened?”“I am going away for a few days with Alpha Caliath. I will miss you.” I didn't even know if I would ever see her again. She painfully bit down on her lower lip. “I will miss you too. We will have Pad Thai and sweets when you return,” she assured me. “Yes, I have some culinary skills too. Sometimes I like putting them to good use.” Rami winked at

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   The Horror that is Hunt

(Zorya)That's what the hunt was? Xalik scoffed beside me. “Classic. Not only did we take their lands, but we also created a horrendous tradition out of it, and our forefathers have been following it for centuries.”It seemed like Xalik was also aware of this history, because he didn't appear as fazed as I was. “They didn't have much of a choice. The Hunt was the suggestion of Dhwlarians. Besides, the population needed to be increased. So to the human refugees who flocked to their new, safe kingdom, the seven families told a different story. The Hunt was declared a sacred tradition to appease the "Old Gods of the Soil," but known to only a select few. The more powerful the families grew, the need for slavery set in; hence, places like these emerged.” Caliath scoffed, and I understood he meant the Sunken Pit. “It's the kingdom's darkest, most sacred spectacle. It is a ritualistic "tax" the noble families pay to the very land they rule.”“That's not the most vexing part. The problem

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   The Dhwlarians

(Zorya)I knew that some fresh hell had been broken loose on us. Caliath's father left after his announcement, but he stopped both of us there. Xalik and I sat side by side with a little distance between us. Caliath paced, agitated and angered. Xalik and I shared a worried glance. Quietly, he closed his eyes and opened them, trying to assure me without speaking. My hand ached to reach his, to have that assurance which his touch always brought. Caliath finally stopped pacing and stood facing us with his hands behind his back, and his expression hardened. “The Hunt is not a joke, and it's nothing like the tournament where one has to fight in an enclosed cage.” His angered eyes travelled between Xalik and me. “I thought you were the kingpin of this place. How come your father decided for your slave and me?” Xalik leaned back into the sofa and lazily placed his arms behind his head, almost taunting Caliath. This man had not a single fearful bone in his body. He loved provoking Calia

  • Slave to the Savage Alpha   The Hunt

(Zorya)Caliath's luxurious room was nothing but a reminder of painful memories. The table where he had tainted me sat there like an ugly reminder. I couldn't help but stare and remember that night. There was something twisted about Caliath; I remembered something like a green tail coiling around me, binding me. Werewolves didn't have green tails, nor did they have the slits in their eyes Caliath and Canara had. What were they? Apart from being werewolves. I had to ask Ashlia. She would know. I needed to divert my thoughts and attention, so I roamed his room. The glass liquor cabinet covered the entire wall. How much liquor did this man consume? The furniture was minimal, bland and uninteresting. The bed was covered with a black satin sheet. My gaze wandered to his side table. A book lay there. My interest piqued.‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley. The bookmark inside revealed he had been reading it. Reaching out, I carefully picked up the book and settled down on the floor near h
