Hailey’s POV

He sighed, dragging a hand through his hair. “It’s… complicated.”

I blinked at him in disbelief. My chest burned with anger. “Complicated? What the hell do you mean by that? What exactly is complicated about this?” My voice cracked with fury. “The fact that you left your woman drugged with Velorin by the way. In a stranger’s room… and then went drinking with her twin sister, who you know hates her?”

“Hailey—”

“And then what do you do?” I cut him off, my voice rising. “You take her back to your room and fuck her throughout the night. And even the next morning!” My hands trembled as I jabbed a finger at him. “And you know the worst part? You don’t even look like you regret it.”

His eyes darted away, guilt written all over his face.

I let out a bitter laugh. “I thought you were better than this.” My voice dripped with disappointment as I shook my head. “Oh, poor River… and here I was thinking—”

Careful how you throw that hypocrisy badge around Hailey after River told you she wasn't in love with Jay. You called him pathetic, your brother shouldn't have slept with Amber but, River slept with Zed and doesn't feel bad about it and he marked her. River was no victim she doesn't love Jay.
