C6: UNFRIENDLY FRIEND

A lady with brown hair and hazel eyes, who seemed to be in her twenties,

Sat by her window, staring at the sky.

She was used to it now,

She sighed when she saw a bird flying in the sky flipping itself.

She wished she could grab her paint and sheet to capture the beautiful sight before her.

But she had been restricted, no allowance as the duchess,

She didn't have a problem with that but being restricted from going outside was what she couldn't bear.

She would have made a lot of money through sewing, just like lady Aria.

They attended sewing lectures together but Williams won't let her earn.

She just wished he could listen to her own side of the story but he wouldn't.

She still didn't know why he changed and could not remember what happened that day as well.

‘ if I didn't know Elizabeth well I would have said she is a witch but Selena didn't see her as one but maybe I will have to contact her again and see if she is out of seclusion so that I can invite her’

She thought, feeling stupid not to have thought of reaching out to selene years back, selena would have helped her no matter what.

She regretted pushing Lucy away because she had trusted Elizabeth.

She thought Lucy was telling lies about Elizabeth because she disliked her, but she was only seeing what she couldn't see.

A tear slipped out of her eye

She had missed her family, especially her father.

He won't let her suffer nor would he let Williams maltreat her,

But he is far away now.

‘Lucas warned me about Williams because he never liked him and told me to stay away from him but he knows that I can't stay away from him but he won't listen only father, Raymond and Selena understood me.

I was too foolish back then to see through Lizzy and I guess everything went wrong since then’

She thought once more.

hearing the door creak she snapped out of her thoughts to see who it was and it turned out to be lady Elizabeth.

"Hi my good friend I hope you're enjoying your condition" she said which made Lady Madeline glare at her only for her to give her a hot slap.

"Lizbeth how dare you come to my room to slap me, why can't you mind your business, you betrayer and a husband snatcher, let me and my child be for heaven's sake"

She said feeling hurt

anger surged deep within her but she held it back.

Lady Elizabeth smiled wryly and continued

"now listen carefully Mandy I'm not here to listen to your pathetic words which won't stop flowing out of that gutter of yours, I came to tell you to warn your daughter never to show that disgusting face of hers around me, she irritates me and you should know what I can do by now bunny.

As for your so called husband he is mine and mine alone and you can't change that fact”

She said pausing her lips she grinned and continued

“You were too meek and foolish, even your friend Lucy warned you. Argh I so much hate her because she could see through my schemes but what can I do your naivety cost you something huge so blame yourself and not me"

“are you not ashamed of your deeds, because it will come back to you soon”

Lady Madeline said in a cold tone more like taunting her which she didn't know why she acted that way

“are you trying to scare me with your words it won't work because I will never lose, I will have Williams all to myself while you fade in misery, you are not the only one who deserves something good you have wealth and a loving family but my parents care about my brothers only and my sister who married a lord in Greystone and I was forsaken and still you still want to have his love I can't let it happen”

Lady Elizabeth half yelled.

“you will pay for your evil” lady Madeline said as pain squeezed her heart, she felt her betrayal once more.

“I won't because he will never learn the truth.

I made sure of that and I will do anything to make sure you won't be with him because I deserve him more than you do”

Lady Elizabeth retorted filled with fear and walked out of the room with a grin.

'I have been so foolish, they were my best friends even though I met Elizabeth earlier but Lucy turned out to be a true friend.

if only I could see her again and apologize to her but I can't go out l because of Williams there is no way I can do this for not trusting her'

she thought as she cried, she couldn't stop her tears as she drowned in them.

Lady Madeline paused, she could feel something strange stir in her.

She had the urge to strangle Lady Elizabeth, it was a foreign feeling.

Still confused she felt a pair of arm wrapped around her,

She didn't need anyone to tell her who it was.

"snow you're back, what took you so long,why would Elizabeth ask me to warn you, did you offend them"

She couldn't help but ask all at once after Snow cleaned her tears, looking at her worriedly.

"mother you should stop shedding your precious tears because of them, they are not worth it, and you're asking a whole lot of questions which one should I answer first mother"

Lady Madeline glared at her silently demanding an answer, she didn't want Snow to be Lady Elizabeth's target.

‘I can't afford Lizzy hurting her before she fully regains herself, else she might succeed in killing her’ she thought.

Lady Madeline was unsure if she should tell her about their true origin.

She didn't know if Snow was ready to face the truth and she couldn't keep on hiding the truth for so long.

Her health was truly get worse and there is no way out,

She might not get the opportunity to tell her the parts she was allowed to say.
