"You… got hurt? There… there is blood on your hands"

Those were the words that I could squeeze from my mouth after seeing the blood on his hands. I was afraid that my thoughts might be true. I was even more frightened that maybe it wasn't true and my mate was in danger.

At first, I struggled with the fact that his uncle was right. He was right that I was not fit to be here. Although Maverick had explained a lot about their kind to me, it was hard to process the fact that they were like the creature I saw not long ago.
