I placed the letter on the floor. My stomach churned inside of me. My head banged repeatedly. Lights flashed before my eyes. I couldn't scream. My throat felt tight and dried. A drop of blood fell from my nose. I rubbed it off with the back of my hand.

My shirt was drenched with blood, sweat and tears.

I got up and moved the curtains opening the windows. I sat by the vanity. I lifted the letter up and read.

There was blood everywhere. She was screaming, but the walls were thick. No one outside heard a thing. I was the only nurse assisting in the room. They took the baby away so quickly. Didn’t even let me see. Then they stitched you up like it was routine, like you were nothing more than a body on a table. I looked at your eyes. They fluttered with tears rolling down your cheeks.

I knew it then that you wanted to leave that place. I stopped giving you the

Ava's POVHow do I tell Zara about what I found out?I pulled out my phone as I sat on my bed in my bathrobe. My hair was wrapped in my towel when I heard a sound from the basement. It wasn't loud but it sounded like a gunshot. I got up and stood by the stairs.“It's nothing you should worry about.” Elena called out as she wiped the floor with a mop.How is she not bothered?“Where is Lorenzo? Wasn't that a gunshot?.”“It's not what you think. Breakfast is ready, anyway.”Now that she mentioned it my stomach growled. The smell of cinnamon rolls filled my nose. “Let me get dressed.”I walked into the wardrobe. I pulled a shirt and a palazzo.I looked at it and remembered how my mum used to joke about me wearing big stuffs to imitate my brothers. Why didn't she tell Zara? I looked at the envelope. Didn't she look at it? I slipped on my palazzo and shirt. Even if I call her what do I tell her about her late mum.I shook my head as I walked down the stairs.“Looking good Ava.” Elena sa

Isabella's POV Sinclair, Sinclair, Sinclair. The name tasted bitter sweet on my lips. The air was warm on my skin as the maid opened the window. I had tried to shake the feeling since I met with Zara at the cemetery. Some kind of familiarity lingered with the name Sinclair. It gnawed at my chest with it's claws. Whatever it is I must find out.A light tap on the door. Antonio walks in. The maid excused us. “You called for me.” his thick voice resonated with rhythm. His wet hair glisten under the light. His crisp shirt tucked in black trousers. I shifted my gaze to his face before I wet my pants. “Do you know any Sinclair?” I blurted.“Ava's name is Sinclair.”He blinked as he shifted his gaze.Hmmm. Ava Sinclair. Something is fishy.“I mean any Maria Sinclair.”“Ava's mum.”“Ava's mum?”“She died two months ago.”The grave stone I saw had 35 years on it. I tapped on my thighs. She won't have died two months ago if she died some 10 - 15 years ago. I sense foul play.“Find out about

Lorenzo's POV I woke up to Ava sleeping next to me. Pain shot up by abdomen as I shifted my weight to get up. “What are you doing?” Ava turned to look at me. Her face glowed like the morning sun. “What does it look like?” I tossed the sheet aside as I got up.“You shouldn't —-I raise my fingers. She kept shut. Getting up too.“You should rest for the whole of today.” Her voice dripping with care and calm confidence. She walked to my side of the bed and stood in front of me. “So, it would not rip.”My gaze was on her cherry lips as she spoke. I couldn't resist looking at her breast as she stood in front of me. The light passing through her blood stained white shirt giving me a view of her silhouette.“What are you—” She wrapped her arms around her body.I smirked as she moved out of the light. “I need to freshen up.”“You have got to be kidding. Let me get you a wash cloth. You know nothing about having fresh stitches, do you?” Her breast bobbed as she scolded.“And you do?”“My b

The thunder clapped and the skies looked dark. Rain pattered on my window. I snuggled under my sheets. I couldn't shake the feeling gnawing at my chest. Fear. Dread.I tossed to my side avoiding to rest my head on my arm that had a cut during the accident because of the stinging sensation I felt.I sat up and tossed out all the envelope and content of the box.I had just read one from my mum. I picked another one that looked brown with age.Ripping open the content. It read.I saw them watching me as I got back from work. I can't last long doing this. You have to take her away and change your identity to something they can't trace.I picked up the next. It was the same thing and the same person. It wasn't signed. I looked at the address. Who are you? I went through the box contents and I saw another ID tag. AVAC Sandra West. She looked a lot like my mother. I jumped from my bed and picked up the novel and flipped the pages. The ID dropped. AVAC Maria Sinclair. My mother is Sandra

Ava’s POVThe mansion was too quiet as I got out of my bed. My muscles felt relaxed from the long hours of induced sleep. The sedative kicked in as I tried to fight it but my eyes fluttered shut as I looked at Lorenzo's eyes as it gazed at me and the volume of the machines surrounding went down into silence.Just few minutes of getting up. A man with grey hair on tweed jacket walked in on me as I pulled my robe.“How are you doing Ms.Ava?”“Who are you?”“Dr. Luter.”“What are you doing here? I don't think Lorenzo wants you here.”“I do.” Lorenzo walks in on both of us. My eyes lit up when I turn to see him. Hand out of sling but still bandaged. A coffee in his other hand. “And yeah I am a bit okay.” He lifted his arm.“How long have I been out?” Weeks. Months.“Just a couple of days, Ms Ava.”“5 days” Lorenzo responded sipping his coffee. My eyes darted from him to Dr. Luter.“Yes, Five days.”“You are pulling a trick on me right,” I turned to look at Lorenzo. He shook his head. Dr
